I think the belief in true love is a tragic mistake. People have this idea that they will find someone who is a perfect fit for them starting off as a 10/10. Then the initial rush of love fades and there are arguments/obstacles and that 10/10 slowly goes down to a 8/10, a 6/10 a 2/10 and people think I must have found the wrong person instead of trying to make the relationship work. This can be particularly tragic with kids. I think the healthier and more effective belief is to think people can form a relationship with almost anyone who is open to new experiences, willing to put work into making the relationship a success, has the ability to compromise and negotiate. Recognize that the relationship will probably start at a 3/10, 4/10 with both people guarded, awkward and not their best self. But building a relationship is like bringing a team together, it's based off of encountering and overcoming obstacles and the bond that these shared successes create. Soon that 3/10 relationship grows to a 6/10, a 9/10 and this growth encourages people that they made the right decision.
Culture gives us too much fantasy about love. Just like all other relationship, love faces troubles and can go wrong. Let people know, except for the very lucky minority, love is just a specially business relationship need to be cared and managed from time to time, do not complain about love without good endeavor.
Would have liked a theologian to be featured on this… agape love is an interesting concept worth exploring in a debate like this one. Regardless this should be good though.

I truly love John Donvan! The way you frame questions, reframe attendees positions and the way you listen is so inspiring. Thank you!

I truly love video games.
True love for a man and a woman are different. Happy are those who meet inbetween.

Love cant be a myth it has to be real because where would you you even get the concept from if it didnt exist?
Do you happen to subscribe to Plato’s theory of forms?
THAT IS the dumbest fucking argument i have heard, its like saying goblins exist simply because the stories exist
