That's the best thing about being on the Queen Mary 2. It's not a cruise ship, it's an actual ocean liner as you say, built specifically to withstand this type of weather without any issues whatsoever whilst crossing the Atlantic. I was on this crossing! I loved the weather, the high seas, the snow, all of it! I remember seeing you filming the couple in the hot tub… and I spotted myself in the Queen’s Room on Twenties Night. 😆 Too funny! Thanks for the video. It was a crossing to remember.

@@simonstones1918 They canceled the shows during rough seas, as dancers can’t dance. Dropped trays in dining room, waves against dining room windows (3rd or 4th deck), passé bouncing off corridors.
"The only way to cross"! Great to see QM2 in her true element, she's unique. Thanks for sharing this great example of a proper winter crossing! I'm glad they keep her on liner service in all seasons.
We crossed in October 2022, Southampton-New York. Very heavy seas for three days and the ship did not roll at all and pitched very little. This ship is built for heavy seas and rides through them magnificently.
Fantastic video of a journey you’ll never forget! Thanks for sharing and giving us landlubbers a flavour of what you experienced and what we’ve missed - the greatest thrill ride ever!
Great video. Sailing on the QM2 - what a joy and a privilege and such a proper way to travel! Nothing like a bit of inclement weather to make the inside feel all snug and cosy too 🙂
Yes sir,Queen Mary 2,is a true ocean liner. We sailed her back in 2004 to the Caribbean from New York City when she left from the Manhattan cruise terminal. She is a fine ship
My father was a plate boy on a North Atlantic crossing to Montreal. In about 1930. He described the crossing as one foot in the floor with the other foot on the wall and then when it rolled the other way you put the floor foot on the other wall. He was on a white star liner so consider conditions in those days. He also said to stop sea sickness just eat digestives to soak up !!!!! Tales like that give a little perspective.
Wow, thank you for sharing your dad's tales of being on the high seas crossing the north atlantic. I could never imagine sailing in those days on the ships they had back then. It must have been horrible if they ran into 3 days of storms. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Hi Kathy, You are absolutely correct about the QM2. It was a great experience for us to see her go through 3 days of storms around the clock. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
HA HA Absolute nutcase in the nicest way. Great vid. Never cruised before but going Southampton to Norway next year. Will check out your other vids. Top geezer
This weekend (jan 20) the Cunard Queen Victoria arrived in Port Canaveral Florida. Look like Carnival Corp. is moving some of its Cunard ship toward america. They also moved some of their P&O UK ship to the U.S. One of them was in Miami this weekend.
As you know we are on Queen Mary 2. Both QM2 and Queen Victoria left Southampton, London on January 11 both on World Voyages in opposite directions around the world. Love this, would love to be sailing with yourselves, you are both so friendly and look good fun to spend time with. Continue your have a fabulous cruise. 🛳️😘
Be thankful you were on a ship "built for purpose", if it was a modern tin can cruise ship, you would be hightailing away looking for calm weather. I would not sail on modern apartment block welded to a barge. I'm an ex Cunarder crew member. glad you enjoy it.

Hi Michael, That's freaking cool in regards to the names! We had the proper gear only because we are traveling the world and will be in New Zealand, Alaska & Northern Europe in the next few months. We were lucky to experience such a sight. Thank you for the comment and coming along on the journey.
RIGHT! It was freaking awesome! We are working on a second video revisiting the 8 days of potential terror crossing the Atlantic. We kind of made light of the situation but it was actually terrifying for some passengers. The seas were pretty bad. I hope you catch the new video coming soon and catch us when we do our live stream on the subject. Thank you again for your comments and watching our video.
I took this with my wife in October 10th 2008 from Southampton to NY. We had calm seas the entire way, but stock market was nothing but calm, actually it was melting down as we crossed. I remember a few people having lost their “shirt” on that passage. I would love to get back on one of the Cunard ships one day.
Wow, sounds like the seas were calm but the nerves were high!! Definitely something to remember. Went from Liverpool across the Atlantic to Montreal in 1968 on the Empress of Canada ocean liner. We were in a storm for 3 days, which was force 10-11 on the Beaufort scale. All exits to the deck were locked because it was too dangerous to go out, couldn't even walk without being thrown about. We were told that the stabilisers couldn't be used because they would have been sheared off. That was terrifying. Your experience was more of a storm in a teacup.
WOW I believe it! Thank you for sharing. It’s obvious to me if you are crossing the North Atlantic in the winter there's a good chance you are going to run into stormy weather. I can’t argue with you with the storm conditions because for some this sailing was terrifying! But, for us it was exciting and a little nerve-wracking at times! We went across on the QE 2 toNYC. We hit a violent storm halfway which destroyed a barrier at the prow ( pointy end ) and destroyed all of the glassware in the restaurant. The sea is all powerful.

