We adopted a four year old dog, which was a rescue almost 9 years ago we call him Rocky. He lived on the streets and Philadelphia. He looks so much like this young dog that you are handling. He has been a real blessing to us as we are in our senior years And he is too going on 14, he has been a delight for us very smart and well behaved. I would take this dog in a heartbeat if I had the opportunity.
After she checks out and can be adopted keep me in mind. I’ve had two min pins for the last 14 years. My Sammy passed a few years ago from tumors but my Pebbles is still here with me. She misses having a companion. ❤
Min pins are incredible, awesome personalities. My son had 2, and his roommate's pit bulls killed them. They had gotten along well, they lived together for many years, but I will never be supportive of pit bulls again. I just can't trust them, they can turn in the blink of an eye!!! I would LOVE to care for this sweet little girl, but I live in California and I can't afford to bring her to me. I will just quietly love her from afar....
Rocky, I just have to say, it's not just that we watch this channel 'cos we're dog/animal lovers. It wouldn't be the same without you. You are an inspiration. Speaking for myself, I love to watch you sitting with dogs, your gentle, compassionate, heart-based nature, your positive affirmations and how the dogs respond to you and your actions. Thank you. My heart sings every time ♥🐕😃
Totally agree, Rocky is wonderful ; it's so heart breaking then heart warming watching Rocky do his magic on these dogs, giving them the love they truly deserve, giving them hope and confidence. He is amazing.
How can you keep from crying seeing the condition of this little dog’s skin? This has too be extremely painful and itchy. My heart is breaking watching her. I have psoriatic arthritis and my skin gets extremely dry, cracking and itchy. My condition is mild but this little dog has an extreme skin condition. I hope the doctor’s can get a definitive diagnosis for the cause of this skin condition. I can’t wait to see her improvement and finding her loving forever home. ❤🐾 Thank you Rocky! ❤
My 'go to' response in this type of situation is usually impotent anger, since there is no definite cause, or concern to focus on yet!! But I'll wait until one is determined.

