Hi. Sorry but the Selectamatic serie came out at the end of 1965. Those were built until 1971. There were over 33K units done of that particular model in Huddersfield mills England. You're right about them : they are work horse. I own one completely restored. It's a 1967 model with the original front shovel that was coming as an option then. Besides the electric starter and the lights, everything on that tractor is mechanical. No electronics. That's why they still exist today.

Yes that David Brown still in use here. You should see the new modern tractors here crashing through the Irish byroads. Huge ! But the Brown is the best !!
996db my dad bought it in 1978 As easy on diesel as the 135 We used a Ransomes 4sod and a 10foot disc on it with breeze blocks wired on to it to send the disc down .I often spent 8hrs on it tilling when I was a young lad .I spent 5k tidying it up ,and still have it ,I don't think modern tractors will last as long as the old ones .south laois up near Errill .Have a great day bud
Good tractor pity you hadn't the 12 speed box on 3 gear levers, plus i think shes 1966 not 56,, cus she the newer white selectamatic not the red implamatic
Even after all the cockroaches have died from nuclear radiation and nothing else is left, these bloody tractors would still be operational. Such a shame the company sold to Case, as their parent company,Tenneco, basically had it's own machines and then IH, so I guess one of the marques had to go. Begs the question, why did Case buy DB, probably saw them as a competitor they just wanted to eliminate?

Might need a good sand blast and coat of paint! A wee dose of air in the tire too! Runs like a swiss watch tho' ... very impressive!
Defo purrs like a swiss watch !!

Your right on the year..... mistake made . 1966. It replaced the implamatic. Still in fairness some tractor.
Lid cavan registration plate from may 1968 to march 1969
Good info
I would agree 1956 would have been an implematic
Yes. Must look up if anyone owns one local !
That's not a 1956 tractor. More like a 1966 model.
Yes you fully correct. See previous comments . Mistake ! But regardless a foook of a great machine @!!!!
Makes sense using the wee 880 rather than a 100+ horse power driving a power washer
For sure ! Did you see this machine at work ? Great New Holland ua-cam.com/video/PgDI82TDsXc/v-deo.htmlsi=de_BtOHaWSxQbaWi
No fuel gauge no temp gauge and a six speed g box it's a basic unit
For sure. Fuel gauge in those days unheard off !!!
Cavan reg
LID 109 !!! I don't know me registrations but think might be non cavan ! ???
@@JakTalkThai ID was Cavan, I'm from Meath and I remember them well
@@JakTalkThai I have a 1969 880 and she's a great tractor
Those machines are defo work horses for sure !
This is not a ,56 model
This would be a ,66 or ,67 model
