Streets of Rage 2 is an excellent Beat-'Em-Up game with an extraordinary soundtrack composed by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima. This run is played with Max and Skate on Mania difficulty.
The author, Sonikkustar (tasvideos.org/..., has discovered some new glitches and used 2 players to improve 04:56.97 over the previous run (tasvideos.org/....

I believe devs are fan of Berserk. At 16:20 you can see Caska and Gust(Guts) and around 18:39 there is enemy called griphis aswell. Not to mention Max looks like Guts aswell

That's often a big trick in beat em ups with 2 player support, the TAS will have both player character attack and do damage as fast as possible.
I think in SoR2 it's a hit per frame.

Those genres existed well before he made the music for these games. The reason they are what they are its BECAUSE he was inspired by that style of music.

Complete and utter ripoff of Final Fight, but still so much fun to play. I got this game as part of the Sega Genesis bundle deal in 1993.
