I owned mine from 8 weeks. She lived to be 18 yrs old. Never was a problem cause I loved her, trained her and walked her everyday. I miss her sweet disposition. Her name was Annie. Everyone loved her.
Got ours at 12 weeks old. The one before her passed at the age of 19, never once aggressive. This new one, though is very possessive and aggressive. We do everything you said and rwallt more than we did with the older one. Sometimes those things just aren’t the answer and there may be other reasons. Also, implying that an aggressive dog is aggressive because it’s not loved enough is disgusting. How dare you.
We miss you Annie. I have a female tzu myself, three years old and I’ve had her since six weeks. Love this damn dog and hope she lives to be 18 too. My best friend.
I just adopted a lovely 1.5 year old male shih tzu/lhasa apso mix from a rescue shelter. He’s been alone for too long over very long periods and also lived in several homes and been giving up on as people couldn’t handle him which make him always feel abandoned. He has all these destructive behaviors but in an extreme way, it’s so bad he’s on medication to help him calm down but it doesn’t help much and I’d loved to help him without the need of it. He’s like desperate for attention and extremely needy. He’s scratching his claws against my skin, breathing fast, barking, whining and bite/nip. He also bite when I put on the leash, try to groom, touch him, play games etc. He’s barking a lot at the outdoor. This natural attention seeking behavior has become obsessive. I’ll do anything I can to give him another chance in life. He’s super stressed and hyperactive/energic and I take him for lots of walks (he’s much better outside, maybe because of the feeling of freedom), I play with him, give him mental stimulation indoor and training tricks. I got him home a week ago and I can already see some improvements but it has been tough and rely on giving him attention all day, he doesn’t relax if I don’t give all my attention to him (like I can’t even focus on making myself some food so I haven’t been eating much these days) or we are outside where it’s more for him to explore, but he can now sleep through the whole night in my room with me except sometimes suddenly barking for nothing and it’s hard to make him stop. First two nights he even didn’t let me sleep out of what I believe was boredom and insecurity. He scratched up my skin and I had to sleep with shoes and outdoor clothing for protection. They were even talking about letting him go as his separation anxiety and extreme stressed behavior is bad for him, he definitely isn’t happy, but I don’t see him as aggressive (only towards bigger dogs at walks), but to me his more needy and wants to play and be loved. (Showing it the wrong way with nipping and scratching and it’s more desperation than angry). I don’t think he has learned much. But now he also lets me touch and cuddle him more and more and I can tell he’s enjoying it. Only wish he would let me groom him as his fur is very tangled up and must hurt. I will do anything to be patient and fulfill his needs, I always stay calm, I’m never mad at him, if he bite/nipping I stand up and stop for a few seconds or if it gets out of control I make a high pitched sound like a pup and it helps a little, and I always and only focusing on positive rewarding with treats and cuddle when he act good and I try my best not to correct him in any way which could make the situation worse but when the barking gets out of hand and not even the sound of a box with treats can get him out of it I have to do everything at once like say his name, snap my fingers, shake the treat box like crazy and making myself VERY interesting😆 I’m his last hope. Do you believe I can save him and give him the home and love he deserves? Will he eventually get more calm as I gain his trust? He licks my face so I want to believe he’s starting to like me. He’s very lovable and misunderstood little furball and I’m so glad he came to me as I’ll never leave him😢❤
The dedication and love you're showing him is truly heartwarming. Given his difficult past and the behaviors you've described, it's understandable that he requires a lot of attention and care. It's great to hear that you're already noticing some improvements; this is a positive sign that with time, patience, and consistent training, he can become more relaxed and less anxious. The world needs more people like you ❤️
@@marissadulay4467Chihuahuas make wonderful companions. They are easy to care for and require little grooming since the long-haired Chihuahuas' coats do not tangle easily. Being a small breed, they also have lower food requirements compared to larger dogs. Chihuahuas can be territorial, affectionate, and very attached to their owners. How long have you had your Chihuahua?