Your face when she brought herself wholly into your lap. It is a fantastic feeling when a needy animal gives full trust to you. God Bless her. She is a Mitzi girl!
When that little girl got fully up in Rocky’s lap, you can just see his effort to “Keep it cool. Calm the excitement. Just be cooooool.” I know… It’s hard when you want to squee a bit but you’re trying to keep your energy calm for them. Good job, Rocky. You deserve a treat. LOL
Rocky, You make my day every time I watch you with these unfortunate dogs. I feel God has blessed you with a gift of wisdom on how to befriend them. Thank you for your love of animals and treating them with kindness ✝️
She is going to become such a little lap-dog and love-bug, I can just see it, and the person who adopts her is going to feel so very loved. Good luck little girl !
Thank you Sir, Mr Rocky Kanaka for loving kindness toward these abandoned animals. Appreciating your help to find a home for them truly. ❤ from Singapore 🇸🇬
She just got adopted! I went on their website to see if she was still available for adoption, but she was already adopted. Sad for me happy for her :) I’m just happy she’s in a loving home now.
Leaving them would be the part that would kill me. When my sister and I rescued our two Sheltie sisters, I asked the woman who was fostering them how she does that without getting attached and having to let them go. She said she was able to do it because she knew that there was another one that needed her. I loved that answer. Ashley's a little sweetheart
My service dog just passed away on 4-24-24. It’s very hard for me to watch dog videos. I want to tell you that 12 yrs ago I rescued my dog from a kill shelter. I love your videos. My heart aches for these dogs. I’m in Upstate SC
I am so very sorry that you are experiencing such a life changing loss, my dog passed in the early morning hours of 23 March 2021, he was going to be 12 within a few months. I get you, for a long time I had felt that I would have dealt with the loss of a limb better than not having his presence in my daily life, I still miss him.
also, former dog groomer of 10 years. i LOVED the dogs that had skin issues or the heavy shedders. making a dog's skin feel better or getting that heavy undercoat out even with just a bath was SO much more rewarding than an already maintained yorkie or poodle haircut. the feeling of knowing you've helped a dog actually physically feel better is just so rewarding! i miss those days.
My therapy dog had a flea allergy so anytime she had fleas she would lose fur and look like this poor baby girl. She had to have flea medication and special baths all 15 years she lived with me. I rescued her as a puppy. The shelter staff were so happy because she was so sweet and she had been there so long that her number had been put on the euthanasia list for the next morning. She was very loved not just by me but her/my whole family. Her name was Nessy and she rescued me as I came very close to needing a wheelchair because of a bad back injury. She knew when I was feeling unwell and would do things to entertain me....she is now waiting for me in heaven. Blessings from South Eastern Australia, Dot
I had a Jack Russell with a flea allergy .....never ever found one on her but was told its droppings from them as well ......mainly cats and foxes in our area
The sadness in these poor dogs eyes is just heartbreaking. Thank God for angels like Rocky who bring attention (and hopefully loving homes) to these poor creatures.
I’m the opposite. Wound care nurse, retired, here. I’d grab her in a heartbeat. Get her on some high quality food from Sundays or Honest Kitchen. She’d get an anti fungal bath, then antibiotics. Applying melted coconut oil to the skin also since it’s both antibacterial and moisturizing. Antihistamines to control itching. I’ve fostered many dogs of different breeds with all different skin conditions. She looks like she’ll be a sweetheart to some family.
Castor oil works great too on the skin, I use on my dog, and also diluted in purified water in eyes for dry eyes from the allergy. She has the shine in her eyes back.
Great advice! I changed my little min-pin girl’s food after she developed skin issues, good quality healthy oil food (no canola!) and her skin and hair recovered 100%.
@@micchristi8533 You can also add omega 3 oil to the food. Olive oil , a tablespoon daily, really helps. And a whole egg, including the shell, once or twice weekly. If you have fish with bones, save the bones, dry them, and grind up to add to food. You don’t give them directly from the fish because they can get caught in the esophagus and puncture it.
She is adorable and so brave! I'm normally a big dog person, but she could convert me, for sure. If I didn't live so far away, I would totally be ready to adopt her, too. I hope you go rescue her! She looks like an extrovert who would love having a canine friend her own size. ❤
Yes, She looks like our stray-rescued Annie who was a min-pin or a Manchester terrier (bigger than a Chihuahua). Like Ashley she was immediately affectionate, even while she was shaking! LOL. She lived to 18 years, but I still miss her.
When you left Ashley, she went from sitting in HER blanket, to sitting on yours! 🥰 I think your scent staying behind is giving her great comfort after you're gone.👍Thank you for the love and care you gave thst sweet Angel!! 💞
Yes. Thats how loyal dogs be. The one who gives them the feel of stability and safety is the true leader. Thats why i realy hate people abusing this power over animals...
What a beautiful little princess! How anyone could neglect such a sweetie, is beyond me! Thank you for sitting with her, and bathing her. She looks so much better all ready! I'm sure she feels better thanks to you!
Years ago, my brother and I were driving near Mt. St. Helens when we came across a skeletal wreck of a dog whose skin looked like he was half elephant. Three months of regular food and a daily thyroid pill, Gifford the Newfie mix went from 70lbs to 112, from half bald crusty skin to glossy black double coat. And for the three years he was given this side of the Bridge, was the sweetest soul I've ever had the privilege to meet.
