I think they're suffering from an inferiority complex--he's the tallest, smart as all hell, and got a sweet nice personality. In Korea, modelling is nowhere near as respected as being a chemist or a scientist. I think they're jealous that he has two options, the best of both worlds. I feel bad for him. I hope he can see that and that he realizes his worth.

To be honest, it's his uniqueness to EVERYONE else in his college that will allow him to debut! Celebrities are always different, something unique. I think being a science student myself I understand why they don't find him funny but I will actually enjoy his company. People don't believe in but what you study or major in affects how you talk & how you act also he took only 1 class on walking they expecting him to master it in a single attempt.
He is very brave and inspiring. For me, I have only studied and only thought about the ranks of the schools I attended and the prestige of the degree I take. So, if I don't meet them I get anxious and depressed. I would never take such a huge jump in my life. It's not easy to change from a secure degree to a risky degree. The fact he did that and shows no regrets despite all his current limitations and failures, is very, very inspiring. He is happier than many of us.
I've had that thought for soooo long! I only just realized after battling with lots of insecurities relating to getting into a schools that are well known and of high prestige. But in reality if you know what your interested, passionate and feel joy in and then honestly strive in that field then no matter what school you go to you'll be happy.
His professor really sees the potential in him, she was nodding when he said that the problem was his mindset. he has the looks and the height. He can learn how to walk and pose, and along the way he'd gain confidence. Modelling is a skill that you can learn. The other students just find him weird for being different and awkward but hopefully through this they'd change their mindset and befriend him. Hello counselor should just cater to these types of problems. Let's not dive into serious and problematic ones

Although everything was done in fun and humor, I feel that he was being mocked for the most part of the show. Good thing he was a great sport about. I know they don't mean to humiliate him and just making it fun, but it's those kinds of light and passive comments that probably pulled his confidence down in the first place. I took up Arts and Design in college, and a lot of people were surprised by that because I'm quite good with my academics specially Math and Science (my mom was expecting I'd take up engineering). Like this guest, my confidence also dropped when I got into college because everybody else is better than me, I wanted to quit and change course. But luckily, I ended up in a class with the most supportive classmates ever! They encouraged me and shared their knowledge with me. I would've quit for sure if it weren't for them (we still hang out now, 13 yrs after we've graduated). I hope he also gets to surround himself with friends who'll be supportive of him :) I'd say, as long as he's happy with this dream, then he shouldn't change it and keep on working hard to achieve it. It's not like he's delusional because even his professor has good expectations of him :) As for his humor, I think he's funny as is. I also have a friend who has a very dry humor. At first, I thought "what the?! is he serious? O.o", it took us a while to realize that he was actually joking~ So now I'm looking forward to his comments because I really find them funny, and watching other people's reaction (who doesn't know him well) is really interesting as well :D I'd say that he should stick with his sense of humor, as long as he doesn't hurt anyone else and it doesn't affect his career, I see no reason why he should change. Even if he does change to become less funny, there'll people who'd say he's too serious; and if he tries harder to adapt to the usual type of humor, they'd probably say he's trying too hard. I love his personality. I'm dealing with something similar. I am tall (6') and I guess I am good looking enough because everyone has told me since I was young that I should do modeling. But I am very shy and unconfident. My group is kinda nerdy you know. I am an athlete, musician, and get good grades (I'll be attending Georgia Tech next school year), but I always feel that I won't fit into the modeling scene. It seems like a place for more charismatic and confident people, but I think modeling would be cool and can help me build my confidence. Now I also slightly want to do modeling not only for those purposes and my love for Naomi Campbell (my dad is a fashion designer for men's suits and has taught me to idolize her cuz her walk is just amazing) but to possibly meet people that have helped me be happier. It'd be awesome to meet someone like Han Hyunmin (I'm only 5 days older than him apparently haha) as a plus if I ever do make it in the modeling world (I'd be doing mostly for me ofc that's so creepy to do it just to get close to someone haha). Anyway, my point in all of this is that many careers and lifestyles have these stereotypes for how the person should act. Why can't there be a smart model or a handsome scientist? I believe that with the right mindset and practice, he can do it. Shy people can learn to be sociable and charismatic in their own way (I actually think he is an extrovert pretty clearly). I wish him well in whatever he chooses to do.
Maybe he should find friends who share the same interests and humour with him. I doubt that many model students(including his friends) "get" that kind of personality he has. That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with him, it's just that he and his friends don't have much in common, so he comes off as weird/awkward. Maybe he should get into sciences instead, where he could find a lot of likeminded people.
Looks arents important, in modeling industry. as long as your tall, and be unique, project or be charismatic on stage, you will do great, he has character, he will make it someday in showbiz, sometimes people forget, yes there are pretty and handsome people, but if they have no character, they are just dolls, boring. They are just the same like everyone, they wont stand out. The people who stand out the most, and the funny ones, the smart one, being pretty or handsome is just a bonus.

