To me it's more like I can't stop running (or flying?) for whatever reason but I simply cannot control my inertia so I run into every obstacle in way despite by best efforts at avoiding them. The most recurring dream I've had. Also I got in a car accident a few years back, and the car flying out of control was the _exact_ same feeling.
Listening to this is akin to sitting on a small island as tsunami waves close in on all sides, but they are taking forever to get to you and the anticipation is worse than them hitting
When patients in hospitals are about to enter cardiac arrest, they sometimes feel a sense of impending doom, as though they know their lives are about to end. That is exactly how this piece makes me feel. Excellent job, Louie
Ik this isn’t even related to the video but that finally makes a lot of sense. My dad just straight up drove to the hospital in the middle of the night bc he thought his back pain wasn’t normal at all. It hurts out he did actually have a heart attack
As a fan of the original, I have to say this wouldn't actually sound terrible if performed like this, but the vibe of the song goes from laid back and optimistic to incredibly tense, as if something bad is going to happen soon. It's horrifying, and that's kind of neat.
I love how this arrangement adds another meaning to the lyrics. Bobby D isn't just talking about his love being over the ocean, but outside the tonal capabilities of the song. The music is straining to reach her but can't break free, he is trapped
see I was on a cruise very recently and one night I couldn't sleep so like at 1:00 am I walked to the promenade deck to get some fresh air, while walking there the parts of the ship normally full of people were completely barren giving me some uneasiness and once I made it out to the edge of the ship, the ocean just stretched on forever into a pitch black void giving me this mix of dread and awe. I think this song pretty accurately depicts that feeling
Real talk, you can see the power of pedal tones with this kind of thing. Having the pedal C makes the tension hit hard and the dynamic swells are the main form of variation, and boy do unison trombones sound scary
Oh, lucky, in my dream the other night my Mission: Impossible team did NOT avoid death by firing squad, Order 66 style. This captures that feeling pretty well too.
It feels like there's something coming for almost 3 minutes, it's kinda lika never being able to sneeze. I love it 😆 I'm very curious as to which tools you used to achieve this piece.
Okay I genuinely love this though, the mood is completely different but shows how you can have these repeating notes but with an interesting rhythm it still can be quite interesting!
This sounds like one of those dreams where you try to run as hard as you can, but you are somehow as agile as a bag of rocks.
Hi
That's exactly what it reminded me of as well!

Sounds like England
It's almost like that scene in money python and the holy Grail with the knight running up to the castle
I've never heard autotune fighting so hard against the singer
C# jumpscare at 1:04
At least not C++
More like Db if you wanna be pedantic
Technically still a C.
@@Squarehead9364 how? Oh cause it's got C in the name?
F jumpscare at 0:25
B followed quickly by D at 0:51
this feels like a very dramatic intense version of beyond the sea that’d be in a psychological drama movie trailer
It's the trailer of a biopic about Kevin Spacey making the biopic about Bobby Darin
or that one Black Mirror episode
“My Lover Is Stuck At C”
ba-dum-TSSS
This is a severely underrated comment 😂
💀
@@Cozmixcartoonsthank you 😊
I'd have said "lost at C" but that works too :p

Heart problems actually ended Darin's life when he was only thirty-seven.
@@nixienooo😮😮😮😮
Somehow, my body knew the original was in the key of F, so this just felt like one crazy Csus chord. I am so tense
thank you I was thinking it was in C so it was confusing my ear haha
i know right? just a perpetual 5 that never resolves
Exactly - longest C sus pedal ever - I need to hear an F now!!
I was wondering why the song constantly sounded like an uncomfortable, unresolved tension.
I love that this is basically just pure tension without resolution.
Kinda like edging, but musical and a lot more ominous.
The crooner version of a shepard tone.
He has seen beyond the sea and the cosmic horrors he witnessed there continue to haunt him
👏👏👏
Imagining that this song is about Cthulu is beautiful

It’s a testament to the singing quality that it’s still listenable.
he sounds like he's in pain, beautiful job
Didn't realize that a song could survive reading the Necronomicon, but here we are.
Absolutely horrific, great job Louie

Listening to this cured me of not having anxiety.
this is so OMINOUS and foreboding lol. i listened to the whole thing and now just feel tense!
It felt like something terrible was right around the corner the whole time
I feel like I'm in a hostage situation, and this makes my skin crawl. Well done.
Me: this is horrifying
Me 5 hours later: someWHERE BEYOND THE SEA
the best (or worst!) part is that beyond the sea itself is rythmically interesting enough for this to still kinda work as a piece of music
I've listened to this song for over 4 hours in the past few weeks, and cannot describe how unwell this makes me feel. Fantastic job.
It was released the same day you commented this??
@@cranberry312 ah, I meant the original