Om so happy for both of uou ..ot must be be so frustrating .. I have a shizue puppy he's 3.5 months old a real handful for this old lady . I'm blessed I have help from my daughter who lives in attached home.. Wiggles slerps all night in his play pen next to my bed . He playful bites but I gently tell him no. He's doing pretty good on potty . He likes to sut by the windo above the couch and watch .. Hi I lost 2 dogs this month . And with out wiggles I dont think I could have gotten through the grief Please dOnt think about getting rid of your shizue love will win him over.. GODS BLESSINGS.
I have had three Shih Tzus and each one had it's own personality. All three were easily potty trained and did not have a barking issue unless they need water or used a pee pee pad and wanted it changed. Shih Tzus are the best.
My Shit Tzu is not a barker unless as stated in previous statements, wanting something. The person had started training her both on pads and outside. Then when I got her, I placed pads in different places and if she use it I bragged on her and gave a small treat. But the first few times I picked her u p and sat her on the pad and kept saying pee pee and then she knew to always use it. They have a device that if they bark, it makes a loud sound (only the dog hears) that is suppose to stop them from barking. Most pet stores have those and will explain how to use it.
You made out great than. My pup was determined to make a potting where he wanted. For a long time. I had to block his wanted areas off. 2 months later I figured he forgot about it. Since he had been using the pads on his own. He went right for it while looking on me😄.
Mine is only 3 months old. He never appreciates cage. He don't usually barks but if he stays in the cage too long he will cry or bark incessantly. He play bites all the time sometimes it hurts. But all in all he's very gentle, sweet, he follows me everywhere. We have american bullies too and he's cool with them. I never thought shih tzu would be so loving. ❤
I’m not sure why because I’ve never taught my littleAbby one thing but she does none told these things. I get excited if I can get her to bark. She the sweetest most loving little dog I’ve ever seen. She’s a blessing ❤.
Totally agree with you, i love this breed, I had a shi tzu for 15 years, the love of my life, I never had any behavior problem with him, patience and gentle care cure anything, I miss him very much
I've had mine for 9 days and he is 9 weeks old. Bless his heart, he is beautiful and loving but soooo defiant. He has just found his voice but doesnt bark much. Potty training isn't going very well, he chews my carpet, harasses the cat and his "nips" feel like a painful pinch. I've never had such a time training a puppy but I'm watching and reading everything I can get my hands on!
I’m with you. I just brought a teddy bear shitzu and I’m having a hard time potty training him. He’s bitting on everything including himself and me. I’n trying not to get frustrated
@Umunique Mccaib Girl yesss!! Mine is the same!! It's like he is ubtrainable as far as potty training and I've tried popping then putting him on the puppy pad and also putting in the crate after he does it. Neither has worked.
Yes. patience. They do learn. consistency is a must. Mine has been with wee wee pad since 3 months, and now, dance in 2 paws, pray with me, and very clearly says "I love you." It was not easy, but we got thru her baby and teething time. Had her sterilized. Do not give up, they do learn, they become so obedient. Now she is begging and I will do what I learned here. I was putting her food by my chair and that was working a little. I will use the sit and treat suggestion and she will love it. Her name is Chlóe. Shih Tzu's are great dogs.
My shih tzu Sofa Doafa is the absolute greatest joy of my life. I expected she would just love me; but she loves the whole family equally. She is a rescue and the most perfect angel who is equally playful and sweet. She has a schedule and will let us know if we are off it; silly girl. She was seriously sent from God
Boy I agree ..I lost my wonderful Billy boy and beleive God has him in a place for our lost ones. I also beleive he sent me my new boy Wiggles... BILLY BOY WAS SO CALM AND GOOD.. THIS LITTLE ONE we named Wiggles is of complete opicite from Billy boy.. Wiggles is so sweet so cute ..but he has so much inergy.. He's doing well on potty training. Still goes occasionally pn nnoo, bites Learned how to bark... It will be awhile before he can sleep with me.... He has a play pen in the family room and bedroom To sleep in or when I have to be gone .. He is so darn cute ..I live him with all my heart.... He's my boy 😅
My girl is almost 24 yrs old. She is slowing down a bit and napping more. She is a spoiled, entitled, bossy, beloved darling. I am cherishing the time I have left with her.