Yes, dressing up in the dining room is a requirement. On gala night a suit, tie or tux with tie. On non gala nights it’s called smart attire night dress pants and button shirt. If you are eating on deck 7 where the buffet is. It has a much more laid back environment, you can get by with jeans & a t-shirt if you want on either night. It's really a beautiful ship and worth booking at least one voyage.Thank you for your comment and for coming along on our journey around the world.

My wife was on that cruise - it listed 11 meter waves but on the sea maps I was tracking her - it listed at times up to 50 foot waves I calculated - she ahs done it becasue she can’t fly a dozen times or so and it was by far the worst weather - especially she said evenings and night time - it would calm out during the day when you ventured out - the decks were more often than not closed that 3rd day - and did not start calming until past the 4th day - plates were falling off tables in the dining room - she could not sleep at night and wandered the ship mid ship on the lowest level she coudl - 34d floor I think, it was terrible for her - for most who take the cruise they seem immune to big waves - she has he’d a couple beautiful crossings that were dream like and enjoyable for her- it is a magnificent ship - but she has to travel in January and return first crossing of season to visit her Mother in off season. Thanks for posting this ! Wish you could have captured at 3rd level the highest seas which were absolutely enormous for a couple days - again listed by the boat at 11 meters about 35 feet and probably at times tipped past 50 feet - the worst she ever experienced otherwise were 35 feet one crossing - I was withe her for 25 foot sees, nothing I have ever seen before - and rarely captured on these videos - still looking for a video which actually captures such seas. For the crew they said they had seen even worse.
Thank you for your comments! Your wife knows exactly how it was. There were non-stop storms for 3 days and nights. The swells were huge, the winds were ferocious and the blizzard-like conditions were crazy. In all reality it was extremely bad weather but could have been way worse for a couple of reasons. One if the captain didn’t change course and two if we weren't on the Queen Mary 2. I believe it could have been a disaster! Just FYI we are in the process of doing a video revisiting the QM2 crossing on Jan 3, 2024 and the impact of the 72 hours of storms. I can remember around 2am I would hear random rogue waves hitting the side of the ship and rattling it to its core. Thank you for the comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Good question. We don't really remember, we are thinking yes but can say for sure. Either way we got lucky to be on such a freaking amazing sailing. Thank you for your questions, comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Hi Jay, I can see why you would say that but, it's actually pretty safe as long as you don't go too close to the edge in a huge storm.Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Well I heard on the news that a few people have wound up overboard either leaning or sitting across the top deck railings. Luckily onlookers hollered for help and they retrieved the people, but there were one or two cases where they couldn't find the other people. Maybe they were devoured by sharks.
We left Brooklyn, NY January 3 and yes! You are 100% spot on about the ocean liner. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
I went out on my balcony one night on the Queen Mary 2 in 2010 when the storm was horrendous, I was in the eye of the storm, the waves were enormous, it was so surreal, I had to use all my strength to open the balcony doors to get back inside, so never go out in the balcony folks during a storm. 😮
Thank you for your comments and sharing your experience. It will hopefully help others who are tempted to venture out on their balcony during stormy seas. Thank you for coming along on our journey around the world.
That was a really fun video - thank you! It was really interesting to see the sea’s behaviour on a transatlantic crossing and how this beautiful ocean liner manages it. You also handled a few rude comments here with good grace 😉. It’s all good fun. Happy travels, Hubbards!
Yes, Cunard had sickness bags in various public locations on the ship. Overall the ship handled the storm very well. I don't think I would want to do that crossing on a regular cruise ship. The Ocean Liner is the way to go QM2. yes, you could hear random waves mostly at night. Thank you for your questions, comments and coming along on our journey around the world. We are heading out on a four month cruise to Canada, California, Hawaii, Panama Canal, South America and our last continent Antarctica. Please like & subscribe.
