Normally Brad is putting his energy into the video and people are trying to match or they are just there. This time he is there witnessing another person's passion, as well as the persons around him. I think it is fantastic that the editing took a step back to really tell the story of these people, show what they believe, and how (generationally) committed they are to creating something great and meaningful with sustainable practices.
The channel is new! Its actually doing insanely well for how fresh it is. It takes most people many years to get to the point this channel is at right now. Give it a few years and it will 4x the current size easily. Especially if the videos are this kind of quality.
I’ve given thought to why Brad isn’t bigger and I think his goofy guy thing holds him back from being the next Bourdain because people don’t respect him they just like him
I teach aquaponics and sustainable farming. I tell all my students, ALL OF THEM, that the closer we get to natural processes, the better. I always talk to them about silvopasture and successional agroforestry, as my old coworker ( solar punk farmer ) talked to me about it. It's ***SO GOOD*** to see these methods coming to the forefront of media by way of Brad and others. If we moved in this direction on a larger scale, things like floods and droughts would be less intense, and possibly a thing of the past, even in the face of intensifying climatic action. Really happy for this episode. I was talking to my wife about a bunch of the concepts covered before they happened on screen, and when Gustavo mentioned them in the exact same way, I was like "!!!!!!!!" Love this. Love it love it love it.
Easily my favorite episode yet, masterful intro and great balance of pacing, education, humor, and just getting to know this awesome guy. Great job, hope this blows up and unlocks even more awesome opportunities.
I’m blown away by the level of production Brad’s been bringing with this channel and this especially was an amazing watch. Keep killing it Brad I don’t understand how they haven’t gotten you for a series on Netflix.
Brad, you really are a Locales Legendario!!! I was fortunate enough to go to Nicaragua to buy and taste coffees for work as a roaster in 2016! Covid kind of removed me from the coffee world as far as work goes, but watching this brought back so many wonderful memories of small, successful fincas! You have really done an excellent job showing everyone what goes into growing and processing the bean!!! Gus will be your amigo for life I guarantee you that!!! Thank you for all you do Brad!! And I hope to try some of Gus’ coffee someday!
As a fellow Mexican-American ,nothing brings me more joy, happiness and pride than mi campesinos and roots being shown in such a beautiful light. This is just a reminder of all the beautiful Mexico is besides all the beaches and resorts.
Welp, I didn’t expect to be bawling my eyes out at the end of a Brad Leone video but here we are. I love everything about this. Keep up the good work Brad and friends. Thank you for this. ❤
Brad, you've really hit your stride with this series and this style of storytelling. As much as I love the goofball kitchen antics of It's Alive and Makin' It, it's amazing to watch you dive deeper into more substantial stories like this. Great work to you and your team! Keep these stories comin'!
Thank you for showing Mexico in such a beautiful way. Mexicans are artisans and deserve to have their crafts to shown off. & also hilarious! This episode was so special to me, thank you Brad 🙏🏽
This film was so captivating. I also felt emotional watching. Gustavo is such a wonderful person, it was an honor to listen to him. Like the other comments say, this was so educational.
What a wonderful story of passion, dedication and thanks to his community and growers!!! And better yet a story of environmentally conscious people who care about the world, their product and the continuation of a business and the people who rely on it! Definitely a local legend!!! He should be a world wide legend!!!!
Brads has a different type of love towards anyone making a change in the world. I love how original his videos are. His creativity is totally different and I hope he keeps his originality.
@@Dovahkiin0117 this dude is the division, he went into a poor community bought a bunch of land and began exploiting it for all its worth. There are regions of mexico entirely sustained by indigenous farmers growing coffee but Brad goes to the white settlers farm. Its not a coincidence
@@ryanleninfan1337 Did you even understand why he went there? His friend, a roaster, buys from that farm so he has a contact. My god, people like you disgust me.
As someone who deeply cares about this aspect of the industry, someone who wants to get involved in the industry, and a Spanish speaker. This was a beautiful video, and I want to thank you, Gus, and everyone involved in the making of this video. Also, thank you so much for leaving his monologue at the end in Spanish and not trying to have a translator. It was beautiful to hear him talk about his passion and what it meant to him a language that he is comfortable in. I loved it. I hope to travel there someday in the not-too-distant future.