Your lucky you have had your shih tzu for that long. I wish mine would have lived a little longer, he died 4 mos ago he was 16, I would have given anything for him to live that long
You are so blessed..I lost mine at 25 now have a 3.5 month old .puppy .. He's a handfulso cute ..hand biting were working in he follow my side in the house when walking My maltese wasn't to happy she us 12 ..not used to wanting to play but it's getting her up and moving . Wiggles is very playful has learned to fetch and return . . He sleeps in a play pen or if I have o go out. He sleeps all night .which is great ..I want to teach him yo sleep with me but so fearful he would fall off my bed. My elder shizu U lost always slept cuddled under my arm ..I miss that . ..but truly a shizue is so sweet and loveable....I know the puppy months are the hardest .. Patience it will come...
My dog Fredo is half-Shih Tzu and half-Maltese, but he really just looks like a Shih Tzu. He does some of these things, but not others. For one thing, he has always barked like crazy, especially if there is a dog walking by outside or he doesn't get his after-dinner Dentastix treat on time. We tried the coins in the can trick early on, but he only barked more, haha. I always thought the barking was from the Maltese side, but I guess it is also a Shih Tzu thing. He does beg for food, but sometimes by barking, other times by crying. As for aggression, I mentioned he barks at dogs outside from inside the house, but if he's face to face with another dog (even one smaller than him), he wimps out! He's not perfect, but he's perfect for us.
We have 2 shitzusxaussies brother & sister - now 18 months old. They have accidents sometimes inside but usually pretty good. They are barkers outside when others walk their pets & they only stop when they can’t see the other dogs. I go outside with them & sit in lawn chair & then it’s not too bad for barking .
Thanks for the post my family doesn't have any behavior problems with our babies. They're part of the family and they tap on our thighs whenever they need to go out to do their business. I have seven babies back home 2 cute and adorable peek a poms, 2 adorable shih tzu, Dobermann, German shepherd and rottweiler. I love them all deeper than my life medical student Malaysia. God bless.✌🙏
I recently adopted/ rescued a a shitzu male mix that was surrendered on his actual 2nd birthday to the Humane Society by a concerned family member that disclosed he was mistreated, neglected & abused & left tied outside during storms. They had him fostered for a month by a college student. I loved him at once but soon saw that he had severe fear aggression & would bite me without any notice. I used a highly referred training facility that helped him overcome these issues. He now comes when called, will sit, stay, go down & shake both paws. He is a different dog & I reinforce his training daily. He is happily in his forever home with never a moment of abuse & neglect. Best money I ever spent. He is a good boy now 100% of the time. I had to learn to read him & respect his boundaries. He does nothing without permission & seems so happy to be in our family. He is loved & treasured. He is so funny with his antics & play. I am the better for having him in my life.
❤ i love my shih Tzu. I've now had him for 5 years and he was so easy to potty. Train, I use the one word command potty, show them where he goes, and since he was a baby even after his surgery, he would go if he was on pink pills. It was so funny cuz. He'd walk 2 steps forward and 3 back. But he made it to his area and he would do his business. I think shittos are very smart and intelligent. If you take the time, I tell mine to sit and he sits, and he has no problem of being commands❤🐶❤🐶
I have a shih tzu, when she was younger she rarely barked but she started barking excessively recently, she became very reactive, idk the reason there's no changes in our home to cause her stress or anything. The vet told us she's healthy.
Hello. Ours is 1 month old Shuh Tzu. I know It was too early to bring it. But his mom caught some infection so had to bring early. Just let us know how to handle excessive peeing here and there. Small pees, everywhere. Almost 20-30 times a day
Mine only barked at weird noises - the postman had a squeaky front brake plus we had the icecream truck who delivered boxes using a bell to ding ding ding ding announce he was around. He roamed our streets for an hour as the dog barked at the noise. In the good old days we had paperboys - kids who delivered / sold weekend papers but blew a whistle to let you know they were there. He used to bark to tell my father who was there for him to get a paper. He knew my car's sound & would bark if he heard my car. Strangers to the house were given a surprise as when he heard the door bell ring he would bark.
