I love the sound of that Cat engine, beautiful survivors for sure, nothing like the smell of fresh turned soil
Those were the Days. I loved moldboard plowing.
My uncle was a Caterpillar mechanic and Oliver n White man. When he passed I purchased his 2-180 n pulled our JD 30ft No Till air drill with it. Now it pulls a Kinze cart nursing our A 86 Gleaner and Cabover Freightliner. So in harvest I often think about uncle as I combine, A C 13 feeds a 3408 that nurses a 3406E. Them kitty cats roar! I’ve been waiting for this since I saw that Bill was out with the Toohills again on Instagram. Thanks Jay. This is immensely satisfying
I worked for WFE Libertyville, Illinois 1976-83 as a prototype build and test technican and went to Nebraska with the 2-180 and so much more.
David thank you that is very cool. The 2-180 is an impressive tractor. I want to find a 2-180 to film for a full feature here on the channel. If you have time send me an email at toytractortimes@gmail.com
Love them twin stacks. Best part.... NO DEF.....
All naturally aspirated V8 power 😁👍
And they run forever !
@@johngnipper8768 Easy to work on like the older pickup trucks. Growing up on a dairy farm most equipment breakdowns were fix by my stepfather. Today you need a computer education and thousands of dollars in electronic technology.
@@freedomrings1420 Exactly !
@@johngnipper8768 bottom end needs serviced, like an oil change.
A 4-150 was our farm’s first articulated tractor and first tractor over 100 horsepower. Bought new when I was in junior high school, I put a lot of hours in the seat of that thing. The hydraulic system left a bit to be desired, always had to slow way down to give the hydraulics time to lift the tillage equipment. We pulled a Miller 12 foot offset disc and a White 22 foot folding disc off the drawbar and a 3 point hitch mounted 12 foot chisel plow, which was all that tractor wanted to mess with.
My grandfather farmed with Olive when my Uncle took the fatm over he farmed with White. Both were good tractors. Great video.
Another great video like seeing the older tractors working we have 4-150 2-180 2-150 2-135 2-105 2-70
Wow what a great line up of silver. What do you run for a combine?
@@bigtractorpower new Holland 985 dad bought back in 1985 and a Massey Ferguson 850 bought that last summer
I'd think that 4wd white would plow in circles all the time with all that rubber on the one side!! lol! At different times Dad had many of the brands mentioned. He had Cockshutt red 30's and Cockshutt yellow 540's (what monsters those little tractors were) and an Oliver Green 66, 77, 660, 770 and the 1650 I've mentioned before. Great video Jason!
Videos like this give me an overwhelming desire to go plowing, only with allis chalmers 😂
Picking corn with the Oliver OC-6 crawler and new idea picker is one of my favorites.
Very very cool.
Damm we use to have so many great companies back then. A lot of competition made for some awesome machines.
My dad was a Farmall / IH man, but I worked quite a bit for a local cattle feedlot operation (he always hired the local HS kids, as they put up several thousand small square bales every year). They had several Oliver's and White's. At one time, 3 Oliver 77s, a 1650 narrow front was the loader tractor, a wide front 1655, 2-105, and the big tractor was a 2-135. To this day, that 1655 is one of my favorite tractors to run. Flattop fenders, wide front, 3 spd power shift (Oliver over/under drive), it was a great all around farm tractor.
Nice line up. Did they use Oliver bakers? The Oliver with the heat houser on it in this video plowing is a 1655.
@@bigtractorpower I don't know, never worked much for them in the winter. I suspect they would just use one of the Whites, as they had cabs. Don't remeber seeing the 1650 loader tractor with a cover either, but it's possible.
I have passion of agriculture especially the American revolution on machines and expertise in modern world
good to see them ole whites in action, we had oliver and whites on our home farm growing up, 2-105 and 2-70 and several olivers made here i Iowa
Very nice. The 2-105 is my favorite WFE.
