  • The story of Joey, dubbed the "Unluckiest Bear," is a heartbreaking tale of human interference with wildlife gone awry. Joey, an albino brown bear from Canada, was mistaken for a polar bear by authorities and subjected to a series of misguided actions.
Initially found in the lush forests of Canada, Joey was transported to the North Pole under the belief that he belonged there. However, upon awakening in the freezing environment, it became evident that Joey was not adapting well. Environmentalists soon realized their error and brought Joey back to Canada.
Unfortunately, the confusion persisted, and Joey was mistakenly transported to the North Pole once again. Despite the eventual realization of the mistake, Joey endured multiple relocations back and forth between the North Pole and Canada.
In a misguided attempt to prevent further confusion, Joey's fur was dyed. However, this did not spare him from being mistaken for a polar bear again and being placed in a polar bear exhibit in a zoo. Here, Joey faced bullying and mistreatment from other polar bears due to his different appearance.
Ultimately, Joey found solace in an enclosure for brown bears, where a viral video of him waking up from hibernation was captured. His story serves as a poignant reminder of the consequences of human misunderstanding and interference with wildlife.
The repeated relocations, decision to dye his fur, and subsequent mistreatment highlight the impact of well-intentioned yet misguided human actions on innocent animals. Joey's suffering underscores the need for greater awareness and consideration when it comes to interacting with wildlife.
The question arises: Should humans interfere with wildlife? The story of Joey prompts viewers to reflect on this issue and share their opinions in the comment section.

The environmentalists need to be fined or punished for putting poor, Joey, through these unnecessary measures. They rushed their decisions without advising with experts.
Any real veterinarian should have been able to easily identify a brown bear from a polar bear! Good Lord, 3 times is beyond ridiculous.
I hope Joey is doing better and dealing with his human-caused PTSD.😢

I just commented that on another video. Grizzlies and polars look nothing alike. Their head, snout, and body shape is totally different. It's crazy that so called nature/animal expert organizations made this mistake multiple times!

Thank you! Every article you pull up about it are different versions of the same story. There are no names given, there is no date, no location names. They don't even have the name of the zoo he supposedly ends up in. There are so many flaws to this story and nothing can be verified. What conservation groups? What authorities ordered him to be taken to the North Pole? Who are the people who found him in Canada? So many different people in groups involved in this story, but no interviews? Not even a name?
I feel like there's a reason the only place you'll find this story are social media forums and sites that post about viral trends. You'd think a major story such as this would have been picked up by at least a few of the larger news networks out there with how sensational it is.

Not very good journalism at the end. How many species have humans moved to their correct habitat? You act like humans interreference is only bad, whilst there are plenty of good cases to be made too. Maybe thats just the way I percieved it tho.

Feels to me like a fake story meant to drum up anger at conservation and wildlife protection groups. To what end, I don't know. I don't understand this hatred towards groups of people working to protect and conserve wildlife. These are the folks trying to fix what we as humans have caused. We've gone past the point of "let it be, don't interfere". We're the problem, so only we can be the solution.