We've raised, whelp, and fostered over 20 shih tzus, and they each have their own personality and yet all love the same. Personally, we have had four. We lost our only boy during Covid weeks before turning 13. One of our girls passed in January 2023 at the age of 15 and we have a little girl who will be 16 in a few months. And she has just started with some arthritis. But has has brought us all so much love and lastly, we rescued a little girl and she is 8. She loves having a friend, so we will be looking for a younger Friend in the future. Not one replaces another. It just brings more love ❤️ and now have become companion pet's and each one holds a piece of our heart ❤️
I appreciate your videos and gorgeous Bella. We have a Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix) and his behavior shows a lot of Shih Tzu-dominant attributes. He has an 8 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund sister. Our biggest problem he can be vicious when we try to groom him. I'm working on it but probably need a pros help! Great channel.
I had a shihtzu that was a rescue from a person who was moving and couldn’t take him….…we got him when he was only 1 year old…he became my best friend..I had none of these issues with him…my lap was never empty. He loved going for walks…he went every where with me. He was not a friend of the veterinarian…who was a friend of ours….he needed eye surgery at one point and came through it fine, yet he would cry and cry loudly when put in a cage waiting for me to pick him up after surgery..the vet called and asked me to pick him up as soon as possible as he was disturbing the entire office….I jumped in the car and headed to the office…the minute I step through the door his crying stopped…..we had this dog for 13 years at the end he was blind and deaf…it’s been over 10 years since he passed …I still miss him every day.
I got a girl called Lola which is a Shih Tzu, she's really energetic and everytime someone passes my house she barks because she thinks they're going to harm us 😂❤
My Little girl Faith is so beautiful and sweet. She also has Sisters that are a St. Bernard, a German shepherd, and a Samoyed. The only problem I have is she is a fussy eater I have gone through many high-end Dog Food’s I bought her she likes them for a couple of days and then forget about it. Thank God, I have three other garbage disposals that have four legs😊. if anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Other than that she is a Joy ❤❤❤️❤️Love Her and her Sisters. O did I mention she plays with one of my cats there Best Friends 🤗
my shih tzus were never barkers or show aggression , the only time they barked was when someone came to the door and they would bark for a few mins longer then quit. My one male shih tzu wanted to be with people but wasn't as affectionate as his son was, he took after his momma, she didn't have a mean bone in her body and loved everyone. My male got cushings disease when he was 8 and had to be put down at 10, my female got heart problems and had to be put down at 14 as she had fluid on her lungs and my grandpup lived to be 16. They were the best dogs and so adorable even when they gotten older they still looked like a pup. They were spoiled rotten and my female had that snooty look down to a tee. I miss them all so much, even my 1st shih tzu Sammy.
My shorkie is no problem , she is the sweeties and funniest, loves the car. Ioves the stroller, loves the back yard, loves the standard poodles. Lives every one she meets, no problem except when i puts on my coat, she feels she can come but not always so i say no no , and its ok with her than she go and stay with her mates always brings back something 4 her ❤
Mine barks at everyone he sees while on walks or in the car if I take him with me somewhere and leave him for a few minutes it sounds like someone is terrorizing him lol and he barks when he sees other dogs but barks mostly at people 😅the neighbors are all afraid of my little baby boy lol but I love him to pieces and I could not live without him he is my heart ♥️ 🐶
My Buddy is a rescue he is 6yrs old & I have to walk him after dark bc he goes off when he sees other people walking & Dogs...last nte I was walking & I crossed the road & stood behind a tree to try & stop him from barking BUT alas he still went right off even thu I was holding him in my arms....its strange bc when I picked him up he was with another dog... its hard isn't it!!! Blessings Marc from Australia...🙂
@@marclayton3537 I definitely can relate to you so much! 🙂 My dog is a rescue as well Like buddy 🐾 Give buddy some scratches for me. Blessings from Pennsylvania. 🤗
I guess I got lucky with my Shih Tzu. He was potty trained in one day. Seriously. He rarely barked. Never bit. He was super affectionate. He always followed my lead with people he didn't know. Yes, I am partial. But I also know the truth. He was a super good boy.
