Patterns can be a scary thing to try. In this video I talk about easy ways of starting to experiment with patterns and how to pattern mix if you want to take another step further.

i also noticed when you do wild colour print combinations the CUT of the clothings become more simple. A refined cut piece of clothing or outfit with a lot af sewn embellishments works better in rather plain colours, in order the attention goes more to the cut then to the print

i also like to look to historic fashion, they combine colours in a most masterly way....i feel that today the art of colour combining is not quite at a level like a hundred years or so before.....when fabric gets (a lot) cheaper/ mass produced , the need and knowledge how to combine fabrics becomes smaller i think
Yes back in the day it was expensive to make a mistake when combining colors now with every shade being available at our finger tips there is much more experimentation that not always work.
I am a professional stylist with a background in clothing, tailoring, and design. I have designed clothing. Where I work, I make many outfits for display. Mixing patterns should be interesting to the eye, not make the eye uncomfortable. The contrast pattern should be no more than 30-40% of the garment. In matching there needs to be some unity with variety. The backgrounds need to be the same or close. There should be a "flow". I dress ladies from many areas. Many of the examples you showed were difficult for the normal eye to look at. You are always enjoyable to watch. The jacket you had on was beautiful. I look forward to your next segment.

My Friday outfit was checkered print brown color jacket and pants with oversized sunglasses blue lens with blue all stars converse. There was also a bit of blue in the pants and jacket :) Back to the year 1976 Rocky one haha
