Seems successful women never pull for each other. I like Martha Stewart. Her gardening and cooking shows are very relaxing, very homey. I may not do many of the things she does on her shows, but the act of watching her kneed bread or plant flowers or talk about her animals... very soothing. I am sorry to hear her show on the Hallmark channel is going off. I don't know what she or Cybil are "truly" like, all I know is she is soothing to watch. Like watching a cat sleep can only make you relaxed.
I loved Cybil's portrayal of Martha. The movie was for entertainment. I don't know if Martha's really a bitch because I've never met her. Martha is a successful businessperson and if she had to be a bitch to do it that's fine with me. EVERY GOOD COOK NEEDS A COPPER POT!!!!!
I don't think anyone could accurately tell the story of Martha Stewart. Their is a genius in her ability to have marketed herself in all things practical and of good taste. But I also think she is flawed. Her ego and sense of grandeur about herself is unwavering. This flaw also played a part in her success. I think she is missing the sensitivity gene. She has no filter with her opinions of others. She takes pleasure in others weaknesses.
In Cybill's book, it never says, that i read anyway, that Charles Grodin leaves his wife for Cybill. It only says that they had a one night stand and that when she found out he was living with someone, Cybill ended it. That is what was written. Also, Martha shouldn't be so mad at Cybill's portrayal as an actress, so much as the people who made the movie. Come on, Martha!
You'de think Stewart would know the difference in a paid actress and a role she's playing; even if it is her. BTW, if she'd risk her career (and a potential prison sentence) by lieing about a lousy $37,000 stock, I can so see her pouring expensive wine back into a bottle.
Although I am a fan of Martha, I don't think she was very gracious in this interview. "I don't know why she'd do that (play martha)" ..umm because she's an actress and thats what they do-play people. Why are you mad at Cybill and not the creators of the film?? And why are you putting someone down continuously just because they portrayed you? She sounds extremely shallow, like she can't handle being criticized and has absolutely no depth. Insecure..
I agree. I think it is in very poor taste, not to mention poor integrity to spend time on her show criticizing anyone. I just can't stand 'famous' people when they do that.

There's no way you can deny that Martha's talented, nor does she seem to lack selfesteem. As for youth, isn't Cybil about the same age? Youth is very over rated anyway, the only thing young people have are greasy skin and lack of personality.

CS did a bad job playing MS. She must have been desperate. Her career has been in the tank after Moonlighting.