My Shih Tzu was toilet trained at 10 weeks old. He’s now 3 1/2 and he’s never done his toilet business in the house. At 6 months old, he stopped doing it in the garden as he sees the garden as an extension of his home. When he needs the toilet he’ll go to the front door (wanting to go out) but never the garden because that’s where he plays.
My Lully is very smart and well mannered for the most part . Our main issue is number 3 he snuck and ate candy chocolate about a month ago Thank God nothing happened I’ve always had animals that were odd lmao. He’s potty trained BUT he’s stubborn and gets in modes where he refuses to use it outside and will literally roll his neck and talk shit just to use it in the house and look like a sad shelter dog when he’s sent to his crate smh.
The only issue I've had with my shih tzu is the BITING! I have no idea how to break it! I've tried the distraction with a toy but maybe I didn't try hard enough with it. Help please 🙏🏻😢
Mine never bark for no reason and never chewed things just his squeek toys, he likes to pee in the house even if he has just gone outside. Pee pads help alot and he stays on them. Begs alot lol. He rarely jumps on anyone has done it maybe 2 times. He has some aggression when he is in fear or with sudden movements near his face , sorry groomers lol... 8 years and Buddy my Shih Tzu is just that!! My Buddy.
keep shoes out of reach and in closed closets or bins, Use deterrent sprays or scents on shoes, Provide sufficient chew toys and mental stimulation, Use positive reinforcement for good behavior.
Wow. My Shih Tzu is nearly perfect. He has never displayed any of those issues. His real problems are that he has been super spoiled and indulged. That is my fault. I may need some retraining. 😉
Hi are you still having this problem? Our shih tzu is nearly 3 and is like this and has been for last couple of years. He will go for most people who stroke him and even us his mum and dad unless he shows us he wants a quick pet but thats all he usually likes. We've had numerous dog trainers who never help with the problem and the vets advice was rehoming but said he probably wouldnt get rehomed and of course we dont want that. We love him and just dont understand why he doesnt like being stroked, petted, will run away when its time for his walks (he loves them when hes out!) And just seems nervous, anxious and i dont know if hes happy. He shows my husband and i affection on his own terms but still doesn't really like a fuss and just uses us to snuggle into. It makes me sad as i dont know where to go from here 😢
Mine is a rescue from a puppy mill. Lived her entire life in a cage so believe me she has challenges. I accept her for who she is, not for who I want her to be. She is so fearful that she doesn' t even know how to accept love yet, being picked up, cuddling, etc. I'm committed to her no matter what though and know things will improve if I stay consistent so she feels secure. Don't give up, just keep being consistent with routines, structure and provide positive reinforcement. I had dreams of having a little dog I could cuddle and hold but that's not who she is yet and maybe not ever. Mine was nervous, anxious, stressed when I get her. She is now coming out of her shell after 4 months because she feels safer, more secure. I go at her pace and it has helped a lot. Every day she gets better so I have hope. If it never happens, I'm okay with that too because I love her. She's counting on me not to give up on her. @@jadegolding7590
My female Shihtzu is 4 years old and she barks at everything she hears and everyone she sees including other dogs She’s getting better with the not barking at every little noise I be had her over a year now from a friend that could not care for her because of her illness. but Muffy aggressive when she plays biting pretty hard she barks at me to play with her if not she becomes very spiteful
Mine is adorable but pees in the house even right next to pad!?! Very frustrating. He also growls at me if I try to talk or play with him when he is plopped on dad lol ? Can't figure out why??
