It feels like shrinking down and driving an RC car now that it has 56KW and 4WD 😂LAST WEEKEND TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY grindhardplumbingco.com/
I want one 😎
Literally the best intro to any Grind Hard video. I'm already stoked and it's been 45 seconds. Great editing :)
You guys are Rad!
put more power at the back it have too much in front
Pro tip: Before you mess with Ethan's flash drive, buy four more like it, duplicate it four times, and leave them in the top of the toolbox or something like that. At least if you loose it, you've got backups
The couple seconds of silence at the top of that hill then …”pop” and backwards you go was priceless..almost like an amusement park ride!
Will you or the bot who stole your comment get more likes? 😄
You forget to add the "oh oh" too
@@johanncover1988 thtats the realization that things are going wrong, pretty sure weve all been there😂
It's like a sketch from The Goonies.

The Chang Li build is my favorite series on UA-cam right now. I want one!
That makes me so happy to hear!
they have changed everything that makes it a Chang Li, so it really is not a Chang Li anymore is it.
, It's a Jank-Li!
@@GrindHardPlumbingCo Looking at getting one and copying and improving the mod`s you`ve done and getting it road legal too... :)

The comedic timing was perfection. Laughed my ass off at that "Uh-oh"
That was hilarious. These guys have soo much fun 😂

That was the most terrified I have been in a long time!
It wouldn't have rolled if you would have turned the tires downhill. Good job on the fabrication. You guys get better each project. Glad you didn't crunch going backwards, can't wait for the next vid. God bless you all
Please put a roll bar or a roll hoops in it! Maybe some seat belts
Maybe an e brake!
This one of the only channels that really gives an in depth look at the difficulty of fabricating and machining one-of parts that are ACTUALLY STRAIGHT AND TRUE. Most channels just edit out the part where they realize simply owning a lathe doesnt make you a machinist
You van tell Ethan has taken Will under his wing as his student. Teaching him to become a better welder, fabricator and overall builder!
Yeah, and he seems like he's actually a good teacher.
Please wear safety glasses when you are cutting metal it's awful getting it in your eyes he should teach him that first thing eye is not replaceable
Came to the comment section to say the same thing.. Warm fuzzies watching Will learn through both success and failure - and not being scared to give something a go then learn the correct or easy way after is just amazing. Loving the dynamic.
Inwas giggling like a little girl watching this. Great fun guys. The Chang Lee rocks!❤
And not lose flash drives.
This things nuts haha.
I've built dual motor RC Cars before, and if you have independent motors driving front and rear axles, the front always spins up more. When you accelerate you get less load on the front axle, so the motor is able to get higher RPM's than the rear. Even when you use separate speed controllers. For the same throttle input, the front can spin faster with less load.
Having different diff setups is deffinitely not helping either, even if both controllers are set up the same it looks like the front has a shorter ratio or something since it was skipping forward even when crawling as if the rear was dragging it down
No way I thought I’d see tomley hear 😂
@@daylightdies7194 haha… been watching these guys for a good few years. 🤟
These are some of my favorite interactions on YT 😎
This man knows electric motors... solid advice!
Ethan is like the Red Foreman of this operation, and Will is totally Kelso. Edwin might be Eric... The family dynamic is great, but Ethan just can't resist busting their chops every day :D
Ethan actually teaches though Red just heckled
Idk Ethan seemed jealous to me. A teacher directs before the problem occurs. Ethan tries to solve after the problem happens. That can be seen by Ray Charles. If he had the knowledge and ability he’d be lead on the job..js
Edwin is Fez, the most annoying one. Parrreeeemmmmiuuummm!!!

thats Edwin and Steven filming and mostly Edwin editing as well...theyre beasts for sure

Seeing that ladybug drive across the road from the outside and being able to hear you guys laughing is "premium" love it!
We really do love this little car!
I really do live this car as well.. its got to be a blast to drive
It looks cool yes but drivability no. It’s still got a toy car engine.
It needs a power train to be actually cool.