These were a little like conditions on a voyage I was on in the 1970s of the Italian Line “Michelangelo” from Cannes to to New York. We re-routed a 1000 miles south to avoid a Force 10 full storm. I wish we had re-routed to Brazilian Fernando de Noronha island and just remained there!
One has to ask why do this? I went to college in Vermont and later owned homes in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Northern Illinois and northwest New Jersey. I finally escaped lousy winter weather to the Atlanta, GA metro area. WE recently took a cruise/crossing in early spring from F.t. Lauderdale, to St. Martins, Madeira and Barcelona. We spent lots of time on our balcony and out on deck. The QM 3 crossing looks underwhelming at best.
From your perspectiveI I hear you 100% and appreciate your comment. We have done multiple crossings from various ports along the east coast of the USA & the west coast of Europe and have to say the QM2 crossing in January was pretty amazing! It was a totally different experience from other crossings. An experience all by itself, something we will never forget. I’m thinking if it was any other ship it would have been hairy! But, wow!! It was freaking amazing doing a crossing in January in the roughest seas. We are releasing a sequel of this video in the next few days. I’m hoping you check it out. It has more weather information and ship stuff. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world. This week will be heading to our last continent!
Please respond! I'm writing a book about a winter cruise, and I want you to tell me everything about how cold it was, how it felt walking the snowy decks, how does it feel to be on a winter cruise? Please tell me everything.
How far into your book are you? What other ships & journeys have you researched so far? From our perspective it was freaking amazing!! However, the ship made our experience extra special because the Queen Mary 2 was designed & built for sailing north Atlantic stormy seas. The ship handled the 3 days & nights of storms like a hot knife through butter. Thank you for your comment and for coming along on our journey around the world.
@@HubbardsJourney Hey you 2! Thanks for this. I'm in the editing phase of the 1st draft. And a lot are changing. I can't believe that the editing would be this demanding, and not the 1st edition. But what did I know? Not this 😆 Anyway, yes i would like to know for your feelings. Like how did if felt walking the slippery decks? You know, little details that can give the sense of actually being there. Like how cold was the air passing through your hair? Did you feel scared or fascinated? And the food! What time did they serve? And are there fixed times, or anyone can bust in whenever they hangry? What about the boarding process? Did you feel like you couldn't wait to get on the ship? In general, just kill me with uninteresting little details you can think of like my questions. They can be extremely valuable to a noob like me. As for my book, you csn check what's what in my website tiberanic.weebly.com. No scams in there. Just a passionate writer writing a lot about his book, oh and ways to contact me! An email with your thoughts about your experience on qm2 would be invaluable. Or from here, I don't mind. Just give me uninteresting little details.
I was on this crossing and the ship performed quite well. I was also in an inside cabin and other than one night from about 2:00 am-5:00 am, I was quite comfortable and no sea sickness. It was a generally unremarkable crossing. The only frustrating part is Cunard's on-going austerity measures. This is playing itself out in food quality with the one exception being brekkie. Spa is also run down and dirty. It was a better product when it was Canyon Ranch. But the cigar lounge, Commodore Club and Chart Room remain an elegant experience.
Nothing to get too concerned about. I never missed a meal. But for about 3 hours in the early morning at the peak of the peak bad weather, I found it difficult to sleep. So I went to deck 7 and had some tea and waited it out. There were no surprises. The Captain provided good and correct info as far what was coming our way and when it would settle down. But I want to be clear: the liner ship attributes of QM2 really shined
We embarked from Brooklyn, NY on January 3, 2024. The storms were 3 straight days & nights starting January 5, 6, & 7. Thanks for watching and coming along on our journey.
Did the same crossing on this Liner back in April 2010 the time of air travel suspension due to volcanic eruption, yes we had a Port balcony (couldn't use due to weather ) suit level 12 not far from bridge what I remember was the fantastic dining and food experience YUM. 2015, we were on the Celebrity Solstice, and it didn't even come close to QM2.