we acquired a shih Tzu in May, almost a rescue dog situation. Molly is very cute and loves people. But we have never owned this breed. we have a Chihuahua he is 14, and we have had dachshunds, goldens, and other larger dogs. not used to such anxiety!!! she was just over 1 when we got her. she loves men, and loves my husband. we cannot get her to stop jumping on us constant when coming in door, she was supposed to be potty trained but uses mats sometimes will not go outside even when we put them out. Chip the Chihuahua, will go to door but he is senile and just sometimes drops as he walks this is a deterent to training. Here is my big concern. My daughter just had a baby. Molly has crowded and tried to get close to our new baby Violet. my daughter has a pit, so she has tried to just introduce her to violet. but Molly's demeanor is not just crowding, in anxious, but she is almost wanting to hurt her. I have not come up on this. we are attached to Molly for our short time here. But i am about to become Violet's full time care. We are 67 year old's and we are already trying to afford to get her into training. but i am quite concerned about how to do all of this. can this be trained out of her? Thanks for answering
I understand your concern. It sounds like Molly, your Shih Tzu, is still adjusting to her new home, which is common for rescue dogs. Her behaviors, like jumping and potty issues, can be improved with consistent training and patience. Regarding her behavior around your new grandchild, Violet, it's important to supervise their interactions closely. Professional training can help Molly learn to behave safely around the baby. Balancing her training and caring for Violet might be challenging, but with some professional guidance and patience, you can work towards creating a safe and harmonious environment for everyone.
I also have a Shihtzu, trust me I fixed all the problems with one solution, A Slap. Love your pet unconditionally. Let your pet know When will you get angry, They will adjust their behaviour for you and others accordingly...this method sounds a little awkward but it works For me😊
But sadly after 4yrs of mistreatment it ain't easy to retrain so I didn't I there is a very sad life story my Miss Bella lived before I saved her from a bullet she looked like I'm not sure when I first got her but after 4 baths and lots and lots of mud she was an apricot and white can't say the same for everything in the bathroom including door mirror window handbasin and that mud pit which was my bathtub even the ceiling didn't get left out but after all of that she knew she was home and not in a run with a hunting dog that they shot in front of her inside the Run and she was next she killed a chook for f/sake and she was put down on 23 March 2023 at the vet Cancer kills every thing
These stuff that she is talking about is every dog’s behavior so if your watching this video and you have a different dog this will happen also so I don’t get why she made this video saying only shih tzu like does your dog bite you? Does your dog number one in the house?
Mine growls at me and has bit me! He's a rescue and has been abused. I've had him two years don't trust him. Don't know what to do!😢😢 I would never hit him.
Firstly, thank you for adopting and you are an AMAZING HUMAN for being so patience and not giving up on your dog. It would be great if you could consult a professional dog trainer to help you train him.
This advice is ridiculous! If you want your dog to stop barking simply say "Thank you: good dog" Believe it or not it is doing its God given job of being a guard dog! I have 2 of these beautiful dogs, they are not hard to house train, you just need to get up and taken them out when you pee! Also you can crate train your dog. These dogs may be small but they are very smart, understanding your emotions and have a desire to to please and comfort you. All dogs like a routine, so make obe and stick to it.
Ours is 16, stubborn, yes, but not an aggressive bone in his body,he's always been a love bug. Best dog Ive ever had.

Are there any health issues associated with shih Tzu?
We miss you Annie. I have a female tzu myself, three years old and I’ve had her since six weeks. Love this damn dog and hope she lives to be 18 too. My best friend.
I had a shihtzu for 17 yrs. She was the love of my life. Died a couple weeks ago. She was stubborn but loveable.
😥
Sorry for your loss.

We have 2 , I don't want the day to come. God bless.

Mine passed in July this year and it’s been devastating. I’m so sorry for your loss.
The world needs more people like you ❤️
thank you so much for the love ♥️♥️♥️, God bless you🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
How is he doing now? Has he mellowed out at all?
Hi I lost 2 dogs this month
. And with out wiggles I dont think I could have gotten through the grief
Please dOnt think about getting rid of your shizue love will win him over..
GODS BLESSINGS.
I have had three Shih Tzus and each one had it's own personality. All three were easily potty trained and did not have a barking issue unless they need water or used a pee pee pad and wanted it changed. Shih Tzus are the best.
How did you train shihtzu, please tell
❤❤❤❤ I don’t know how to make my Shih Tzu stop barking at people - Do any tips besides the can with coins - it didn't work with my dog :/
@@debraeverhart6976 thank you! I will check online, great idea!
My dog Andi has never had any of these problems.