So do we 🤌
@@theoverseerknowsall6619 they swapped the motor to a qs138 from memory so it's definitely not a toy car engine if you look up qs138 swaps on youtube then you'll find a heap of videos of people swapping them into dirtbikes and stuff
And the next time on Grind Hard Plumbing Co:
"We gutted the Chang Li again. Shoved in the drive train of a 1400kW Rimac Nevera. And put it on 58-inch Mickey Thompsons."
Don't give them ideas😂
Saw the title and immediately clicked "play". These dudes are awesome. I'm 59 and love that they are doing things I've wanted to try. Pass or fail, it's all in the name of progress. (Or it could be construed as ignorance and fool hardiness. Either way, it's fantastic!)
FOR REAL 🗣️🗣️
you guys just need to put acrylic floors in it so you can still see through the floors. Great content as always. Keep up the great work
"i be workin under chang-li's all day, my hairs burnin' up" is probably the best will quote of all time.
🤣🤣🤣 love it
Under Chang-li's what?
👀
I love how you give Will free reign to do whatever and you guys are just there to make sure he doesn't die or catch fire, or smash his phone screen😂
Or weld in the spindle bearings on the lathe... Honestly might be good for the shop in the long term if they put some current through those and had to upgrade the lathe!
Uploaded right before the first day of my new job. This definitely settled the nerves down and improved my mood a lot. Thanks guys
Edit: To all of the incredible and kind people who commented below; The first day went a lot better than I thought it would!! I know it sounds a little cliché but it was some hard work that made me feel like I was truly working for my pay. The future is looking a bit better now and I finally got some of my self esteem back. Thank you for all of your amazing comments and for being such awesome people. Your comments alone gave me the push I needed to step through that door. Bless your souls❤
I’ve faith all will go well 🤙 in your new job
Get that hype up, you got this! 😎
good luck!
man look at all these positive peeps in here! Love to see this for you. Go make that cash!
Bring home the bacon! You got this!
I have never enjoyed 10 minutes of Will and Edwin screaming more than just now
As far as the pinion oiling goes adding some shallow cuts across the outside flat face of the ring gear will make it sling more oil up onto the pinion bearing.
I've always wondered, it's not quite your style to have it only rear-wheel driven. Glad you're doing it all-wheel drive now 😁
Ethan wearing Fab Rats merch is pretty sweet I love when channels collab
24:10 Ya'll ever seen a tool for straightening bent flanges like that. Its essentially a regular hardened steel Tool with a roller attached to the end. You mount it in the tool post and use it to push the flange back into trueness. Very quick dirty way to fix out of round flanges.
I have been here since day one, well pretty close to day one. But i think Will makes the channel alot of fun glad you all are doing what u are doing. I really enjoy the videos.
Roll cage sounds like a good idea. lol Maybe a grappling hook too. Might be handy on those brakeless mountain free falls. 🤣
definitely needs that cage for some proper chassis rigidity and refining of some of the electronics. also some better tires. but for what it is right now its super cool.
frankly some improvements in the future to make it truly last like proper torque specs in the differentials and other future proofing would be cool. this build and all the work you put into it definitely deserves some permanence in the grindhard vehicle family. once everythings said and done and you've made the improvements stated at the end of the video, this thing will be up there with the kernel and it would be a shame to let it fall into disrepair and become a parts vehicle like the other wacky projects that are forgotten about.
tragedies like sendy and the odyssey for example.
The chang-li and the monster chopper are now peak ghpc. Never thought id say that after the barbie jeep or colonel senders, but here we are
"if it looks straight it is straight" - @jimmy diresta for the last 20 years, wise words!
Just waiting for the "We put a 1000cc engine in the cheapest car in the world" video lol. you guys are great, keep it up, love the pod too
Electric is better and more fun.
1600cc turdo hayabusa engine😂😂
@@ericblanchard5873disagree for a off road type car, carrying just gas is a big advantage over having to carry gas and a generator plus most car guys agree more noise=more fun
put turbo on a Electric motor how worst it can be?
@Cultist564 may as well just attach a leaf blower to the back of your rig because a turbo wouldn't do anything to an electric motor, lol 😆
I want to thank you explicitly for not recognizing the front bias issue, re-tweaking the thing, and then doing a "first test". I am not saying that's what you do but I love seeing the raw production and reaction from all of you. Thank you gentleman.
