For those who don't know, today's stream was one of the most scuffed in terms of exploring the world.
Not only did Phil find a possible route to an ancient city (shown in this video), he found a floating island with a ruined Nether portal, a naturally generated pink sheep which he called PIG 2.0, a cluster of villages squished together (this includes a few abandoned villages), and a few goat horns.
Yeah Phil's world is nuts
I am unsure of why this possible ancient city is a big deal, but out of all of the options mentioned above this sculk encounter seems like the least clippable.
@@SakhotGamer I think it’s just the fact that it’s taken so long for Phil to find one. As he said in the video, he already plans to just bomb a hole from the surface down to the city so if he needs to quickly escape, he can fly right out. I’m sure Phil will be fine when exploring one, and arguably it’s still less dangerous than some of the other stuff he’s done over the years, but him finding a potential city after all these months is a neat thing.
Wait is this in his hardcore world, I haven't been in his stream in a while I know it is still s4 tho

@@SakhotGamer I think its because phil has explored a big chunk of the world outside of 1.19 so a lot of the chunks arent new and cant spawn skulk or anything from 1.19
I fell asleep early in the stream, woke up sometime around midnight, saw him brewing a potion and thought 'well that doesn't look too important' and went back to sleep.
Now I regret missing this moment, i was so excited for him to find his first skulk

This stream was so wild that everytime phil gets surprised by anything he finds i immediately would say "THAT'S A MOMENT"
Whenever I look for cities, I bring shucker boxes full of wool and night vision potions, makes traversing the deep dark easy.
Wool is just what you need for the deep dark.
i just use fullbright instead of night vision

@@Satyr_13 i just use a mod called boosted brightness which lets u change ur brightness levels from 0-100 to 0-1200 and 1200=fullbright
every time i go into or ever near a deep dark biome, I nearly have multiple heart attacks
The deep dark is actually pretty safe, you just need to be careful
Everything in Minecraft Hardcore is safe if you're careful

@@stary_kartofel2137 Exactly idk why phill is freaking out. Just come back with wool and don't make noise and ur fine. Also having an elytra is helpful if you do spawn the warden because you can just fly away quickly.
@@cowilo_ ehh, i’ve heard too many stories of people trying to fly out of an ancient city and smacking right into a wall and dying, which is very likely when it’s a pretty cramped space still. and also nerves trying not to die to the warden, it’s just not a great idea. Phil really doesn’t want to take any chances regardless of how safe it could be with precautions, and i respect that considering how long this hardcore world has lasted for. he’s doing what he can to protect himself from danger!

Like, industrial quantities of wool.
Bridging with wool, surrounding chests with wool, surrounding shriekers with wool.

The meta is build warden switch, disable wardens from spawning, fly through Ancient Citys without problems

Phil you can totally survive this place, and if you want to fight a warden then use turtle master pots. Running away from them is easy too just use a pearl and they won't catch up.
Ancient city's are actually really easy to loot. I managed to loot one completely with my phone, no wool and on bedrock edition (mobs can spawn in ancient city's on bedrock edition). The reality is, no matter what happens in an ancient city, Phil will survive. He has 11 god apples, great armor and he knows how to play the game.

idk how similar this is for java but honestly the warden is nothing to be scared of, in bedrock it's kinda a joke. the second you summon one just run away and don't stop while it's spawning and eventually you will be out of it's range, the thing will only kill you if you stick around and watch it for whatever reason

I am confused on why he is so freaked out. I just recently started a hardcore world of my own and my world has been pretty nuts with the amount of cool world generation I have been finding as well. I spawned in a mountain biome and have already found 4 ancient cities under where I spawned all less than 1000 blocks away from each other. I have even raided one already in just iron armor. I made a sheep farm and just gathered tons of wool so I don't set off streakers. Looted it and made it out alive. I even spawned the warden and got away. At one point he was like 3 blocks away from me and I was shitting myself lmao. That's pretty much where I am in the world and I have yet to get full diamond tools or armor.
That's one thing I don't think a lot of people understand about ancient cities. You can go into without armor and you will be fine. You just need a ton of wool so you don't make and noise and spawn a warden. Also make sure you have toggle crouch on so you don't have to hold down your crouch button. Raiding ancient cities is really quite easy with enough wool and patience.

You can always expect chat to desperately want a streamer to disregard all precautions. All they want is an easy laugh.
Never give it to them. I root for the streamer, not against them.

I started a Hc world but I had to be set back to 1.14... I just killed the dragon and lost a raid*I didn't die, the villagers did* do u have any advise...
I know you were looking for advice from Phil, but here's my tips;
Fortify. The. Village. There need to be villagers in inaccessible to pillagers in order to win. Illagers can walk through wooden doors, so you need to have more than that between your raiders and any villagers you want to survive. Mobs refuse to walk on carpet floating on string, or jump over fences/walls with carpet on top. (Spiders are sometimes an exception I think.) But you can. Use this.
Manipulate the spawn. Illagers in a raid never spawn under anything, so they won't spawn in a house. They spawn only on solid, opaque blocks, so glass and slabs are your friends if you want to have the illagers forced to match through your front gate.
Bring ranged weapons, and lots of ammo. Ravagers and witches are a pain otherwise. I prefer crossbows and fireworks, but do what works for you.
Now you know what you need to. Go forth and deliver your people, friend. ⚔️👑⚔️
Oops. P.S. When fighting Ravagers, well placed water is your best friend. Just don't wash away your carpets.

I was behind (catching your initial wave of success a week or two after it happened) that I always just stuck to the youtube videos to understand what was going on (I don't have time to sit in 6h+ streams). IT'S BEEN YEARS NOW. If you could edit/get an editor back then, why not do it now to have years of back logged content for your youtube channel? I think I remember you saying that you were a streamer first and youtuber second but like, you're rich af now, just pay someone to edit it all for you 😂😂