Well people react much the same lol
My Shih Tzu, use to pill on my socks, and shoe laces. When I was getting ready for work. She was so spoiled, and so much fun. I miss her dearly.
They don't want you to leave.
My boy is perfect, joyful, happy, fun, and loveable
Mine are perfect
Shih tzu the cutest dog in the world
Totally agree with you, i love this breed, I had a shi tzu for 15 years, the love of my life, I never had any behavior problem with him, patience and gentle care cure anything, I miss him very much
I've had mine for 9 days and he is 9 weeks old.
@@ncmaddmom Stay with it! Consistency will turn him into a wonderful dog! Shih Tzus are very loving and responsive to their owners, so be patient.
Yes.
I haven't had any problem with my shih Tzu he's 13 years old and he's just the sweetest dog I've ever had.
❤
My shih tzu Sofa Doafa is the absolute greatest joy of my life. I expected she would just love me; but she loves the whole family equally. She is a rescue and the most perfect angel who is equally playful and sweet. She has a schedule and will let us know if we are off it; silly girl. She was seriously sent from God
Boy I agree ..I lost my wonderful Billy boy and beleive God has him in a place for our lost ones.
I also beleive he sent me my new boy
Wiggles... BILLY BOY WAS SO CALM AND GOOD..
THIS LITTLE ONE we named Wiggles is of complete opicite from Billy boy..
Wiggles is so sweet so cute ..but he has so much inergy..
He's doing well on potty training.
Still goes occasionally pn nnoo, bites
Learned how to bark...
It will be awhile before he can sleep with me....
He has a play pen in the family room and bedroom
To sleep in or when I have to be gone ..
He is so darn cute ..I live him with all my heart....
He's my boy 😅
Another common problem is separation anxiety. If you left them alone for more than 3-4 hours, they might become quite destructive.

I have a Boston trier mix and very seldom barks unless needs to. Very smart 👌.
We have one too, the barking comes from the Maltese.
Shih Tzu are the best and cutest dog in the world. I ❤them.
Great information 💙🐶 2:36
Thanks for watching!
My shitzu is PERFECT!!! Wouldn’t change a thing!!!!!
Mine doesn’t bark unless excited to see me only lol 😂after a long day of work I love it ! Let’s talk about potty training !
Mine only learned to bark following my yapping Yorkie . But he’s not as loud
For how much time can we keep them home alone?
Thanks for the post my family doesn't have any behavior problems with our babies. They're part of the family and they tap on our thighs whenever they need to go out to do their business. I have seven babies back home 2 cute and adorable peek a poms, 2 adorable shih tzu, Dobermann, German shepherd and rottweiler. I love them all deeper than my life medical student Malaysia. God bless.✌🙏
My dog loves everyone and he is very obedient.
My Skippi Do is very obedient and only barks if needed. I love my little man 🐕 very much 💙❤😍💕
Thank you for posting this Vdo because this helps my shih tzu to stop chewing random things for example a old pipe on the beach with shells on it 😅
I recently adopted/ rescued a a shitzu male mix that was surrendered on his actual 2nd birthday to the Humane Society by a concerned family member that disclosed he was mistreated, neglected & abused & left tied outside during storms.
This is soooo adorable. Thank you! Love my fur baby.

No way! My girl is perfect!!!
Mine does none of these things . He was potty pad trained in a week . He was 8 weeks old then . He is the sweetest little boy. 💙🐾

I could never ignore my bubby boy for 5min!! And I couldn't bring myself to ever end his fun
Yeaah, me neither ❤️
I have a shih tzu, when she was younger she rarely barked but she started barking excessively recently, she became very reactive, idk the reason there's no changes in our home to cause her stress or anything. The vet told us she's healthy.
Thank you because the myth that dogs don’t do that without something happening is dangerous!
Omg my shihtzu puppy has all these traits. This was so helpful. I have a 12 year old shihtzu too but it wasn't this difficult . Thank you so much
Cute dogs
I appreciate your videos and gorgeous Bella. We have a Shorkie (Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix) and his behavior shows a lot of Shih Tzu-dominant attributes. He has an 8 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund sister. Our biggest problem he can be vicious when we try to groom him. I'm working on it but probably need a pros help! Great channel.