This was one of my top 5 videos from grind hard. Love it. Will is getting way better explaining what he's doing.
Its always awesome to watch people grow and learn through trial and error! Awesome work!
Anyone else watch these videos and try and spot the mobile in the back pocket 😅
Thanks for that. You really really made me chuckle. Keep up the good work.
Your editing is top-notch as always. Easily my favorite put together videos.
18:17 I'm not sure you want to be known as the "One try wonder willy" 😂
You guys are awesome haha, i love how this project is coming together and I CANNOT WAIT for the adventure to come and to see it completed! I was going to suggest wheel spacers but then y’all added them this episode lol, y’all need to figure out how to make this thing geared lower so it will be better at crawling, and maybe try to add some more weight over the front wheels, also y’all should get a better steering wheel for this thing and do something with the headliner lol but hey all in due time!
i really like that you can switch the rear diff on and off i think once you figure out when and where to switch youll know what to use and when to get through places you cant even walk easier
Best opening segment yet!! Always killin it with these edits!!
Will and Edwin are an unexpected super-team!
All the way from the build process to the adventure of trying to get it 100 miles, this is probably my favorite video series! Love it!!!
This episode absolutely felt like an evolutionary leap in your videography. And that is coming from something extremely enjoyable. You take simple backwoods workshop stuff and make it a real production. I love it and if you guys are ever in Western Washington you have lunch or dinner on me, just shoot a message.
"You've got to admit, it is pretty impressive" 🤣 Indeed it is, indeed it is!
Fantastic, well done Will!
So glad Will got the Razor Electro and Co 72v kit because that started his path into the addiction of electric vehicles.... Hopefully I can get one of those kits before they're gone because they are crazy powerful. 😁👍❤️
I really hope you guys go all out with this build. Don't stop keep going make it super clean!
This is the dumbest and the best thing on UA-cam ❤ lots of love guys!

The choice of music on this one made it feel like The Trailer Park Boys! Nice mood. 🤓🙏🏼
Good job guys letting Will really start to fabricate on his own projects. I think this is the way to go. It's the same attraction we had watching Ethan grow over the years. Watchin Ian and Will drive that thing around looked like they had a genuine blast. Good content guys! 👍
“I wonder how the breaks work” “THERES NO BREAKS!!” 😂
Your videos feel like a TV series Iook forward for. They're absolutely amazing ❤
There's RC cars, and then there's WC (willy controlled) cars.. jank to the next level! I actually love the way the chang lee looks now. Ripping that small tree out with the front wheel burnout was great. And Will, the welding and design is getting pretty darn good!
you should install solar panel on the hood and the top ,so you can run even longer
Good to see the end result of the work we could pick on all the other videos from the channel when you were working on the monster bike
Some suggestions for the boys:
1. Try and achieve a 60-40 power split (Rear bias, if even possible)
2. Fix those sketchy-ass brakes
3. Put even bigger, chunkier tires
4. Soften the front suspension a little
5. Under-tray, or at least a front shield
6. Stick a winch to the front
7. mount the generator inside, and not on top (to keep the center of weight as low as possible.)
This is an amazing project.
Will’s fab skills continue to improve, well done!
Ethan props for doing a good job of mentoring.😊
Some of my favorite builds on YT rn‼️Grind Hard is goated🐐💪🏽
That was soooooo funny thanks boys.
Could we get an episode where you can go a bit more in depth with the cost of some of what it takes to get one of these machines up and running?
Thanks!
Just loving to watch you grow in skill Will!!
I love what you guys are doing with this thing. Can’t wait to see you guys go more places you can’t even walk.
Drill and tap between the pinion bearings on the front diff. Put a grease fitting in and use NIGL-1 grease. Should work mint
When you stalled on the hill was hilarious, I do same stuff when test driving my builds, lol.
Cant wait for the 100 mile challenge. I've been eagerly awaiting for this build to finish. So glad its 4wd now.
That was hilarious. The editing and music on that last scene was perfect.
A good leader produces great students and Wills increasing skill level shows just how great of a teacher Eathan is.His age and inexperience still shows up though sometimes and it's great for a good laugh
This is awesome,a few friends and a great day.keep on keeping on men!!
