try doing spear of the church with low poise/poisebreak, it’s infinitely harder than doing gael with any kind of handicap, I’ve done the SL1 run, spears of the church is easily one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in one of these games, at least Midir and Gael are 100% guarenteed do-able if you put in the time and effort because of their patterns.
it’s literally impossible to try and deal with both of them at the same time (well, it might be if they didn’t use their goddamn throwing daggers ((which have resulted in more of my deaths than midir and gael combined)) and just stuck to melee so you can sort of lead them around to where you want). it’s basically like trying to take on 2 level 100 players who heal, use daggers and can kill you in one hit and also cannot stagger.

*THOSE DODGES* This guy makes it look easy, and this Gael as quite more harder moves than Artorias. Well in my defence it was my first Soul's Game i didnt know what i was doing. xD *STILL THIS GUY MAKES THIS SHIT LOOK EASY AS FUCK* *GJ MAN*
Just because people are confused with this "Artorias was left handed" stuff. It's based on literally no evidence. All we know is that his left arm was broken, and that he used to wield a greatshield. What do you think is more likely: that he somehow broke his sword arm swinging his sword, or that he broke his shield arm blocking an attack and then left the shield behind to protect Sif, since he couldn't use the arm anyway? The idea that Artorias is left handed sprung from fan confusion as to whom the box art of Dark Souls shows. The original box art shows a left handed character who is not Artorias; the armour is not at all similar, the sword and shield are both different. The prepare to die box art shows Artorias in his consumed state, holding his sword in his right hand. People thought that the first box art was Artorias because of this mix up and hence decided that Artorias was originally left handed. This fan theory became so popular that Dark Souls 2 decided to hint at it by making the Majestic Greatsword have a special moveset when held in the left hand. This was of course bull because it was not hinted at anywhere in the original, plus Miyazaki wasn't closely involved with Dark souls 2's development. This is basically the equivalent of Dark Souls 2 saying that Solaire is Gwyn's firstborn, a popular fan theory of the time that with Dark Souls 3 we now know is untrue. In fact, Artorias' sword in Dark Souls 3 can only be effectively used in the right hand, and its description makes no reference, almost as though it's specifically dis-confirming this idea. Furthermore, Artorias himself is primarily a reference to Guts from Berserk, as is apparent by the similar poses, abyss induced fury, broken left arm, almost move for move attacks, association with a wolf, and use of a greatsword. Guts lost the lower half of his left arm, but even before that he was right handed, so it only makes sense that Artorias, the character based on Guts, was also right handed. Sorry to make a rant of it, but the integrity of the lore of Dark Souls is important, which means you can't just make things up because they sound cool.
Salty that a baseless theory has become so popular? Yes, very. So much so that I have this response pre-typed out so I can just copy and paste it whenever someone mentions it.

I like the fact that he uses the weapon only one-handed, just like Artorias
honestly would've preferred when he started using two handed when gael second phase had him go two handed, kinda reminiscent of ludwig.
This is lore wise, artorias left hand broke when facing manus :v
@popocot popocot he used to, when he fought manus his arm got broken, so he just left it and continued with his sword
It's also slightly faster one handed (just a slight bit)
But he doesn't use it in his left arm like Artorias do(well before his left broken)