I sailed on board USS Seattle AOE-3, USS Inchon LPH-12 and USS Butte AE-27 during storms at sea. We had one memorable cruise on board my ship when we encountered 30 ft to 40 ft seas. It made for short chow lines on board as most of the Marines were down with Sea Sickness.
Wow! What a story. Thank you for sharing. The QM2 handled the 3 days of storms like a hot knife through butter. We definitely had some movement on the ship but it was really nothing. Thank you for your military service!
The railings look very widely spaced. It would wager that a person, and especially a child, could easily slip, slide between them, and end up overboard.
I’m thinking you would really want to be over board to fit through. But, anything is possible. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Ahem... It's pronounced "kuunard", not "q-nard". Anyway, that's the kind of crossing I'd like to have. The ship obviously handles the swells with ease; it seems to be hardly moving off the level. Oh, and well done wearing a tuxedo on the formal evenings. I know the rules, as well as just the social expectations, onboard Cunard ships are probably the highest on any passenger line. But, still, I've seen some videos catching people in very casual attire in the lounges and dining rooms, in the evenings, on Cunard vessels. As someone who wears tuxedo on the formal nights, myself, I commend you for doing your part to keep the standards up. 👍
That's freaking awesome!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge about the Cunard ships and customs. I dressed formally for work for over 24 years and as I get older I'm not a big fan of it but, as the saying goes, when in Rome do as the Romans do. And I listen to my wife hahaha… Thanks for sharing and coming along on our journey around the world.
I crossed in December to Southampton. Was disappointed that the seas were so calm. Plan to take the westbound crossing next December. Hoping for more turbulent seas.
"I just choked on a snowfake!" 😁 Love this video guys. Hundred percent awesome that you braved the elements to show us both how bad it can get, and how AWESOME a real ocean liner deals with it.
Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world. We are currently on a cruise ship in the North Atlantic and have been faced with two days of storms. I would call the two days of rough seas little baby storms compared to what we experienced on the QM2. We are currently being thrown around and people are getting sick, there is a huge difference between a cruise ship and an ocean liner in stormy seas. The QM2 is an amazing ocean liner we can say from experience!

Rough weather in the North Atlantic in January? Who could have ever guessed it. They were not exactly running flat out either. Probably less that 20 knots. Econonmizing I guess. The old Queens could do the trip in what? 4 days I think.
The old steamers [Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth] routinely made 5 day crossings - but they also had an over 24 hour layover in port at each end of the crossing. QM2 can do a five day crossing, but the vast majority are scheduled for 7 days. This leaves a reserve of time & speed for medical evacuations or to route around inclement weather. [and more on board spending for the bottom line]
I agree they probably could make the sailing in a shorter period however, to your point they would like to gain some on board revenue. We enjoyed every minute of the sailing across! Thank you for the comments and coming along on our journey.
@@HubbardsJourneyYes, this is not the 1940's or 1950's. If you want to go fast you take an airplane. It's about the voyage itself. I would like to do it sometime.
@@HubbardsJourney Actually what I meant about economizing was going slower to save fuel. It would take huge power increase to take the speed from 19 kts to the high 20's, or 30 kts. More power more fuel consumption. I see the normal service speed of the QM2 is listed as 26 kts, with a top speed of 30 kts. Compared to the original QM's service speed of 28.5 kts and top speed of over 30 knts. But then in the case of going slower as you did, you will be burning fuel to power the hotel load(which I think would be substantial) for a couple of extra days. But I am sure they have done the math lol.
That is not a cruise ship, it is an ocean liner. There are people who would never set foot on a cruise ship if they knew the differences in construction. That ship is designed to weather exactly the sort of crossing shown as normal operation.