Everlast has stepped up to the Tig game man. These welders are top-notch. I have one. They weld just as well as my Miller and Lincoln welders. I aslo have a prime weld i bought one of those to "check out" for the price and those aint bad either.
The chang li always puts a smile on my face! Great work Will 💯👌 of course Papa Ethan and Edwin too. I feel like once these catch on. y'all should start a whole club of custom chang li rock climbing. Places you can't even walk challenge 💪💪💪. That thing looks very Premium. Like it should of always looked. Suspension flex is very impressive too.
Look how far grindhard has come🍻 proud of you guys keep bringing us content on awesome builds 🎬🏅
Hell yea great content as usual. And much love to yall from Maryland❤❤❤
I have been wanting to see a vehicle cab on a quad for literally years, this concept is amazing!! I wish I had something like this, it looks so FUN! I wonder how it handles in snow, how exciting!!😅 you guys are epic. I have a prediction that you guys might try slightly* larger tires, but I wouldn't be shocked if you didn't tho.
First video i've seen from you guys, this was VERY entertaining
You guys driving that thing and the reactions, pure comedic gold...
Wills "places you can't even walk" while welding under the front end is just perfect.
So matter of fact.
It's on a shirt!
That intro was killer, you guys genuinely deserve your own tv show
Them getting stuck and then rolling backwards was the funniest thing I've seen on UA-cam this month. Pure comedic content 😂
Man dope build !! I have some design suggestion, when designing structural part like motor mount 28:39 to ensure most integrity from the material, drill hole at least a thickness away from the edge. That way there is no way it will snap under load.
The ebb and flow of the shear chaos of will builds and the zen master craft of Ethan builds is the secret sauce that keeps me coming back.
i have fell in love with the jank chang lee that car is a kool little car and the things you guys are doing to it looks awesome and seems like it would be a really fun little project
I laughed so hard that I had to rewind and watch it repeatedly and laughed even harder. It is one of the best gut-busting laughing moments in ALL your videos. Keep up with the great videos, we'll keep watching.
Chang Li, Will and Edwin is the best combination.
The facial expressions while driving are so funny.
Keep up the good work and never change Will, your character is A welcome addition to GHPC.
I'm so excited to see the next iteration of body work on it!!!
Many years a go, my friend and his dad made a 4motor/4wheel drive electric go cart, using 4 x 24v truck starter motors and a handful of 12v leisure batteries behind the seat (2 wired in series & 2 wired in parallel making a hefty 24v), outfitted it with 12" wheels with chunky rubber and, MAN! IT RIPPED! Over the sand, in the woods, it just went EVERYWHERE! 👌
😎🇬🇧
I feel like at this point you just need to bite the bullet and give the Chang-Li a full tube chassis when you're doing the roll cage. You've got to be over half way there already and it would make it a lot safer.
Best entertainment and frikking funny. You guys made my evening highlight. Cheers from Australia ❤
I had to comment straight off the bat! Turning that over on its side and seeing him end up on the passenger side was priceless! My stomach hurts from laughing so hard!🤣 Glad he isn't hurt!
Love the video!! Try flipping the open end smallest tooth towards the direction you are cranking on, saw you had er flipped when trying to break free those rusted nuts on the shock top. Makes it slip off less.
Having the front axle over-driven or over-torqued might be advantageous. I know it is done with RC Crawlers. I also like how you can switch it to 2WD to conserve the battery. Very Clever.
LOVING THIS can't WAIT for the next part
I stumbled across your guys channel years ago when you hotwired the Tacoma. It's so insane to see how far y'all have come. From the taco to barbie cars to chang lee. I fucking love it! Premium!
Such a fun build. Keep up the good work.
Will is getting so much better....
He doesnt leave his phone in his back pocket as much ha ha
But seriously, his work has improved so much
When Will is driving his creations all I can do is smile!! At one point I was laughing outloud!!! Will and Edwin are like two kids having too much fun and
Ethan is like the older brother trying to keep them from killing their selves 😂😂😂
Guys, some remote controlled crawlers use a system called DIG. It basically puts the brakes on the rear wheels and drives the front wheels to make tight turns in obstacle courses or keep you from sliding in a less than ideal direction. You could do that with the dual motor dual controller setup in the JANK.
