Fiat coupes are just so underrated man - I got a 20vt the best thing ive ever brought. The sound is just beastly. Hasn't touched the road in 5 years other than when i tried to MOT it. But in the middle of my first restoration onit. Great review!
I wish i never sold it... I've had tons of fun with my 16vt, tuned it with a t4 upgrade turbocharger, bigger intercooler, injectors, fuelpump and a Apexi standalone ecu,and of course a 500nm capable clutch ... When i bought the car it had a freshly rebuild bottom end with upgraded pistons. back in the day to get over 300 whp meant turbolag till about 3250rpm.. but once you hit 1.4bar of boost you really went forwards fast :) Wrx , 911, and even a Ferrari 355 had no chance keeping up :D.. Seeing this video made me remember how special of a car it always was.. Thinking of buying one again that's for sure..
I own four Fiat Coupes here in Sweden. One 20V, one 20VT and two 16VT(one of them is a non runner at the moment). All of them are great in their own way. The 20V is a perfect daily, 16VT just feels raw when the turbo hits and the 20VT is like the refined big brother. Happy to see them getting some spotlight!
Congrats on the collection of coupes! Great to hear your thoughts on the differences. Thanks for watching. Would very much appreciate it if you would be so kind as to subscribe! Cheers!
I love the fiat coupe. Full of character. I currently have a 20v non turbo. It's definitely finitely worth owning one. Yes they can faults be regularly servicing and maintenance will keep them going.
Great review and video for a charismatic and amazing Car!!! A great way of telling its history and approaching its amazing design and feel!!! Congratulations Tim!!!
Seasons great from Western Australia. Always been a fan of these. Tough car to find here but possible. Always been a fan of Fiat, had several from 1967 124 sedan, my first car to several 124 sports including a FBO 124 sports , headers, Ansa exhaust system, twin 2 barrel 45 mm Side mounted Delorto carburettors , lumpy race cams, fully ported and polished head , blueprinted engine. Those were the days.
Cheers and thanks so much for your comment! Carbs and cams make the kind of music that is all too rare these days. Those WERE the days. Thanks for watching. Subscribe if you would be so kind.
I’ve a few of these and they’re both 20vt’s that I’ve found better than my old 16vt turbo….wonderful design, same production line as the Ferrari 355! ❤. Great vid.
It’s a gorgeous car, Enjoy a Cult status in Europe. I was the first (3 years ago ) to import an entirely restored 1996 Pininfarina Coupe, 2L, 16v, Turbo plus, in original Rosso Corsa ( Speed Red ) with Limited edition body kit. It steal the show at every car meet I go. In Las Vegas, NV
Chris Bangle worked in Fiat then.. Pinninfarina did design, but in Fiat declined their work, and embraced their home design from Fiat centro stile, signed by Chris.. But they kept interior design from Pinninfarina.. Rest is history!
Cool video. I remember when I was a teenager growing up in the UK, these were well regarded, especially considering Fiat had a reputation for being unreliable. My friend's mum had one and she wasn't afraid to rag it either 😂
Thanks for watching! One thing I didn’t mention was that the car didn’t feel fragile. In the US we didn’t get any Alfa’s or Fiats in this era and it was thought that all the cars were crap so we weren’t missing anything. I read mostly UK publications (Car / performance Car/ Evo / Audi Driver / Max Power (hilariously) and it seemed like these actually had a pretty good measure of reliability. Your friends’ mum sounds ace! Cheers and Happy New Year!!
Enjoyed very much this video! Congrats to the choice of the car.. They are very nice, and I also say.. Future classic.. I have one 4cyl too.. Same engine but without turbo😥 Still.. It goes very good

Yes! Excellent comparison. Those are starting to proliferate our US car scene and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Had a great one in Gran Turismo 2 😀. Cheers and thanks for watching !
@@TimsEnthusiastGarage I like this Fiat for the same reasons as loving the Subaru SVX. Italian design style is inimitable. It speaks to you. Cars that are rare feel special. When you combine Pininfarina with anything, you should drive it, at least for a while.
Nice Fiat. Here in Europe it's more common to see one, but not in a good shape. You should also try a sister car to this, an Alfa Romeo GTV ('94-'04), with 3.0 Busso v6. Honestly, that's a baby Ferrari. Had one for a month from my family member, painted in Rosso Proteo metallic. Nothing come close to make you feel special on the road. The one and only major issue with GTV is their previous owner. It's a true pain to find GTV in a mint condition, or a very good shape. People do not take care of these cars and it shows.
Thanks so much for watching my video! I love your comment “the one and only major issue with GTV is their previous owner” 🤣🤣🤣 so true, so true. Many cars this age that is the biggest issue. I look forward to spending some time in an Alfa GTV v6 in the very near future. I will let you know what I think! Cheers!
Tomato tomAto. Ever since that Herbie movie where Herbie falls in love with that “lovely little lancha” I have been committed to the more US friendly pronunciation. I have owned dozens, Beta, Thema, Delta, Fulvia. Still going with Lancia and give grace to either pronunciation just as I do with those who say Porsch instead of Porsche. Cheers and thanks for watching!
I’m from California and remember seeing this car when I went to Greece in 2005 and say, “What is this?!!” I love this car!
It’s super unique! Like nothing else
This car is so rare even in Europe. One of the greatest cars Fiat ever made
Thanks for watching ! Yes a sincere rarity.
Lampredi engine in the 16 v turbo is wonderful. Also same engine as the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale
I mention this a couple of times in the video. Great engine!

Thanks for the video. Not crazy about the fish eye lens used to shoot.
It’s not a fish eye but rather a wide angle lens. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching !! Cheers !
I just bought this car ... it's third sale on BaT, and I'm GREATLY looking forward to Spring in New England ❗
I watched the auction. It sold way too cheap the first time but it was one of the first ever sold in the states. Congrats on your recent acquisition
Pretty sure it was a smokin' deal this time too...could not resist!
Hi, the car was designed in house by Fiat and the interior was designed by Pininfarina.
Not according to Chris 😉

Pininfarina didn't make the exterior design but just the interior.
While Chris Bangle’s design was chosen it was is in consult with PF who would go on to build the cars.