Somewhere, beyond the C,
she's there, watching for C

This is something you hear in the background in a nightmare, truely inspired work 😂
Hearing this without knowing what the original sounds like is a surreal experience
This is spiritually destructive
Someone's trying to wake me up from an Inception
This is surprisingly unnerving. Instant favorite.
this is now a terrifying song written from the perspective of a stalker
This is so ominous. It feels like something is going to happen. No relief comes.
I had a dream the other night where I just barely avoided death by firing squad. This captures how I felt pretty well

It's almost 2 AM, and I have work in the morning, but I'm having trouble falling asleep. This song really encapsulates my current mood.

i used melodyne! surprisingly effective
I smell toast.
This is excellently done, how did you perfectly portray my unmedicated anxiety?
terrifying i’ve never felt so tense in my life. excellent work
this song feels like the audio equivalent of sleep paralysis. Great Job!

This is a nightmare, thank you sir
Hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahshaha
This feels like a wistful reprise that someone who really had no ideas for their One Day More style act 1 closer wrote
What a weird song, it's got a feeling of anticipation throughout the whole thing... I'm glad you're having fun and trying things :)
i had a panic attack the same day you uploaded this and it somehow felt how this music sounds
Insane that UA-cam still identified this as the original and yoinked your ad money
I C what you did there
This is so cursed but I oddly enough can’t help but love it. Bravo.
Beyond the sea and into the ethereal void.
Somewhere beyond the C lies another C and then another C and then another C and then another C and then another C….
The fact that this doesn't sound horrible is really a testament to Bobby Darin's singing ability tbh
I wish I had something witty to say.... all I can say is this literally made me fall over with laughter 😂😂😂
Opening of a Cold War noir film for sure; off to write this script, I will either return victorious or not at all
This is the audio equivalent of having an itch you can’t quite reach.
This is an excellent demonstration of how music is more than melodies and chords.
wow, this is intense! very cool! I only a little bit feel like someone is chasing me with a knife
I saw the warped Darin Face and knew: *Stay and Listen*.
Magnificently, beautifully, perfectly pointless. Bravo!
I wouldn't say this is enjoyable to listen to, but it is perversely fascinating.
the feels like mystical chanting...like hes casting a spell
Chilling and avant garde!
this is truly the peak of art
absolute cognitohazard what destruction does his Lover bring
This is strangely relaxing. It makes me feel like I'm alone on a small island where no one can find me. I might die but I've never felt so free.
I love that you consistently put out music of ridiculously high quality, but there's no guarantee that, without notice, you won't just put out...this.
i really love how this sounds. sending this back to the 60's for all the spooky kids
this physically hurts, thank you
You're entering Neil Cicierega territory
The original is a fun, hopeful romp. This is menacing and violent. "We'll kiss just as before" has become a threat.
Finally some good music.
god this is causing my whole body to respond as if I'm in danger. great work! i hate it!
This makes me quite upset, reminds me of nightmares I used to have. Great job!
Perfect example of Macro-tonality, what a musical genius
I love how you go from amazing music you made to shitposts just like that.
This is surprisingly threatening
I am taking psychic damage
Please release scale up/scale down on Spotify, you are so talented and underrated! (P.S. cartoon funk is peak modern indie)
Bro, is something about to happen or what? This song is so suspenseful.
FINALLY! A video I can show people when they ask what goes on in my brain most of the time!
It's like a monster is creeping up on you and it never ends.

Louie literally obeyed intrusive ideas but so geewwwdd
oh i DESPERATELY want to hear this overlayed with the original
This whole song is just building tension lmao
Can you do Be My Baby but every note is B pleaseeee
this is not what i expected in my notifications from you specifically
Terrifying until the big band solo break, which is just hilarious, I am in tears
This is oddly intense.
this is how i think i sound to my very musically skilled sister
This is just ominous
I never knew i needed this
And we're Almost
And we're Almost
And we're Almost
And we're Almost
Funny how the melody is still totally audible just through what I imagine are the changes of the upper harmonics and timber of the voice
this is what my anxiety sounds like
i am in pain. another winner from louie zong
i cant breatheeeee
This is everything but something beyond the C
I hate this, but I love that Louie made it.
She's there... watching for me!
This feels like it would play in a psychological horror movie
amazing
Bobby Darin, forced to sing various octaves of C, is still better than a lot of original music.
