Awesome video James! I am a similar height 6.0ft / weight (187lbs) and boot size 10.5 would it still be ideal to have the 151 size wise as I feel mostly in between sizes on many boards?
So with the extra height and your larger boot size (10.5 vs. 9) you could easily pull off the 154 but you could do the 151 as well. It really depends on what you want from the board and how you want it to ride. If its all about hard carving, speed and better float in pow go 154. If you want something really easy to control in all conditions and a more playful ride go 151. Cheers!
No problem. Man the Aero is soo different from the Superpig I don't know where to start. Aero is a normal size snowboard with pretty much full camber and not much set back on board. The Superpig is short, super wide, a little more set back on board and has a mellow camber between the bindings. The Superpig is much more well rounded. The Aero will be more fun to carve for most because of all that camber but it won't float well compared to the Superpig.
@@thegoodridesnow thanks man! I asked that because both boards win high score on carving on your website. I bought the aero and just came back from a 5 day snowboard trip at Perisher Australia. The aero just kills all my previous boards, combined. I mean I’m already 100% happy with it, thanks for the review. But I now have an opportunity to get the super pig or warpig so am just wondering how different they are comparing to the aero and whether the wider superpig will make learning agressive carving easier
I weigh about 245, size 12 boots, 6'1" and a very capable rider who likes to point it as much as possible. I'm leaning towards the 158 based on the spec sheet but everyone says size down size down so I'm not sure whether to get the 154 or 158? I normally ride a 161w capita doa but feel like it gets sketchy at high speed
Yeah the DOA 161w is not a very damp or wide board and not ideal for your weight. It's just barely good for your 12's. Regarding the Superpig, your 12's would be a little happier with the 154 but your 245lbs would be happier with the 158. It will be a little more challenging to turn but you might really like the bigger size. Hit me up here if you want to get into this in more detail. shop.thegoodride.com/merchandise/gear-advice/
@@thegoodridesnow OK, thanks for that. I don't know why but om being drawn to these short and wide boards. Are they that good or just another way for companies to keep us spending money? You don't see that many pros using short, wide boards, the majority stick to regular width and length with mostly camber it seems. Sure they help with toe and heel drag but in all honesty that only really applies if you're euro carving but how many of us do that? If you had to choose between regular Size and the short wide boards which would you grab?
@@bob6693 sorry I didn't see this. For some reason YT held this for review. Its not just marketing hype for sure and its a lot more than just being wide for Euro Carving. I have several short/wides and several regular size rides in my quiver. Both are very fun, offer a different feel underfoot and many could be a daily driver if it calls to you. It is very hard to generalize a short/wide feel as all have different things going for them from model to model. If I were you I'd try to demo a few short/wides this winter to see how they feel for you.
I have a superpig but looking for a second board to add to my quiver. Looking for a more nimble easier to turn directional resort cruiser to go along with my pig. Any suggestions?

I’m about 6’1 185 and size 11 boot. I can get a size 154 for a great deal. Do you think I can make it work? Or would a 151 be ideal? I currently have a 153 orca
I have similar specs to you with a size 9 boot and weigh 190. I have the hybrid Uninc in a 153 and love that board but want a similar feel that is a little more all mountain. Would a 151 in a super pig give me a similar feeling as far as turning and a little more all mountain feel with more tail. Lastly would the new PYL UNINC in a 157 be a better board for a more all mountain feel than the hybrid.
I think the 151 Superpig is for sure the call and will compliment your Hybrid well. The PYL Uninc is a great ride but pretty tapered so not what you are looking for.

@@thegoodridesnow I am 6’0 and I ride a 152 gnu money right now, but i get a lot of boot out on it as it is too skinny and i want something better for all mountain riding/carving
Probably the 151. The 154 might feel like too much board for your weight and even your boot size. It is super wide so the polar opposite of what you have now.
my foot size is 275-280, my boot size total is 300, if on 154 board, is my boot out of the board or there still be extra space left? how about 158 board? and standing is 21,-9
I’ve never ridden the warpig but have a twinpig. I’m debating between the superpig and warpig I like the park but I want to do like steeper runs mogules and side hits more. Any suggestions?
Not sure if those are the boards for you then. Their width makes it a little tough for tight turns in steep runs or moguls. They are fine for side hits though. You might want to look for other Ride boards like the Mtn Pig for that or look at other Brands.
Check out our shadowban review where we directly review it to the algorhythm. The super pig is massively different so its hard to start. Super pig is short, wide and tapored. The algo and shadow are traditional sized and non tapered

Hey James how responsive on turns do you think the 151 super pig would be if it was paired up with regular step ons with ion boots size 10?
Cheers
More responsive than with most other bindings but it still is a wide board that doesn't initiate a turn quickly until you get that sidecut engaged.

Would you recommend Union Ultra bindings on this board or is the Atlas better?
Ultras work well if you size it right. So do Union Forces if you want more response

The SuperPig is pretty wide and feels like a little more board than the 2024 Stale Fish in a 154. I'd say it's probably a little closer to the 157.
