    Hey James. Love all the reviews you have. Thanks for all you folks do. I’m about to get a new warpig (warranty issue). The Ride rep asked if I wanted the same size or if I wanted to size up after we chatted a bit. I’m 5’11”, 175lbs, size 9.5 boots and fairly athletic. I’m debating sizing up to the 154 from my old 151. My thinking is this will give me a bit more stability for turns and speed and offer better float. But will this be too much board for me? I should also mention it’s a quiver board for me, not necessarily a daily.
    Thanks!

      Thanks for the good words! So I would not size up to the 154 and yes its way too much board for a size 9.5 boot. Ride makes these boards super wide so going from a 151 to 154 is a massive change in width compared to other boards. I rode both the 154 and 151. My size 9's could barely turn the 154. I didn't even like the 154 as a quiver ride for good conditions as it was hard to even turn on clean groomers. The 151 is still slow to initiate a turn but its a fun kind of slow. If you want to change things up maybe consider getting the 151 Superpig as that little camber between the feet makes it a lot more aggressive than the Warpig.

    Hey James! Great review as always! I use to ride my old NS Evo 155 w Burton Malavita M and Nike Kazoo US11 boots and love the setup. I’m looking for some fun rides (most in piste) some but no much in pow, but didn’t like anything STIFF. What setup do you recommend (Warpig vs Psychocandy)? Any suggestion for bindings? And new boots with BOA? I’m 178cm/87kg… Best regards and thank you!

      Thanks! Boot size really helps too? Warpig is wider/more centered. Psychocandy is a little more narrow/set back/turny. So more personal preference as both are great boards. Union Strata's, Rome Katana's, Vice or Nitro Team Pro's could be fun with this board. Hit me here if you want more in depth advice. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/

    I ride a 158 Ride Timeless and looking to upgrade. I like the warpig but dont know if I should go 158, 154, or 151. I like the 151 board. I'm 6ft. 200lb. size 12 shoe. Advanced rider. I've grown to like the idea of a little bit of a smaller board but not sure which size to go with. What do you recommend?

    How does the warpig compare to Ride Shadowban? Looking for a fun springy do it all board for east coast that can also carve great on hard stuff

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 місяців тому

      Two massively different rides. Shadowban is longer and narrow with camber between the feet and no taper. Warpig is very short/wide and flat between the feet. Neither do that well on east coast hard stuff. Look for the Gremlin, YES Hybrid, and YES Optimistic if you want a stable, shorter/wider hard snow carver. I would go 151 for size 12 boots. Boot size is most important, then weight and then height so make sure his big boots aren't hanging over the board. Cheers!

    Hey! I currently ride a 162W. I am 6’3” 190lbs and wear a size 12.5 boot. On the fence between 154 and 158. With this new board I really want something smaller and more maneuverable! And the warpig seems like the perfect way to get a shorter more agile feel while still being able to handle a larger person like myself. Prior to research I was thinking of a board in the 157W range…. Which to my understanding would be the equivalent of the 154 or even 151 warpig! So getting a volume shifted 158 would be huge compared to the 157w I was shooting for… it’s thought
    to get over the shock of seeing a number so low! Lol Given that they are both plenty wide for my boots, and I am looking to for something on the more nimble side, would you recommend the 154 over the 158?
    Thank you so much!!

      The Warpig is a super wide board. XS/142 is too narrow for a board of this type. Small is for sure the choice for your specs. It's meant to be ridden a good bit shorter and wider. What make, model and size board do you ride now

    hello there! I have a question if you can help me... i am interested in the new warpig 2023. I am 5' 93'' and 185 lbs. Size boot 12. All mountain riding style with spins, curving and jumps. currently i am riding with 158 warpig (2020). do you think i should continue with the same size, 158? or shall i get a smaller one? Of course i dont want the boot and the binding to get outside the board so i am bit confused with the size choice. Thank you in advance!

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Рік тому +1

      You shouldn't have toe/heel drag with the 154 or 158. These are very wide boards. I think if you liked the 158 then do it again but if you want something a little smaller easier to control/play around with then the 154 would be a better choice. If you emailed me saying you are 5'9", 185lbs and a size 12 I would have recommended the 154 and not the 158.

      Hi, thank you for sharing! I am a female, 5’6, 130-135lb, boot size 7.5(US women). I can’t decide between 142 and 146 Psychocandy. Could you suggest the right size for me? Thank you.

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  Рік тому

      @@xbxu753 The 142 (waist width 250mm) will fit your W7.5 boot size better than the 146 (waist width 257mm). The 142 will take less effort to turn from edge to edge. And it is within the correct weight range as well.
      But it depends on your riding style and what you want it for. Both board sizes would probably work, but the 142 will turn quicker and the 146 will take a bit more effort. The 146 will have more float and the 142 will be slightly more maneuverable.