Fantastic video of a journey you’ll never forget! Thanks for sharing and giving us landlubbers a flavour of what you experienced and what we’ve missed - the greatest thrill ride ever!
Jay, You are the BEST! Thank you for your review, kind words and coming along on our journey around the world.
Great video. Sailing on the QM2 - what a joy and a privilege and such a proper way to travel! Nothing like a bit of inclement weather to make the inside feel all snug and cosy too 🙂
Thank you soooooo so much for the comments and coming along on our journey.
Yes sir,Queen Mary 2,is a true ocean liner. We sailed her back in 2004 to the Caribbean from New York City when she left from the Manhattan cruise terminal. She is a fine ship
Yes, absolutely! Thank you for the comments and coming along on our journey.
@hubbardsjourney as I was watching with dread I didn't see the ship swaying from side to side or up & down. Was the Queen Mary 2 THAT STABLE?
@1sburdett1 Yes, she is. They learned a lot from the experience of her namesake the Queen Mary, aka "The Rolling Mary. "
So jealous you got weather that shows what she can do! I'm on her again in the spring, and I hope we'll have at least one day of window-washers.
Hi Kathy, You are absolutely correct about the QM2. It was a great experience for us to see her go through 3 days of storms around the clock. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
Thank you for the great video. My wife and I are planning to sail on the QM 2 next year. The only ocean liner in the world.
Absolutely, 100%!

We are currently off the coast of West Africa.

Been there done that and it was fun🎉
Be thankful you were on a ship "built for purpose", if it was a modern tin can cruise ship, you would be hightailing away looking for calm weather. I would not sail on modern apartment block welded to a barge. I'm an ex Cunarder crew member. glad you enjoy it.
Anthony, Absolutely, 100% we agree! She is an amazing ship. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
They should have built a sister ship for the QM2 instead of those cruise ships known as the Queen Victory and Queen Elizabeth.
Very enjoyable. You're a fun couple.
You haven't seen us in a debate yet :) Thank you for your kind words and coming along on our journey around the world.
Samuel Cunard was from my hometown of Halifax. So all of the Queens mean a lot to us.
That's pretty AWESOME!!! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
Now, this IS exciting! None of that wimpy Carribean cruising! In the sun!
And you were dressed for it. Proper rain gear. Good on ya!
I'm Michael and my brother's wife is named Andrea. Familiar names to us!
Hi Michael, That's freaking cool in regards to the names! We had the proper gear only because we are traveling the world and will be in New Zealand, Alaska & Northern Europe in the next few months. We were lucky to experience such a sight. Thank you for the comment and coming along on the journey.

We were too. But, I'm glad they didn’t we were having a blast. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
It's a breeze for that ship good old lady 😊🚣
Absolutely correct, You are 100% spot on! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
Thanks for sharing! How fantastic was that, a major snow storm while crossing the Atlantic! LUCKY!!!
I love the North Atlantic. It was a privilege to to see such majestic power
Absolutely! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
Part of an ocean's voyage IS to experience water that isn't just a huge bathtub. Roll and pitch is part of the "experience" one needs.
We agree 100%!!! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
Remember when the liberty ships were crossing in similar weather…
I took this with my wife in October 10th 2008 from Southampton to NY. We had calm seas the entire way, but stock market was nothing but calm, actually it was melting down as we crossed. I remember a few people having lost their “shirt” on that passage. I would love to get back on one of the Cunard ships one day.
Wow, sounds like the seas were calm but the nerves were high!! Definitely something to remember. We've done the transatlantic a few times but this was the first on the Queen Mary 2 and the first where the weather was a bit rough! We will be sailing the next 4 months (on a cruise ship this time) to our last continent Antarctica. Please consider hitting the subscribe button and coming along on our journey around the world. Beautiful ship and lovely sounds of the ocean.

