Hi John. I want to commend you on the great videos you have put together. They are awesome! You have a way of explaining something simply, clearly and concisely. I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind disclosing the exact climbing line and accessory cords you use along with the carabiners and where they may be purchased (trying to locate Sterling Superstatic2 by the foot), I have been recreational climbing for about 2 years and I know that different ropes (manufacturer, makeup, size, etc.) have various properties and work very differently. I have purchased several ropes trying to achieve a certain method others demonstrated only to find out that they didn’t work. I am sure many people watching your videos would very much appreciate the information. Thank you again for your service and time to the hunting and recreational climbing sport!

Thank you for the comment sincerely. I have a Facebook group with the same name and a detailed SHOPPING LIST post with all the details i am aware of. I purchased my Sterling ropes directly from Sterling, although they have a network of distributors. I bought 150ft of Superstatic2 and simply made 2 rigs. Also one of 100ft of Oplux. I am not aware of where we can get them in shorter quantities but interested in knowing. That's the perfect kind of thing for discussion in the group should you join.

A lot of us are rappelling on a madrock safeguard. What does adding the munter give you? Is it for better control? Thanks,. I'm learning a lot.

Your comment is more applicable to the attached video, in case you haven't seen it. There are a lot of great devices on the market, but: 1. you do need to buy them 2. They typically don't work on the smallest ropes a saddle hunter might want to use. 3. You might drop it or lose it. 4. They are supposed to be run along with a backup.
With the Munter, every carabiner and rope is an independent rappel system. If you already have invested in a device, I'm not saying not to use it. But you should know this as a backup.
