At the end one girl's book sticks to her head - clearly on purpose, but why? The same girl also nearly kicked the girl in front's chair over - was that deliberate? Was there a message/joke around that one girl gettings things wrong-on-purpose?
The book sticking thing is a little built-in joke about someone "cheating" at the classic finishing school posture exercise. Kicking the chair was an unfortunate accident, but thank goodness Talia caught it and was able to quickly recover. Even the most well-rehearsed dances sometimes have unexpected things happen, especially whenever props are involved.
Thankyou! Sort of what I thought - one accident, and the book clearly deliberate. These guys are absolutely amazing - the synchrony is almost always perfect, which is so immpressive to watch. I heard about these guys on the TV show - I'm coming round to the idea that ALDC is a mediocre/good dance troupe, but mostly something that has been created to make money through any available opportunity. Saying that, Maddie's performances on Chandelier and Elastic Heart are awesome, and the production/choreography are of a class that's hard to match. But mostly ALDC is about making a TV show that hooks people in. These girls just dance at a different level, and the relative simplicity of their hair and costumes says they know they can dance, whereas ALDC seems to be more about the surface shine of bows and sparkles with some 'fairly good' dance thrown in. What do you think of that assessment? I don't know about dance - I'm just saying what I think based on what I see.
I think you summed it up very well. I would add a couple things. On the TV show, the dancers are given some new choreo and have like 2 or 3 days to get ready to compete. No normal studio does that. Dances are rehearsed for weeks before competitions even start and then more as the season progresses. Secondly, the show is named Dance Moms for a reason and the focus is not really on the dancers or the dancing so much as the conflicts that arise between their moms. Unfortunately, sometimes the children get enmeshed in it as well. So I can't actually watch the show; it makes me ill.
Actually, my daughter is the one who's book was stuck and that was not intentional. There is a clip on each book and the clip got stuck in her hair. Absolutely nothing to do with cheating in school or anything. She kicked the chair because of the chairs placements during the dance.
If this isn't the best competitive dance group, I don't know what is.
They are just so good. No stopping it
This is amazing!!😍😍
Is that Talia in the middle at the front and she’s the girl that didn’t beat Maddie on Dance Moms
💕 👌La musique 🎶 parfait

I looked a few times but couldn't find the kick. But thanks for the book thing. Added to it. On a side note I loved the stings doing this song.