Being on a cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic with a snowstorm what more could you ask for❄❄❄☃️👍
1000% It was actually pretty cool. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
QM2 is NOT a "cruise ship". She is an ocean liner (look it up if you don't know the difference)
I would love that. I'm really thinking I want to cross the Atlantic in winter on the QMII!
You should absolutely do it! Remember the storms were 3 straight days and nights of gale force 11 & 10 storms considered extremely dangerous. The QM2 kinda made it look easy and the video didn't really represent what the human eye can see. We will be sailing the next 4 months to our last continent Antarctica. Hit the subscribe button and come along on our journey around the world. Thank you for sharing. We hope you do it!
You certainly had fun. That is a very stable ocean liner. Definitely not a cruise ship.
Yes we did, it was a blast! If you are doing the crossing we would highly recommend this amazing ocean liner. Thank you so much for the comments and coming along on our journey.
QM is the only liner in the world's
Did this trip back in 84.. was amazing …railings seem super low.. if I was super tall I would be terrified
WOW! Thank you for sharing your journey! We will be sailing the next 4 months to our last continent Antarctica. Please consider hitting the subscribe button and coming along on our journey around the world.
We are working on a new video revisiting the Potential of 8 Days of Terror crossing the north Atlantic. Thank you again for sharing your experience on the subject. Also thank you for coming along on our journey around the world.
@@HubbardsJourney Thank you for your response. Our journey was in mid October. Highlight of the trip was going up the St. Lawrence river in it' full Autumn glory a never to be forgotten experience.

We went across on the QE 2 toNYC. We hit a violent storm halfway which destroyed a barrier at the prow ( pointy end ) and destroyed all of the glassware in the restaurant. The sea is all powerful.
David, You are 100% spot on! Don't mess with mother nature! The sea can be very dangerous. That must have been scary at the time? Thank you for your comments and sharing your experience. Also thank you for coming along on our journey around the world.
😅I crossed Southampton to N Y on a troop carrier Train Jan. 1960. The weather was terrible
Troop ship , trains don’t cross the ocean
Do you think Edward meant Troop Carrier Training?
I crossed during a Force 10 gale. Mary had zero issues with the weather and a common cruise ship would have been sent back to port.
Absolutely, 100%! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
Great vid! I so want to do this, but one question Incan neve find an answer to: do you have to get all dressed up for dinner?
Yes, dressing up in the dining room is a requirement. On gala night a suit, tie or tux with tie. On non gala nights it’s called smart attire night dress pants and button shirt. If you are eating on deck 7 where the buffet is. It has a much more laid back environment, you can get by with jeans & a t-shirt if you want on either night. It's really a beautiful ship and worth booking at least one voyage.Thank you for your comment and for coming along on our journey around the world.
@@HubbardsJourney Thanks for your reply! I sailed on the original Queen Mary as an infant, and on the France as a child.
I think it’s time to do it at an age where I’ll remember it!
Absolutely, 100%!!!
during weather snow☃️, how many degree at sea..?
That's a great question! Trying to think back on this incredible journey I would say the temperature was in or around 28 degrees or -2.22 celsius for the rest of the world. Thank you for your question and coming along on our journey around the world.
@@HubbardsJourney so where the next destination, will you visit.?
Another Great question! Before the end of the year we will be cruising Antarctica. This will complete our goal of traveling to all 7 continents. But, before we head to Antarctica we will visit the Hawaiian Islands, Canada & Colonial America, the Panama Canal & Costa Rica, the Caribbean and parts of Brazil & Argentina. Thank you for your questions, comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
I did Southampton to NY on QM2. Took 6 days with one of the pods not working.. Loved it. Only felt her rocking slightly once at night.
Thank you for coming along on our journey and sharing your experience on the QM2.
I loved the video of the QM2 made by the Hubbard family.