Nothing better than watching some silver bullets make rounds. We currently have a 2-155 and 4-175 best tractors on the farm. Thanks for sharing
That fwd white sounds good with those straight pipes
Yeah those 3208 cats sound great
You definitely need ear protection. Growing up on a dairy farm and 5 years in the Seabees as a heavy equipment operator and running heavy equipment most of my life ,I'm surprised I can still hear because i hardly wore hearing protection. I even had to turn down the sound on this ...LOL 😂
@@freedomrings1420 yeah, I've got a 4-150 it's not overly loud in the cabin, but I still wear ear protection, I often use ear protection for many things as I just got used to it working in a factory for many years.
@@landlifem5872 It's better safe when it comes to your hearing.Just like I didn't always wear eye protection but luckily wear glasses that I know saved my eyes many yimes.
See you don't need the latest greatest to get things done. And no tier 4 engine crap to deal with...
I never drove a white tractor before seen to be very powerful.
Hello! Always interesting to watch these old but capable machines!
Lots of nice iron in this video. I have a 1966 Minneapolis Moline U302 that I use for raking hay and other various jobs.
It is all coming together, awesome tractors, awesome sound, awesome video!😁👍
Thank you👍👍
Beautiful tractors I love to have me a white tractor one day along with my Oliver's
👋 hey 👋 from Dexter,Missouri
Super awesome video.
Hay Jason, the 3 tractor says it's a 2-155 on the side? LOL The 2-155 and 2-135 were developed from the Oliver 2100 and 2150 built back in 1968/69. We had a 2-105 and a 2-180 and MM G950 and an Oliver 770. Along with a 545 Oliver combine.
That’s 2050 and 2150. 478 Hercules power plant.
I used to farm with two of the 2-150’s and one of the 4-150’s. Spent a lot of hours in them!
Wow very cool. What did you run for a combine with your silver tractors.
You keep saying 2-135 but that tractor you keep showing in your videos is 2-155
Great video BTP. I enjoy your information about the tractors and who bought who about the manufacturers
Great vídeo Jason.
Buddy of mine bought one, mint condition, all it did was run a grain dryer/augers. After he took it to the field,
he understood why it was used as stationary power. Crude.
..... After the Meadow Green and Clover White, the Argent Silver took some getting used to.....
that is some tough looking dirt those trctors are working
Some of the richest soil in the US. In other regions these tractors could pull one or two more plow bottoms.
💝💕💖 🙏👍✌🙏 💜💜💜 THANK YOU....................
we had two molines one was oldz. and U302 . and 1655 oliver 74 model bought new. then got a 1755 oliver gas. then a john deere 2950. we used two way plows to plow.
Been waiting for this video! 👍👍👍
Nice tractors, never seen any of them out here in Aus, don’t think they were ever sold here. Regards from Down Under.
I have a 1983 WFE sales brochure on the company’s headquarters and product line in Australia. WFE was selling tractors in Australia as early as 1972 offering Oliver tractors in Sumac Red with the WHITE brand name on the decal.
real surprised to see one in a farm shed on sugar cane property near Mackay, talked to owner who told me a few were sold in the area and his was surplus to requirements all it's history from new and even a second one in another shed!
You live and learn, surprised to learn they were sold here, couldn’t have been very popular, can’t recall ever seeing one.
@@outbackladas Had a 4-180 back in the day. Used to farm on the Yorke Peninsula.
My daddy had a Moline but not sure the model. It was a small two row cultivator tractor with the mid mounted cultivators. He wad a truck farmer back in the day.
Like em all…🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
Thank you for watching.
Sounds great
The CAT 3208 and MM 585 engines have a good sound.
I own a 4-180 as a hobby tractor currently undergoing restauration. The steering and brakes work but we can’t get the hydraulic spool valves and linkage to work. If anyone has any hints for what might be the issue I’d love to hear from you!
Great to see the working tractors. We had an Oliver 880, probably the first tractor I drove as a kid back then.
Question, could be camera angle/distortion, are a couple of those plows showing different cut depths first to last mold board? Dirt is still getting rolled over well.
Seems like one of them is not level properly
Wonder how they level out the trench left on the last pass
I hope to find a decent 4 -150 one of these days.
I hope you get one. The 4-150 is on the rare side these days. It would be a good one to preserve.
