Best dust collection overview I’ve found!
Thanks for commenting.
You make great videos! I appreciate the nuanced and detailed way you explain everything as well as the overall substance 👌
I appreciate that! Truly.
Thank you for simplifying one of my biggest concerns in the shop!
Happy to help!
Thanks for the great video. One thing I never see mentioned in budget dust collection is fans. I built a cyclone system with my vac and of course have good filter. But one thing I can say for sure is, a good strong fan blowing what’s in the air away from you is probably the best filter you can buy. I work out of my garage so opening the front and back door with a big stand up fan blowing keeps my shop very clean.
Great point!
Great video. I really appreciate when the content is kept succinct. Especially when the header uses terms like basics or beginners and then directs to more detailed information.
Great video. I use the cheapest air cleaner around. I hang a standard box fan with a 20 x 20 furnace filter taped to the back of the fan. It'll clear a room in about 15 minutes. Then I either vacuum it clean or change the filter.
thank you - answered all of my questions in one simple to understand video, good job
Great to hear!
Excellent presentation .Thanks.
Excellent video. 100% on point.
Some good stuff. Thanks!
That was an amazing video brother.. I learned a bunch and coukd not be more thankful for you sharing🙌👏😀🤘✌

Thanks for the video, it is very useful!!!
Glad it was helpful!
This is the best introduction vid I’ve seen on this topic. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Sean!
This video was excellent! Well explained for rookies like myself 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Carlos!! Long time no see bro! Hope you are doing well.
@@TrainingHandsAcademy hanging in there my friend.
Great video. Well done and helped me make some decisions on what to purchase. Thank you
Glad I could help!
Great video, thanks.
You are welcome Bill! Thanks for watching!
Super video and thank you.
Welcome 😊
Great video. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Extremely helpful. I wish I had watched this video before pouring weeks into researching dust extractors. Still, you sold me on starting small, keeping it simple, and letting myself grow organically (instead of buying a huge collector for my ROS, lol). Thanks man!
You are welcome!
Awesome!
Thank you! Cheers!
I live on a farm in a very rural area. I send the discharge to a cyclone outside and the dust hits a hanging screen also outside. I clean up the sawdust pile with my Caterpillar skid steer. Easy up and done.
I'm jealous for two reasons. First, you live on a farm... and second, you have a skid steer! Can I come over and play? LOL

Thank you that health
Would you recommend a complete beginner to get a L class or M class shop vac? Btw, I've seen some people attach a cyclone dust separator to their shop vac, their reasoning is it prolongs the vac's filter usable life, what do you think about this?
I would have to say M class but it really depends on what you will be doing, or what you will be doing in the future. Yes, I do see a lot of people using those cyclone dust separators for shop vacs, but I've never tried them so I can't really give you good advice on that.
@@TrainingHandsAcademy I just want to use it for small power tools like circular saw, a plunge router and sander.
Why did you remove the dust mask video mentioned in this video?

Nice i have the JET AFS-1000 1-fase and the MILWAUKEE AS-30MAC, and it is doing a good jobb i am 45 and didn't get sik yet 😂😂😂
Also... worth pointing out HVAC (not sure why in America, people say, "H.V.A.C" rather than "H-vac") duct is designed for air flow in the opposite direction of dust collectors, blow vs suck. Granted in a different context, meme choise, but we be wood workers, not wood growers. Be sure to orient the ducts correctly.
Avv this video sucks.
It may collect dust in a corner of UA-cam for decades.
😁
Nice video 👌
LOL
I'll tell you a big secret. - all that nonsense about LVHP or LPHV or whatever is just marketing. vacs and dust extractors use exactly the same basic principle. The main difference is that you would not like to pass wood chips through the vac fan- it is speeding at a much higher frequency so it could be damaged more easily. You can connect the dust collector to VFD and make it way more efficient by running at higher speeds. And if reducing the dust collector inlet works for you - do it! There is no secret reason to keep the inlet at the same diameter. ( it is true for the line, though).