Brad (and the team behind this film). Hats off to you all. This is just amazing. Educational, emotional, funny etc. Great filmmaking and storytelling. Beautiful story. It has it all. Thank you.
When I was working in the coffee world, I learned from a Russian coffee master. He's got his own little projects of aging the coffee beans in whiskey barrels and such. Some of the best coffee you'll ever have. Man had awards for years. True passion. Good episode Brad. Brought back some good memories.
It's en-heartening to witness a sustainable business participating with the ecology and care of the planet. To be in the communion of our creative humanities! It's hard to know that there is so much destruction in our everyday benefits. Truly enlightening! Giving such a graceful gratitude to doing our best in the world, for the world. Blessings.
This was beautiful and insightful, best local legends episode. We have to do more through our seemingly small daily choices to support people like Gus who are doing things the right way
I can't drink coffee anymore, but this whole video was incredible. I wish we had more of this all over the world. You can tell this is so much more than just a job or just a life's work for everyone involved. There is pure love for the earth and what it provides and that's the most beautiful part.
Brad! I just wants to thank you for playing your part in making the world a better place. This episode was so moving, and with so many coffee lovers out there, we can all take away so much from this episode. Thank you 🤙🏼
Awesome job to all of the Brad Leone team! The local legends series is highlighting the people and companies that actually care for our world by doing what they do. Affecting more than just our environment in a positive way! Love watching, and helping to spread the word. Much love y’all.
Coffee holds a dear place in my heart and has been formative for me and my career even outside the coffee industry now. I’m really happy to see such a conscious farm being spotlighted
For the negative comments, Gustavo is Mexican, born and raised. His good humor (very Mexican) and ability to convey his passion and Philosophy is what sets him apart and which makes him a great spokesman for all the farmers like him. I was touched by what he said about his wife (he doesn't deserve her). Great Job Team Brad!
Wow is there anything not off the chart amazing about this episode? Thank you for introducing your fans to agroforestry and Gus y Denise and all their amazing staff.
ive been a huge fan of brad, loved it when i saw get started this channel and with videos like these… i wish he had millions of subscribers. this is real quality content that people need to see!
Made me tear up a bit, watching Brad watch the water flow and make the machine go. Just like a little kid watching a kite being risen by the wind. Amazing visual job guys, congratulations. Much love from Buenos Aires Argentina ❤
This was fantastic. So fascinating to see the comparison between weirdly sterile looking rows of coffee on bare earth, compared to a big beautiful rain forest and hydro powered machinery. Plus the pure passion of the people working there! Radical
WOW just WOW. Even though I myself is not a heavy coffee drinker, I can feel all the loves, all the cares from people who are involved in this whole process. Great work and inspired me a lot. Thanks Brad.
This was such a great video, thank you Brad and team for featuring these Legends! I would love to support farmers directly like this. There's a company "Sweet Maria's" that sources green coffee from small farms across the world, ethically, and they have tasting notes/profiles on every farm and batch of coffee they sell. I buy all of our green coffee from there and now we have amazing cups of coffee every day.
Brad each one of these stories of local Legends move me more than the last. beautiful people, doing their best to produce an amazing product, and more, keep their environment thriving.... can't wait for follow up. Btw you and Gus were very entertaining as always.... well done
just thank you. idon't even drink coffee, but the way all these beautiful people radiate the proudness and love for what they do ist so touching. and the love for the land is sooooo beautiful
Lovely 🥰 Im a little teary eyed right now. How can I get some of that beautiful coffee? That’s what I want to know. When I lived in Hawaii, I could buy directly from the grower.
Wow what a inspiring man , integrity in all angles of working with nature not against it - acknowledging all the people that are part of it and been part of it - and being mindful of health of the people he will be selling his coffie too! . Absolutely beautiful property . This was so Inspireing -when it feels like the world is just so fixated on making the dollars at all cost it seems so hard to not get pulled in to the system -this is not the easy way but hes done it and had success, so cool i very much relate to his way of thinking 😊.
Thank you for Local Legends! This is an amazing episode-it does my heart good to know there are people like this in the world. I'll be looking for their coffee!!
this is something that mainstream media / TV can't even get close to in terms of quality and authenticity.
The world needs more of this. Genuine, caring people. Keep it up Brad
Damn. This shit made me emotional lol. I only wish I could find something I love as much as this dude loves growing coffee beans. What a gift.
