Love watching you two. I lost my husband of 28 years this past November and he started watching you first. I never miss an episode and have in fact cooked your ideas myself many times! You convinced me to buy an air fryer like yours! You two make me laugh and warm my heart with how sweet your family is. Oh, and even though I’m in and from Michigan it IS called an eye. Also, hold the green peas and lima beans off my food as well! 😂

Thank you for choosing one of my family's favorite recipes! Growing up, my boys used to devour this dish and we still love it to this day. It's truly an honor to see you make it and Steven enjoy it! 💓
We made it tonight and baked it in the oven instead of frying it because our stove is broken. It was delicious this way as well. Thanks for sharing. Tasted like chicken tikka masala a bit.
Hello Mandy. My Mom is 80 and she says eye for the stove too. I have heard other people in my family say eye too. You are not alone! Love your videos ❤
Hi Mandy, we call the electric stove it's the eye but if you have a gas stove it's a burner. Regarding Steve's salsa that is the way I have been making salsa with the exception I roast everything first in my iron skillet. My Mexican Mother in law taught me that in 1975. She was a great cook. Love you'll.
Hey Mandy. Please just keep on sayin' EYE for your stove top burner ok...it is a SOUTHERN THANG! And y'all are being real...never change who you are...we love y'all dearly...cannot get enough of your cooking and fun happy times together...Thank you for sharing these amazing recipes and good times...😍
Tis a SOUTHERN THING ~~~THEY ARE INDEED AN EYE ON THE STOVE - Stove burners are called stove eyes because the term comes from original wood stoves sold on the open market. These burners used to have a swirling, circular design that could be removed whenever necessary. They looked like eyes and that is how they got their name as stove eyes.
I call it an eye on the stove. So I am there with you. The hash browns all the way are the best. I can't go to the waffle house without getting the hash browns all the way!!! I love watching you and Steven and your fur baby.
Tip for hash browns. Cut your potatoes up and microwave for about 5 minutes. Makes the potatoes soft. Dry with a paper towel and fry. Come up crisper and less time. My family loves the Waffle House. Great late night eats. Love that Steven and you are so causal about cooking. Love the banter. Love seeing Gracie Lou . Have a great weekend ❤😇
I'm the same as u w/ veggies, however add Brussel sprouts! However, split pea w/ ham is my favorite soup, so go figure!❤ u guys remind me of my husband and I, we Love to cook together! We never follow a recipe though. Always seems to turn out great!
I love cooking with ground turkey. But I always add a splash of Worcestershire sauce when I cook it. It helps make the meat cook a little darker and it enhances the flavor.
Jimmy Dean Sausage for patties and recipes with ground sausage; Jones Farm for sausage links - can’t be beat. Hey - I know what a stove eye is! 🥰 I love the fact that your cat, Grace Lou meows when she hears the word “cheese!” What a smart kitty! 😋
8:33 the hash brown bowl sounds very close to a breakfast item I've had before called hash brown sandwich, all those ingredients sandwiches between hash browns. Eye makes sense as you keep an eye on the stove while cooking but in all honesty I never called it anything, just looked to make sure it's lit. The purpose is to inform people the stove is on. Less burns that way.
Hello lovely family, i just heard you say you do not like lima beans, just try to cookthem with corn its yummy and called succotash, try it i think you will like it.
Hey there. I just had to jump in and say how much I love everything about your channel. I'm a 74 year's going senior with creaks and groans gallore but my "happy place" is the kitchen! Happy FriYAY, y'all. Thank you, everyone who has been praying for our daughter-in-law and newest granddaughter. Letty (our granddaughter) was born Tuesday. Both are doing well as expected. Mom was released today, but Letty has to stay an extra night. She has jaundice. Asking y'all to please continue to pray for them. Thank you in advance. God Bless.
I read that yesterday on See Mindy Mom....I meant to write congratulations but I was pretty sick with a fever and just didn't have it together. But congratulations to you and your family in youre precious blessing from the Lord!