I pulled an IH 7 bottom plow with my 2-135
Very nice.
The Minneapolis Moline / White articulated 4wd lineage died... And now the Massey Ferguson / Challenger line is dead too 😢
We farmed with a 88 a 1600 an A series 1800 2 1850s a 1755 and an 1855 and a 2255 and a2-135 but then we bought 2 94 series case IH and 4 40 series Deere's and retired the Oliver's but the white was still out making the others look bad doing heavy work
You think what the price of Illinois Farm line at $25,000 acre they get upgrade on those tractor date
There used to be quite a few White 2wd tractors around these parts, but we see less of them out there every year.
Time marches on and unfortunately as these tractors grow older newer used machines are more efficient and have cheaper price tags. It becomes easier to jump up a few generations. The last White Tractor was built in 2001 and that will see the brand fade into history more and more.
@@bigtractorpower Plus, there is only one AGCO dealer anywhere around within a 100 mile radius that I am aware of and they are not a very big dealer., so parts etc are definitely a lot harder to get than they used to be. A lot of the guys that were running them are starting to retire and sell off their land for development too, which I hate to see.
The 4-180 was built off the Minnie because it had the Minnie torque and tranny the 4-150 had 1855 rearends and the Oliver O/U
No it wasn’t. It had the 6 speed Oliver based tranny with a second range for 12 speeds. No form of powershift
@@nellsonstout7001 the ones we sold new we was the local white Oliver and Ford dealer 62 to 82 and the 4-180 was the first articulated white it was a 2655 with new tin work and a 3208 cat they had the Minnie drive train because when the 4-150 came out everyone asked if it was a Minnie or a white !
It had the Minnie 6 speed which was not the same as whites and Oliver's and Oliver quit the 2 spd and used there 3 spd O/U since 69 and the 4-180 2 spd had to much speed change !! It even had different brakes than the whites !
Enjoy the the video thank you
Thank you for watching.
Neat old tractors, but just never could get turned on by a White

the field needs more trees and hedgerows.....
Why is that?? Given the fact that this farm ground is bringing premium prices every square inch not in production is a drain on the operation.
Nope, it’s fine just the way it is. No branches and/ or whole trees to fall into the field. No tree roots robbing moisture and leaves robbing sunlight from the first rows of crop. No additional habitat for deer.
These tractors are good but transmission are very clunky. We are down to our last one. That 4-150 would be cool repowered with a 8.3 Cummins.
👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍
I know of a 4-150 for sale in McKay, Queensland Australia...one owner, low hours!
Very nice. 4-150s are hard to find these days.
new tractors need mufflers like this. industry, bring back raw exhaust please
👍👍

That 4-150 might be the most obnoxious sounding tractor I’ve ever heard…
There are other tractors that used the CAT 3208 too. I always thought they had a nice growl.
Ces roues jumelées ne servent à rien, il serait préférable qu'un pneu seul morde plus dans le terrain ....
They are pulling 3pt mounted plows. The single tire follows the furrow. They are called plowing duals when set up this way. The singe set of duals add traction.
Soil destruction at its finest. Unfortunately these farmers are destroying soil structure.
They terminated a perennial mechanically. Maybe they followed it up with an overwintering cover crop.
Oliver an whites the very best
Always nice to see the silver steeds in the field!
At times you forget how long it took to get a field prepared for the next crop. Plus they would have to disc it once or twice. A lot of time and work. Today one pass at 40' + and your ready to go. Always enjoy your videos Jason.
That’s an awesome crew! No till guys can say what they want, but I’ll always love plowing.
I need to get my 7 bottom fixed to put behind my 4-150. That 2-150 is super clean. Seems like the vast majority of those you find are just beat to death.
This 4-150 has been in hibernation for many years as a 1 Owner tractor. I suspect it will soon look as nice as the 2-150. The cab interior of the 4-150 is like brand new.