First time watcher and just subscribed. Clearly she was not treated right, had no clue of what a pet was, or kindness. You set her in the right direction to trust people, and believe she will be loved and treated well. When you arrived in her cage she did not know that. When you left her cage, she did. That is magical. In spite of her rough beginnings, we can see that she is bursting with love and devotion, just waiting for someone to see it. And I felt so happy for her to get that healing, warm bath! What a treat that must have been for her! Rocky you are a Rock Star in my book! Lol.
She’s beautiful😍Partial to chihuahuas and she reminds me of my two. They are so loyal and snuggly. Chihuahuas are the best. Praying for this sweet little girl and the others who are there with her❤️🙏
Oh, Rocky! 🥹 I think you're amazing for these dogs. She reminds me of how sweet my Whiskeys (yes, with a "s") was when he first came to us 9 years ago. He had no name, no toys, didn’t know how to play, and was only used for breeding. He was fearful, with a tail between the legs, but yet a very brave little boy, open to us, loving, and he trusted us. These stories help make my day, and I always have a smile on my face. I feel so much love for Ashley and happy you do, too! ❤🐾
Rocky, just a quick message to show how far you reach into peoples hearts. I'm in a ton of resin art groups and recently I was watching a tutorial and the lady I was watching spoke of you and how much she admired you. It blew me away with the depth of admiration she was voicing. I can see how far reaching your channel truly is and I have to admit it makes my heart sing with joy. Thank you, Kelly, Alexis, Mel and everyone else that steps up and steps in to give so much of your hearts and souls to these fur babies.
Hi Rocky, this is the second video of yours that I watched. I just left my 13-year narcissistic husband a few days ago. So, I kinda know what those abandoned dogs go through. And your encouraging words... I felt them right in my heart. Thank you for being so kind and loving and letting us witness it ❤
I have been adopting rescue dogs for about 10 years. My latest, Crumpet, is a chihuahua/Maltese mix who came from the streets of San Jose, CA. She was 12 when I adopted her, and she was very wary. It took a few days before she would come out of her crate. But she is precious! She sleeps on my bed most of the time, loves walks, and likes expensive dog food 😊 which I am happy to provide. She has quirks, she doesn’t know how to kiss but her little tongue comes out after loves from me☺️ I’ve had this sweet dog for over a year now. I love her so much!
You are helping by rescuing ❤ I wish I could help all the animals living without love, food, care, kindness etc. But we do what we can❤ I do it too, but so many get dumped on my road that I have to give some to my local pound or humane society and it breaks my heart. I'm not a rescue facility but I can't just let them starve or be without medical treatment so I do what I can for them❤ . Thank you ❤
Ma’am, I second what Shell5503 commented 😊 You ARE helping and I’m so grateful for people like you and everyone who does something to help. Together we can all contribute and make a difference. 🫶🏼🙏 Thank you for rescuing!
She looked right up into your face within minutes of you going in. She has great instincts, and once she has a person willing to work with her (soon to be) boundless energy, she will flourish. Obstacle course, harrier/jumping race, frisbee, maybe even herding! She is full of love and hope and will do her best for her people!
This just made my day! Whenever I doubt humanity in society, I stumble over something like this. The world needs more people like you! Such a kind and patient soul. Sometimes when people do a job for so long they get hardened to horrible things and go on autopilot and forget to have simple empathy. Animals can't tell us there horror stories and why they act the way they do. Poor sweet girl must have been living under horrible conditions and has to be exhausted from her itchy skin and lord knows what else on the inside. You should post more videos like this and I bet all the animals there will find good loving homes! I really like how you explain everything along the way. It shows you care for her and understand her. Keep doing what you are doing. 😊
I've volunteered with rescues for many years and fostered many dogs, and it's always hard not to feel dispirited when you see so many sad cases. One of the things I've always told myself is that I can't save every dog, but I can save one and every dog I foster helped save 2 dogs ... the dog I foster and the space that creates for another dog to come into the rescue. Ashley is so adorable, I'm not surprised you fell in love with her.
Dogs can get to your heart quicker than anything. My daughter's pet pigs both died in 2020 and now we ventured to get a tiny Jack Russell mix from the shelter in February. I hadn't had a dog in decades and we are in love with her, so loyal, spirited and sweet. I had forgotten how a little warm, intelligent, trusting being can grab your heart. Shelter dogs are great.
Those. Fureaking! EARS! She is ridonculously cute and so brave and sweet. I hope she finds the best forever home EVER. I just cannot wait to see her come out of her shell and play and scamper and yip. I hope she is able to regain some confidence, maybe with the help of a canine friend. What a little beauty.
We were adopted by an abandoned rat terrier. We live in the country and stray animals are not unusual. She was the sweetest, best humored dog. We were lucky she picked us!
Im so happy you liked the pillow. And honored you named her after me! Thank you for your kind words. Watching this after a hard night. But have a big grin after your reaction.