How wonderful for a new Granddaughter, Alma! Praying sweet Letty has a complete healing & can go home to start life with Momma & Daddy! Blessings and much love! 🙋♀️💕💕🏡
Like you I hated Lima beans. But a friend of mine Grandma changed that. Trick is to buy them dry, not canned and prepare them like you would pintos. Season with ham and whatever else you like
I have almost the same Goulash recipe but make it with Mac & Cheese, then add more cheese bc why not? It's so rich & delicious that way! Thanks for the wonderful recipes again Mandy! Sending u more cool breezes from West Michigan. 😎⛱💨💨💕💕🏡
When I was young, my aunt made goulash with canned corned beef and it was delicious! I mostly use ground beef when I make now, but once in a while I change it up and it takes me right back to 1980 something
Grandma says," Wash your face and hands before you eat,& wash your feet before you sleep" or some may say " Go to bed".. All looks so good.. The sauce on the chicken , Yummie...♥️🌹
Can’t wait to try the goulash recipe…. Love me a good goulash. Also I love the breakfast bowl idea…. Always looking for new ways to have breakfast. Thanks for bringing joy to my day ….. hugs and cheese for Gracie Lou ❤
My son Josh is growing jalapeños this summer. We have gotten quite a few and I made some pickled jalapeños for him. We had wondered about the red ones. We have been afraid to leave them, thought they might get soft. No okra unless it’s fried. Most other veggies I’m fine with.
I totally agree! Okra fried or at least in soup so you can't feel the slime. Jalapenos are amazing. I grew some a few years back. But we had to postpone gardening until we get a proper fence around the area. Our dogs were stealing nearly all of our produce.
I had a cat named popcorn, I named her that because she liked popcorn as a kitten. Turned out her favorite food was cheese, every time we opened the fridge she would rub up against the cheese drawer. She has even been shut in the fridge. She lived to be 16 and her last food was cheese!!! Gracie so is a cat to my heart! ❤
You know I already commented about how many times I’ve made the salsa in a week! On my way to make more now! I ain’t changin’ nothin! Perfect as is! Don’t have to worry about it lasting longer since it’s gone in two days!😂
My momma made this goulash when we were little. I'm 64, so that was a long time ago. She also added canned Veg-all and canned cubed baby potatoes. It was so good and I'm not a canned vegetable girl. She had 6 little girls, and this was a way to stretch the meat.
I grew up calling the burner the eye as well, and by the way, you can use ground turkey in any recipe that you would use grond beef in like tacos, chili, spaghetti, stuffed peppers, etc. and if it's properly seasoned you won't even tell the difference but you don't have all of that grease to worry about and it's cheaper!
I make the copycat Waffle House Bowl with all the same ingredients that you used, but add a small can of drained green chiles. My husband eats them in tortillas as breakfast burritos. I also have the same tomato knife and love it.
Hi Mandy, I love all veggies, except eggplant. I have tried to fix it many ways and just can't find a way to like it. Love your videos and can't wait for the next one. Have a great weekend.🥰
It IS an eye on the stove where you are. People forget we are from all over the world, not just our itty bitty parts of it. Yummy on the Waffle Bowl. I love lots of variations , all without eggs.
When do you start making fall / Autumn meals? Do you consider August the starting of fall months or is it closer September October? Food looks amazing as always
@@briannehill7583 So true. I just can't remember I thought the last few years she started showing recipes August/September. My boys are ready for "fall" food
@@ashleywtson5788 I'm siding with the boys! I'm ready for all things fall! I made a pumpkin dessert last Friday at the request of my daughter. It was so yummy and felt so right lol. If I have to see Halloween displays and articles online then its only right I should be permitted to eat pumpkin spice.
Hey! My husband & I watch your videos together & always have a good time! He asked me - “Do you know who Steven sounds like? Tom Hanks!” Lol. Now that he’s said that, that’s all I hear. We truly appreciate your content 💜
That waffle House dish looks so good, I'm making that for dinner tonight. Thanks for sharing that, I love a bowl type dinner where everything is layered and piled. 😉
I learned a trick about potatoes to get them crispy. Dice them to the size you’d like. Then boil them like mashed potatoes. Then fry them in your pan with butter or oil. It gets them so crispy!!!🐱
The Chicken Diablo! Yes! I visited the “Lion” yesterday and actually have boneless chicken (on sale and the yellow sticker)! Thank you again for another great video- I think you and Steven should take your show on the road! Y’all are just too funny and your comedic timing is spot on! Have a wonderful weekend 🌻😊
I believe Steven’s scrambled eggs were the most perfect scrambled eggs I’ve ever seen!! He should do a video on how he cooked them! Heat temp? butter or oil? Etc. Thanks so much!!
