Dr. Gressel is by far the best military analyst I have ever heard, he's a cut above some of my other favourites like Torsten Heinrich who runs an excellent UA-cam channel Military & History, but Gustav is the Uber man for war insights & I like how he isn't afraid to use "colourful" language to call out things as they need to be when necessary. Great interview Sergej! All your shows are good but the ones with Gustav I look forward to the most.👍
Gressel is excellent, because he never minces words. It is most unfortunate that Western failure to produce and deliver, and Ukraine failing to having mobilised in time, will lead towards the Minsk III that Biden, Scholz, Macron and Sunak still clandestinely desire.
How can I contact Gustav? Does he have an email so someone can reach him? I really wish that Jake Sullivan and the American team would pay attention to Gustav and implement his thinking when it comes to fighting this war in Ukraine.
The real game changer is USA strategic clarity. In the bill it states that DoD (bridge between civilian and military authorities) has to submit a warplan. They go before Congress in June. This means that to some extent DoD and by extension the Pentagon (USA has five militaries that meet up with intel agencies) are somewhat responsible for the outcome of the war. Whereas Congress, the Senate and the President have power over the dollar amount, the DoD and Pentagon decide the prices on the equipment with little interference. Since they are apparently responsible for the war at least to Congress, I'm hoping that the prices on the equipment and ammo will go down so a dollar goes further. You may ask how do they determine how much a mil aid package is worth? It is actually quite random and certainly isn't based on cost of acquisition plus maintenance. On one occasion they gave Poland jets for a dollar a piece. Prices won't be that favourable but it does demonstrate the power of the Pentagon over prices on already purchased equipment. We examined a package once "valued" at 300 million. It appears that it was actually worth at most one third of this at best. If this changes then this is the game changer far more than F16s. And yes, this is why DoD uses the term valued at as opposed to cost.

There are two solutions to russian electronic warfare. The first is a wired drone, perhaps a balloon that performs defensive actions. China uses balloons for surveillance and eavesdropping. Jammer/hacker balloons are surprisingly affordable and feasible. The second and more likely is AI drones as they do not require a signal and thus cannot be jammed. There is a massive amount of research and development in this field. Even commercially available software such as ARDU allows for preprogrammed flight paths for virtually nothing. The difficulty lies in targeting. AeroMedLab is developing such a drone for medical purposes while DARPA is creating an armed version. It isn't clear if russia could really counter this certainly not with current methods. They don't have the tech sector to keep up. Rumour has it Ukraine might field test something along these lines. No signal. No jamming. No defense.
Retranslator-drones are the third possible solution to let FPV-drones to come through a dense EW belt, but we agree, AI drones are much more sustainable.
Russia has been currently autocratic, ethnic russian nationalistic & imperialistic for years. Same goals as other such countries whether local differences in ideology, same solutions used. I like applying the 14 criteria defined by Umberto Eco to detect a fascist society. Russia has successfully passed the procedure. Dont forget that kommunism in Russia was ideologically close to Nazism. Both some kind of twisted version of sociallism . Now I think the current Russia is a different animal where ideology is a tool for power not a goal.

Russia's glide bombs are not precision bombs. The Russians just send them into flight, in dozens (and recently in hundreds), in a hope that they will hit something. They kill indiscriminately, and are efficient because of their large numbers and huge amount of explosives.
Always great to listen to Dr. Gressel. He's a real expert on the matter, thank you Sergej for this great show.
Thank you for your kind words! We will continue doing our best :)

Oh yes, absolutely! We are SO HAPPY that Dr. Gressel is one of our Research Fellows now!
@@EuroResilience I look forward to more military nerd stuff in the future then! 😉
@@irongron As we promised: with Gustav on board, there will be much more high-class military nerd stuff!
In my opinion the best is Austrian Colonel Dr. Markus Reisner. Most precise analysis across domains. But Gressel is pretty awesome.
@@lbb101 I have seen his presentations too, definitely a high class presenter of military tactics.
Thanks for All the info provided and it was a very interesting conversation … 💙💛💙
Thank you for your kind words!
That was a wonderful interview, thank you.
Thank you 🙏 We also enjoyed it :)

We totally agree, Gustav Gressel is just wonderful.
This expert tells as it is. Very impressive and informative!
Thanks.
Great extra details, TY.
Thanks for watching!
Very nice! I just love Gressel!
We all love him! He is amazing!
Fantastic and enlightening discussion on the effectiveness of equipment on the frontlines. 🇺🇦
Thank you so much for your supportive words!

Russia always pretends what it is not. It is a mixture of superiority and inferiority complex.
There is EU applied science incubator. So far rules have been no dual use or mil tech. While others pressure for change, germans are against