This was one darling little dog - not a snap, growl, bite -- just open to any and all love Rocky could offer her. I hope she finds her forever home.
After she checks out and can be adopted keep me in mind. I’ve had two min pins for the last 14 years. My Sammy passed a few years ago from tumors but my Pebbles is still here with me. She misses having a companion. ❤
having had a rat terrier before, that's my guess.
No. My tumor baby was pure bread. My pebbles who is still with me has some chihuahua.

It is amazing to see her repond so positively to touch. I’m sure we also benefit when petting a dog.

The video barely STARTED and I am crying my eyes out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your love for and devotion with these lost children!!!
This man is such an angel, his cares for all details... His imediat concern for her skin, oh goodness . What a wonderful soul you have, Sir.

Thank you Harriet 🙏❤️
@@rockykanakayour very welcome, I just wish I could do more. ❤️
My 'go to' response in this type of situation is usually impotent anger, since there is no definite cause, or concern to focus on yet!! But I'll wait until one is determined.
Min pin, bad/dry skin is a breed issue. Love penguino the min pin x from England xx

So adorable getting her bath. You are a wonderful person. I don’t know how you don’t get sad and burnt out from seeing all these poor souls.
My service dog just passed away on 4-24-24. It’s very hard for me to watch dog videos. I want to tell you that 12 yrs ago I rescued my dog from a kill shelter. I love your videos. My heart aches for these dogs. I’m in Upstate SC
I’m so sorry for your loss and prayers to heal your broken heart 💔
I'm very sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. BIG HUGS!
I worked as a vet tech and bathed many dogs. FLuffy Corgis were my favorite to bathe. So beautiful and fluffy after.
The way she carefully positioned herself on the blanket that had your smell on it, I just melted!
Yeah you've noticed that too 😊 I thought the same. Was kind of sad because maybe she attached to him and would be sad when he left
I love her so much
I love your face when a dog just jumps in your lap for a scoop 😊😊😊

It’s a nice sentiment, but it’s simply not true.
If I were a dog, I would LOVE to be your dog. You really know how to take care of one ❤

Put your dirty nightie or jamies in there with her and she will cuddle up and be okay.
And did we see the start of a tiny wag of the tail?
Yes. Thats how loyal dogs be. The one who gives them the feel of stability and safety is the true leader. Thats why i realy hate people abusing this power over animals...

You sweet dork. You are the sweetest man I think I've ever seen. Thanks for all you do.

Rocky's videos and his & Kelly's upbeat personalities are so uplifting!
Lol.

Oh, Rocky! 🥹 I think you're amazing for these dogs. She reminds me of how sweet my Whiskeys (yes, with a "s") was when he first came to us 9 years ago. Making me cry happy when little itchy girl went into your lap and enjoyed petting!! Thank you
My heart went crazy when she came to your lap...... Such beautiful moment
She looked right up into your face within minutes of you going in. She has great instincts, and once she has a person willing to work with her (soon to be) boundless energy, she will flourish. Obstacle course, harrier/jumping race, frisbee, maybe even herding! She is full of love and hope and will do her best for her people!
When she got into your lap forget about her heart, your heart melted. ❤
Thanks for making that precious little girl feel better and loved!!!!
Omg the joy in her eyes when she got in your lap and realized how nice petting is. Immediately melted like an ice cube on a Phoenix sidewalk.

Thank you for being a gem
Dogs can get to your heart quicker than anything. My daughter's pet pigs both died in 2020 and now we ventured to get a tiny Jack Russell mix from the shelter in February. I hadn't had a dog in decades and we are in love with her, so loyal, spirited and sweet. I had forgotten how a little warm, intelligent, trusting being can grab your heart. Shelter dogs are great.