We've always called our stove burner an eye. Large eye, small eye, we knew what the other person was all talking about. Maybe this is something regional? My family, friends and I are located in Southern West Virginia. I love your videos! I'm so glad you have Steven there to help you from time to time. Having someone there you can call on or lend you hand is so nice and I HATE getting popped with grease too!
Mandy, I was the kid that begged for brocoli and brussel sprouts, my Granny was and old farm wife and she didn't know how to cook them, she ended up calling the lunch lady at school to find out how, and my favorite veggies is big green limas and green sugar peas both drenched in butter. Yummmmmmm!
Yes, my mother called it an eye on the stove as well! Don't let anyone pick on you. I used to live in Asheville and sure do miss the greenery and southern energy. Living in Texas now. Stay just as you are. Im very entertained and enjoy watching you.
ohmygoodness...you make me laugh. I'm born and raised in NW MO and have NEVER heard a burner called an eye...also the veggie I cannot stand is BRUSSEL SPROUTS. I think I like all the rest. Thank you for your laughs and all you do to entertain my hubby and I.
The "eye" on the stove 😂 I think my mom calls them eyes too. I call them burners. But your southern accent says "aah" instead of "eye." Like... AAAH!! There's an AAH on the stove! 😛 love it. I talk southern sometimes and I'm only in Indiana lol
My mom called the burner an eye too. She was born in Virginia. But moved to California in the late 50"s. So her last 3 children were born in California. But the first 7 were born in Virginia. I really enjoy watching you cook. I love cooking but am unable to do a lot of it now.
One other thing about lima beans--I don't know how you ended up with dry lima beans mine are so tender & I love the texture the creaminess on the inside and the softness of the outside-- little pillows of deliciousness
I thought calling the stove burner an eye was a southern thing. I love the sound of rain and thunder too. in the southwest have not had much rain so I do not waste any opportunity. You and your family make me smile, thank you.
I made the diablo sauce and shredded the breast of a rotisserie chicken heated it up and WOW - so good. I had PLENTY of the sauce left over, so I took 2 pounds of ground beef and made a meatloaf with the left-over sauce. I saved some to top it with and again - WOW! AMAZING! I added Mexican shredded cheese, onions, 2 eggs, a sleeve of saltines, salt and pepper (I added a little too much salt) --- it's so good. Ya'll have to try it.
Getting caught up on your videos because I’ve been taking a break from social media. Anyway, I love goulash . This one looks great. I sometimes will make it with pork sausage . Adds amazing flavor. Don’t even need to add any additional spices. Just pork sausage, onions, peppers , garlic, elbow macaroni and I usually just use crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce. So good!
Oh my goodness 😂 Steven is great. I loved his trying not to like it face. Oh and yes I call it an eye too. Grew up in East Tennessee and live in Western NC now. I think it must be a southern thing.
Hi Mandy, I love your videos. I make your breakfast bowls, but a little different. I make it like Bob Evens Restaurants. They use sauage gravy I stead of just meat. It's so good. Put green peppers in with the potatoes and onions. It's so good. Geri from Highland IN. Love the way you show each other your love.
Like you Mandy, I don't care for Green Lima Beans or Green Peas... Neither do I like Brussel Sprouts ...but most Vegetables I absolutely Love... That Sweet Little Gracie Lou is adorable, she's my favorite side kick... ❤🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰
Mandy We are trying to eat healthy but my husband is not a fan of ground Turkey so I am always looking for recipes. We love breakfast any time of day. Yum
I'm with you, Lima Beans and green peas, I also don't care for beets. I once told my Gma I couldn't eat beets, because they would stain my dentures, she laughed so hard, she cried and I didn't have to eat the beets! Win!!! 🤣🤣
We love the awful waffle! My husband and I actually met at the Mt Juliet TN Waffle House! So on the day of our wedding we stopped at the waffle we met at for a late night meal and continued on to our honeymoon in pigeon Forge TN! My husband had the cheesesteak sandwich and hash browns and I had the cheesy egg plate with hash browns and extra pickles on the side. Something about them pickles is so good! We have been married for 17 years and go to the waffle on our anniversary every year for tradition! Love the hash brown bowl! 😊 love you guys and your videos!!