Thank you so much ❤
I had a shihtzu that was a rescue from a person who was moving and couldn’t take him….…we got him when he was only 1 year old…he became my best friend..I had none of these issues with him…my lap was never empty.
My shih tzu is 5yrs she is very possessive of me and tries to attack anyone who gets next me especially my husband. It has been a big problem.
Never use noise as a part of training.
If you use noise as a training distraction, the dog will develop a fear of noise.
my shih tzus were never barkers or show aggression , the only time they barked was when someone came to the door and they would bark for a few mins longer then quit.
Thank you for sharing tips on how to solve behavioral problem on our shih tsu💕

Mine didn't! He never barked, tried to talk though,,hee was extremely well behavedd,NEVER NIPPED OR BIT,EVER.
Yep, 5 years, mine has never made a sound other than a whine for food/wanting to play with people
Lucky you 😅 Mine does all of the above

@@marclayton3537 I definitely can relate to you so much! 🙂 My dog is a rescue as well Like buddy 🐾 Give buddy some scratches for me. Blessings from Pennsylvania. 🤗
Shih Tzu's are the best they don't have bad traits owners do.
That's amazing
Our 4 month pup does the chair jump/stares at us and does a low pitch growl when we eat. Need to try your tips. Thanks.
They can be stubborn lol☺️
Cute po nng aso mo maam
Mine react on walks only to certain dogs…. Weird. No potty issues, little barking. Quiet begging so we ignore- most of the time.
If these aren’t the traits of my Bella!
My shih tzu knows better than all that mess. She is practically human 😂
What food should we give shih zu dog ?
The only issue I've had with my shih tzu is the BITING! I have no idea how to break it! I've tried the distraction with a toy but maybe I didn't try hard enough with it. Help please 🙏🏻😢
Video on How to stop puppy biting coming soon.
My Buddy.
What to do against stealing shoes?
keep shoes out of reach and in closed closets or bins, Use deterrent sprays or scents on shoes, Provide sufficient chew toys and mental stimulation, Use positive reinforcement for good behavior.
I taught my 16 weeks old furbaby to sit. Also, to pee and poop on his potty tray. So even though he's around the house he knows where to pee and poop.
can i train my odg at age 8 ???
Wow. My Shih Tzu is nearly perfect. He has never displayed any of those issues. His real problems are that he has been super spoiled and indulged. That is my fault. I may need some retraining. 😉
My pet get aggressive while petting her or showing her love every time she get aggressive so much and never stops barking and start attacking
@@jadegolding7590

we acquired a shih Tzu in May, almost a rescue dog situation.
Adorable dog.. for me it's not pet but child 😔
mine barks at everyone who's near our house but when he's outside, he's a baby
Mine one always barks whenever we play with him. Pointing him with his toys, he becomes aggressive and barks loudly.
Hlo guys ..I am a shitzu puppy ..❤❤❤❤❤
If u listen to this video be ready to be treatless treats for everything u going to turn ur little shih tzu into a small house
Bitte gibt es kleine Deutsche Beitraege ueber shihtzu???
Another problems they have is always want your attention or they will get jealous and they have bad allergies too.
Yeah, they are very attention seekers.
Mine had none of this behavior. Mine is just a picky eater and that’s my only complaint
@ShihTzuCareChannel Thank you, he's 7 years now and don't know he's re-trainable. So far he does as he pleases! 😅😅😅
I feel like the loud coin shaking would give me anxiety
This advice is ridiculous! If you want your dog to stop barking simply say "Thank you: good dog" Believe it or not it is doing its God given job of being a guard dog! I have 2 of these beautiful dogs, they are not hard to house train, you just need to get up and taken them out when you pee! Also you can crate train your dog. These dogs may be small but they are very smart, understanding your emotions and have a desire to to please and comfort you. All dogs like a routine, so make obe and stick to it.
Can i leave him for 3-5 hoyrs 😢 cause i have to go to the school
I won't suggest that
