Jokes aside, here's something I learned recently: if you dislike a video, UA-cam is actually stupid enough to still consider that as "engaging" with it and thinks it should be shown to more people, meaning that it's basically better to not "Dislike" a video that you actually dislike!
What he said about journalists having to consider triggers is so so so important. I remember, a couple of months back, a video popped up on my youtube home page when I was just looking for stuff to watch out of boredom. The video was titled 'Chester Bennington's suicide: 5 saddest reasons' and the thumbnail picture was a picture of the body (which god knows how they got or why they thought it was respectful to put it on the internet). I never searched for this. I never clicked on the video. But I had no way of escaping the picture. It triggered me, one of the worst triggers I've ever had. To this day, I still can't think of him without seeing this picture in my head... People need to understand that their actions affect people. They need to learn to take responsibility.
I know the thumbnail you're talking about... It's not Chester. The closest thing to a picture of Chester's body are the overhead pics of the body bag on a gurney, when they took his body out of the home.

Most of the issues with journalism is not with the journalists but rather with the OWNERS of the newspapers, magazines, TV stations, and radio stations. They only care about PROFIT and stories that have dirt in them are the ones that get the most attention. I actually work in the journalism field and while I prefer the feature fluff pieces, the higher ups want the dirt and scandalous stuff because it makes THEM richer.
Oh my god i am so sorry for your loss. Not so long after Chester, my uncle passed away due to cancer. and a day after his funeral, My cousin, who was the same age as me committed suicide by hanging. I know how you feel. I was literally broken and couldn't move for days

I get ideations quite often, at least once a week. I suffer greatly with widespread chronic pain & this opioid epidemic has caused many others like myself who are suffering additional pain & for me, increased my mental illnesses 10-fold. The chronic pain community has already lost so many to #suicideduetopain because of so many reasons. We haven’t been able to live like our doctors, government & the rest of the world. We survive. Our government is partly responsible as for our crappy healthcare system. We need a voice! We can’t fight by ourselves and the few doctors we have on our side. I can’t even imagine the pain you have gone through. A year and a half later & I’m still grieving the loss of Chester. I watch UA-cam concert videos because it helps, but also brings tears. I even got his signature tattooed on my arm with a butterfly & a semicolon (for mental health awareness.) I plan to continue & finish. I’m so very grateful for all of you & I love the ghost video! lol Super cute & made me smile. Thank you for being you!
In the Australian media, there are rules (maybe laws?) about how suicide is reported, so that it is not triggering. The method is never described, and often, the word suicide is not even used. They will simply report a death, and then say something like, 'police say the death is not suspicious.' And then, at the end of the article, there will be a list of helplines that we have in Australia for people who might be struggling with the same issues. Some people argue that by reporting in this way, the plight of suicide is being ignored, that the media are not bringing awareness to the issue. I don't know how I feel- as someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts myself, I don't know which method of reporting is better.
I read somewhere (while researching the subject) that in most of the world there are recommendations and guidelines about how to report it that most news sources use, but it's not mandatory and some don't use it/ people have different guidelines for different sites. Also, now with social media, anyone can become a journalist without knowing how to do it well and in a respectful manner, so that's another issue. Also, in my opinion it IS important to say it was a suicide (mainly because keeping it mysterious can generate more attention than needed, conspiracy theories and rumours), but you have to be careful to not make it the center of the article. Do not make an entire article about specific details of their death (which I've seen some people do, unfortunately) or glorify them.

Coincidentally, I just read a new article about this topic (reporting it) last week- calling for an overhaul to how the Australian media reports suicides, by one of the country's top mental health experts. I'm not sure if it will happen, I guess we'll have to wait and see, but there was an emphasis on even little things like wording, for example, saying that someone 'died from depression' or 'as a result of depression' instead of saying 'committed suicide' so that you are reiterating that the person died from a legitimate medical condition, not (what used to be considered) a criminal act, in an attempt to reduce some more of the stigma around it. What do you think?

As someone who almost died from it, I know that it was NOT a decision and felt like an external force doing it to me. Saying 'died from depression' is definitely the best way to approach that. It both avoids blaming the person and does not glorify them at the same time.

I like how your telling us how to value our connection with life and living happy. This is so important. I agree some things are better left not rehatched or made a spectacle of. In respect to Chester and all of you that knew him we should stop eating up media that’s negative just for info. Cause that info ends up being what coerces us down a negative mental repertoire. We try to wuell out thoughts but our own dillousions of believing we knew him from the way his part in your music guided us all through our own tough times. For me i think the news ends at the shock of it. I used to mentally ask myself what happened or why. But after all he had shared with us about his own struggles i think i too had to box myself out from wanting to know for sure. And i for sure didnt trust some media source. That was difficult to watch, and anyone in the comments please let me know if you have heard this as well or anything else pertaining to it; I FINALLY heard the 911 call for Chester and it took about a year and a half to two years to be released. Anyways, when I heard it I had chills...; It's Mike talking to the dispatcher in the most calmest voice, that he may as well had been ordering takeout. He was driving Chester's wife home. (I know there is speculation with maybe some truth of the fact that Chester's wife was having an affair with Mike) and the third voice in the background is the housekeeper. She is the only one I could hear that was showing any emotion whatsoever. She was screaming and crying. While Mike was acting way too calm. So when he started mentioning Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain, and others, something just didn't sit right with me about that. Considering the names that he named, I have a bad feeling that Mike has either a side of him we don't want to know, or worse; he may be involved. I could go on and on. I've always been curious of your song's like Shadow of the day, Waiting for the end to come, the Catalyst and final masquerade. What direction were you guy's going with in the Music Videos? It's also bizzare your first song was what I've done before you guy's transitioned over to a new style of music. Very Apocalyptic feel to go from a video of the world falling apart to making song's about the end.

I FINALLY heard the 911 call for Chester and it took about a year and a half to two years to be released. Anyways, when I heard it I had chills...; It's Mike talking to the dispatcher in the most calmest voice, that he may as well had been ordering takeout. He was driving Chester's wife home. (I know there is speculation with maybe some truth of the fact that Chester's wife was having an affair with Mike) and the third voice in the background is the housekeeper. She is the only one I could hear that was showing any emotion whatsoever. She was screaming and crying. While Mike was acting way too calm.
So when he started mentioning Kate Spade, Anthony Bourdain, and others, something just didn't sit right with me about that. Considering the names that he named, I have a bad feeling that Mike has either a side of him we don't want to know, or worse; he may be involved. I could go on and on. I've stayed on top of this topic since their deaths happened in 2017.

@GTS i remembered being let down by MTM, it only had 5 listenable songs on it. however not LP style. the majority of songs where so 1 note and unbelievable boring. LP already conquered the world with their first cd. soon after they sold out in the way that they wanted to keep making different music to appeal to different wider audiences. example: very metal hunting party and the very pop one more light, very mediocre rock MTM.