I think being a science student myself I understand why they don't find him funny but I will actually enjoy his company. People don't believe in but what you study or major in affects how you talk & how you act also he took only 1 class on walking they expecting him to master it in a single attempt.

He is very brave and inspiring. For me, I have only studied and only thought about the ranks of the schools I attended and the prestige of the degree I take. So, if I don't meet them I get anxious and depressed. I would never take such a huge jump in my life. It's not easy to change from a secure degree to a risky degree. The fact he did that and shows no regrets despite all his current limitations and failures, is very, very inspiring. He is happier than many of us.
I've had that thought for soooo long! I only just realized after battling with lots of insecurities relating to getting into a schools that are well known and of high prestige. But in reality if you know what your interested, passionate and feel joy in and then honestly strive in that field then no matter what school you go to you'll be happy.

Although everything was done in fun and humor, I feel that he was being mocked for the most part of the show. Good thing he was a great sport about. I know they don't mean to humiliate him and just making it fun, but it's those kinds of light and passive comments that probably pulled his confidence down in the first place.
I took up Arts and Design in college, and a lot of people were surprised by that because I'm quite good with my academics specially Math and Science (my mom was expecting I'd take up engineering). Like this guest, my confidence also dropped when I got into college because everybody else is better than me, I wanted to quit and change course. But luckily, I ended up in a class with the most supportive classmates ever! They encouraged me and shared their knowledge with me. I would've quit for sure if it weren't for them (we still hang out now, 13 yrs after we've graduated). I hope he also gets to surround himself with friends who'll be supportive of him :) I'd say, as long as he's happy with this dream, then he shouldn't change it and keep on working hard to achieve it. It's not like he's delusional because even his professor has good expectations of him :)
As for his humor, I think he's funny as is. I also have a friend who has a very dry humor. At first, I thought "what the?! is he serious? O.o", it took us a while to realize that he was actually joking~ So now I'm looking forward to his comments because I really find them funny, and watching other people's reaction (who doesn't know him well) is really interesting as well :D I'd say that he should stick with his sense of humor, as long as he doesn't hurt anyone else and it doesn't affect his career, I see no reason why he should change. Even if he does change to become less funny, there'll people who'd say he's too serious; and if he tries harder to adapt to the usual type of humor, they'd probably say he's trying too hard. I'm glad he said that the problem is "in his mind"-- we can't control other people's reaction to a situation, we could only control our own :D Wishing him the best!

I love his personality. I'm dealing with something similar. I am tall (6') and I guess I am good looking enough because everyone has told me since I was young that I should do modeling. But I am very shy and unconfident. My group is kinda nerdy you know. I am an athlete, musician, and get good grades (I'll be attending Georgia Tech next school year), but I always feel that I won't fit into the modeling scene. It seems like a place for more charismatic and confident people, but I think modeling would be cool and can help me build my confidence. Now I also slightly want to do modeling not only for those purposes and my love for Naomi Campbell (my dad is a fashion designer for men's suits and has taught me to idolize her cuz her walk is just amazing) but to possibly meet people that have helped me be happier. It'd be awesome to meet someone like Han Hyunmin (I'm only 5 days older than him apparently haha) as a plus if I ever do make it in the modeling world (I'd be doing mostly for me ofc that's so creepy to do it just to get close to someone haha). Anyway, my point in all of this is that many careers and lifestyles have these stereotypes for how the person should act. Why can't there be a smart model or a handsome scientist? I believe that with the right mindset and practice, he can do it. Shy people can learn to be sociable and charismatic in their own way (I actually think he is an extrovert pretty clearly). I wish him well in whatever he chooses to do.
Maybe he should find friends who share the same interests and humour with him. I doubt that many model students(including his friends) "get" that kind of personality he has.
That being said, I don't think there's anything wrong with him, it's just that he and his friends don't have much in common, so he comes off as weird/awkward.
Maybe he should get into sciences instead, where he could find a lot of likeminded people.

Looks arents important, in modeling industry. as long as your tall, and be unique, project or be charismatic on stage, you will do great, he has character, he will make it someday in showbiz, sometimes people forget, yes there are pretty and handsome people, but if they have no character, they are just dolls, boring.