Mandy! Don't write Lima beans off completely...if you can get ahold of fresh lima beans (( especially from New Jersey) you cook them in a LOT of butter and they are soft and delicious and melt in your mouth!!! I'll send you my grannies recipe when I find it. YUM❤
Lol once again some delicious recipes and you all are so much fun and really make me laugh a lot. Gracy lou is just so cute, I have a kitty that does the same thing when he knows that I have cheese, and I give him some and he is super happy to get it. Looking forward to more of your wonderful recipes, have a wonderful rest of your day, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂😍🤗😻💜

I’m a long time viewer and subscriber. I cooked a number of your recipes for a friend I was working with the last few days btw. He said I did a bunch of “elaborate” cooking… lol! (He liked it all!)
Using soy sauce is like using a little pinch of MSG without actually adding MSG (I love that stuff by the way). It is there for color sometimes. I like to use it and not only in Eastern Asian dishes. I just simply love the recipes you gather! I never failed with any of them. And I adore your lovely old whining lady 😄I have a lilac tortie as well and I swear they are the most adorable cat I could I ever have...also the most jealous :'D Love you all! ❤
The common-tator needs to can his salsa in jars, but no oil can be added. That way he will be using fresh tomatoes. This 66 year old granny loves to watch your videos.

Our first dog when we got married had a brown body and all white legs….so I named him Britches and it really suited him🥰
I thought calling the stove burner an eye was a southern thing.
So good!
ive opened up red bell peppers and it had baby green peppers growing in it
Oh my goodness 😂 Steven is great. I loved his trying not to like it face. Oh and yes I call it an eye too. Grew up in East Tennessee and live in Western NC now. I think it must be a southern thing.
I heard when someone is special southern people say bless your ❤️
Hi Mandy, I love your videos. I make your breakfast bowls, but a little different. I make it like Bob Evens Restaurants. They use sauage gravy I stead of just meat. It's so good. Put green peppers in with the potatoes and onions. It's so good. Geri from Highland IN. Love the way you show each other your love.
Haha, we've never heard of calling a stove burner the Eye👁!! 😂😂 Agree w you on the green peas, only in a soup❤
Just keep being southern. It's charming😊❤
Mandy, I LOVE your southern accent. I undesrtand it perfectly
I’m with you on the lima beans! I have never liked them either, at all!
I’m surprised the French chicken didn’t make the favorites. That one has made it into my monthly rotation. So simple and so much flavor!
I have always called the "burner" an eye, but my Momma was born and raised in NC and SC. So maybe it's a southern thing.
Hey yall, it is called an eye on the stove! Country Southern Thang! Love yall, thanks for all your wonderful recipes! Love to Gracie Lou!
Use green lime beans n sweet corn with butter it's called sucotash
There is a core remover for tomatoes
Just when I didn't think you two couldn't be any cuter together, you show me you can. Really looking forward to the subbie supper soon.
Like you Mandy, I don't care for Green Lima Beans or Green Peas... Neither do I like Brussel Sprouts ...but most Vegetables I absolutely Love... That Sweet Little Gracie Lou is adorable, she's
my favorite side kick... ❤🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰
Mandy, I’m from NC and you are correct…that is an “eye” on your stove! Be care…that “eye”is still hot😊. Love your channel ❤.
Mandy
We are trying to eat healthy but my husband is not a fan of ground Turkey so I am always looking for recipes. We love breakfast any time of day. Yum
I think you're going places with your happy, refreshing attitude.
To keep things warm while you are cooking other items, you can put them in the crockpot on warm and then cook the next thing. Works great.
Gracie frantically looking between you two to see which one had the cheese cracked me up so hard i almost choked on my drink!😹
I just love y’all so much! I know you and Steven would be my friends if I met you! I’ve never commented before, but thought you might like to hear how much joy you bring into my life! I’m a long time viewer and subscriber.
I cooked a number of your recipes for a friend I was working with the last few days btw. He said I did a bunch of “elaborate” cooking… lol! (He liked it all!)
I say eye of the cooktop too. Also I like to use my airfryer to make the hash browns while I use the cooktop for the other.
You could put your oven on the lowest temp it goes to, to keep your food warm while cooking everything else! 😊
All the dinners look great! I call it the eye on the stove, my mother and both of my grandmothers did too! Thank you for sharing these recipes!!
I like that he likes his food
I'm from West TN and we call it an eye on the stove too. We use the term burner as well, but more often than not, I say eye.