Growing up, all our ground was low, dark soil. Dad had a 5-16" MF plow he pulled with our MF 1135 tractor. It had shearbolt trip bottoms. We bought some more land and it was very stony / rocky. He went through so many bolts on that first field, he went to the MF/White dealer and bought a White 5-16" plow with auto-reset bottoms. We added a 6th bottom cuz the MF 1135 had tons more HP that the rated 120hp. It was dyno'd at 150!
This is a Great Video. Love to see the Whites working .
Pretty darn cool seeing these still working !!
No doubt. They were made to last, and also so farmers could easily work on them.
I have many hours of work on Oliver and White tractors...they were a very user friendly tractor that never got the credit they deserved, one of the most comfortable tractors I have ever operated.
Oliver was a great brand. There greatest struggle in the end was building a stronger dealer network. They had great dealers but not enough of them. Their factories also became dated and did not keep up with the times.
I have passion of agriculture especially the American revolution on machines and expertise in modern world
Just can't understand the plowing. Perfect seedbed for no till
We switched to Oliver equipment in the late 60's because of a dispute with IH over a warranty issue. Beaver's Implement in Charleston Illinois was the local dealer, over the next several years we farmed with an 1850 gas, 2- 2255"s, 4-180, 1550, 2-1650's, 2- 2-135's and a 8900 combine. Bob was great dealer and we had many years of reliable service from that equipment. My brother and i spent many hours cultivating on those 1650's, our favorite way to fight boredom was to load the floorboards with dirt clods and when close enough to each other the war was on. The crops always seemed thinner in those areas, not sure why.
My first tractor I learned to drive in the 80’s was a 4-210. I pulled a white 25 foot pull type swather for many many acres. Then hook on to the white 8650 pull type combine when crop was dry. Later on, we upgraded to a CaseIH 1682 pull type combine. No wonder my neck is still sore!! Lol.
They are getting it done for sure !
Great seeing these power houses doing their thing .
Thanks so much for giving them a chance to be heard .
God Bless our farmers and their sacrifices trying to stay afloat with a crooked government.
They won’t even stand behind our military patriots!
And the farmers aren’t thought of when your meals are Caviar and fine wines the potatoes ,beans, corn aren’t top priority
Wide open fields. Sounds of loneliness. Part of farming. Peace and quite. Just me and God. When plowing in a tilted position ,will the rear end differential pull like a positive rear end. Or is all the strain On one side of the differential ???
Some tractors 🚜 never got a chance to drive, Oliver,White, AC,and MM,wish I got the chance to drive them.
Love the sound of the twin stacks
Always thought they had a nice looking cab. Was never in one though. No dealers here
I used to run a 2-180 white tractor with a white plow it went from 5 14 to 22 inch. Can't remember the size of the plow it was a great plow
That was very special, not seeing three Whites in a video very often, thanks Jason
It was extra neat to get a 4-150 and 2-150 in the same field. They are amount the hardest WFE tractors to find.
Wow xe máy cài khỏe quá bạn ơi 🙏🔔🔔
I run a White American 80 for haying and some bucket work around the farm. Thanks
Nice tractor. Which brand is it painted after?
@@bigtractorpower Silver!

Thanks for the history lesson on White Farm Equipment. I didn't know that they owned Oliver, Cockshutt, and Minnie-Mo from the 1960's. I thought that White bought out Oliver right before they started making silver tractors in the mid-70's. I still have a thing for the old Oliver rounded sheet metal series of 66, 77, and 88.
I had three g10 50s and a 1350 I have several restored molines today
Very nice. The big block molines are some of my favorite tractors.
Can anyone tell me what year, the red was added to the White Field Boss models?
The red WFE decal was added in 1981.
RED STRIPE 2-135 , i think was last series
Red stripe models were offered 1981-1987. Series III Red Stripes we’re built 1983-1987. This WFE red stripe is not a Series III.
Sure cool equipment especially when ya don't see many around
It’s a nice line up for the farm.

I have a 2-135, 2-155 and a 4-210.
The 4-210 does all the big tillage work. 2-155 will run the 313 new holland discbine and do some offset discing. The 2-135 runs my claas 255 uniwrap baler and does most of the plowing.
Love these tractors.
That’s a great looking plowing team. Beats anything modern.