Can you sail from NY to South Hampton and back round trip?
Yes, you can.Thank you for your comment and for coming along on our journey around the world.
So when, what time of year you crossing?
It was January 3 out of NY.
Did that snow storm start out during your Walk?
Good question. We don't really remember, we are thinking yes but can say for sure. Either way we got lucky to be on such a freaking amazing sailing. Thank you for your questions, comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
The deck railings should be much higher being its very easy to fall overboard. The railings should be at least several feet higher.
QM2 is low down the list of 'Man overboard' events - you can Google the details.
Which month was this? But you can see why it would be nutty to risk a crossing on a cruise ship rather than an ocean liner.
During which month did you take this cruise?
We embarked January 3. The storms started January 5.
That was a really fun video - thank you! It was really interesting to see the sea’s behaviour on a transatlantic crossing and how this beautiful ocean liner manages it. You also handled a few rude comments here with good grace 😉. It’s all good fun. Happy travels, Hubbards!
Thank you for your kind words and coming along on our journey around the world. Happy Cruising!
Was anyone sea sickness and could you feel the waves
Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Not this 😆
Anyway, yes i would like to know for your feelings.
Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
How rough we talking?
Nothing to get too concerned about. I never missed a meal. But for about 3 hours in the early morning at the peak of the peak bad weather, I found it difficult to sleep. So I went to deck 7 and had some tea and waited it out. There were no surprises. The Captain provided good and correct info as far what was coming our way and when it would settle down. But I want to be clear: the liner ship attributes of QM2 really shined
What time of year was this?
We embarked from Brooklyn, NY on January 3, 2024. The storms were 3 straight days & nights starting January 5, 6, & 7. Thanks for watching and coming along on our journey.
Off season to Europe from NY. Gutsy. There are no guarantees when one sails into that kind of weather.

I'm sorry. This was January.

Those railings are too low for me.
They are a little low hahaha... Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
The railings look very widely spaced. It would wager that a person, and especially a child, could easily slip, slide between them, and end up overboard.
I’m thinking you would really want to be over board to fit through. But, anything is possible. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
I’m thinking you would really want to be over board to fit through. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Yeah right.
Clearly you have zero experience of being onboard QM2.
How much is the price from ny to England
I'm not sure from NY to England we booked it from New York to Australia.
Cunard's website currently shows eastbound crossing fares from $799 - check with them or your travel agent for what that actually means.

@@HubbardsJourney , thanks for sharing!

This is not a cruise for first timers. I've only been on 1 cruise in my life. It was a Royal Caribbean cruise that barely moved. I was scared the whole time (fear of body of water) . Thank you for sharing this video. I can at least experience this vicariously through you (without the anxiety). I wonder if there's a less stormy season to cross the Atlantic?

Need to edit how many times you say your on the queen Mary 2. Once is enough
Greatly appreciate the feedback. You actually sound like Andrea. She's mentioned that to me quite a few times LOL. Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
Yes, they were cruising along at 19 knots. Thank you for the comments and coming along on our journey.
Absolutely, 100%! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
Freezing on a North Atlantic crossing. Just my idea of a fine vacation.
Hahahaha! It was our method of travel to get from the United States to Australia. We loved sailing across the North Atlantic this time of the year. A little hairy at times but amazing!! We enjoyed every minute of the QM2. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
I need to take this to see if their service stands up the the US Navy
You should definitely book a voyage on this Ocean Liner. Unfortunately, if I were to guess, passengers on a cruise liner get a little more service than the USA sailor. Thank you for your comments and your service. We will be sailing the next 4 months to our last continent Antarctica. Spent 44 years working as an engineer officer at sea was in conditions like that and worse on many Atlantic trips.
Thank you for your comments and sharing your experience on the subject. Also thank you for coming along on our journey around the world.
unlike cruise ships, she was built for that.
100%!! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
My family just returned from their cruise Thursday, they also had bad weather conditions 😮 1:57
It was actually pretty cool. Definitely not sunbathing or hanging by the pool weather :) Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey.
