What a great video. Know what? I'm almost 70 years old, and I am going to the Canyon very soon, and visiting that big, deep, beautiful, joker. I know my wife and i would love it. Thank you for such a great video.
Very nice. I came across a video documentary of the Grand Canyon at a Dollar Store depicting some of the similar venues. This tour was really nice to see and beautiful view and colors.
Great video thank you! I have an upcoming trip stay at Kachina. However the high temps are making me think a switch to Maswick might be more comfortable for a good night's sleep.
Thank you very much for the very nice compliment. We were there in the beginning of May, still a bit chilly in the mornings and warmed up during the daytime
Great video! I’m wondering where exactly is that park entrance seen at 3:00? I know you said the south rim entrance but I can’t seem to find it on the map. Trying to decide which lodging location you highlighted best suits my family’s needs; whether or not to stay right on the rim or not. I guess I’m also trying to figure out which way to enter and pay the fee
Hi Richard. Thank you for the nice feedback. Always great to know we are producing something useful. Are you actually headed to the Grand Canyon? Hopefully you can utilize some of the tips!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching. If you are thinking about going to the grand canyon we also put a video together for some of the easy hikes at the canyon if you are interested. Thanks again for watching!!!
Hi Martin. Appreciate the feedback. Always nice to hear from our viewers. Please keep watching. If you liked this video you might also like our Sedona and RMNP videos.
Hi from the Netherlands! A-mazing video. Helps really in our preparation in visiting GC next April with our daughters (8,5 and 6,5). We want to walk a small part into the canyon. Considering both SK to ooh Aah or BA to the second tunnel. Ooh Aah point seems more impressive regarding to views. Is it an appropriate hike for our daughters? We are not concerned about the lenght or steep climb, but more about the drop offs next to the switchbacks (especially the bends in there). What do you guys think? Thanks so much!
Hi Silvabeuf. I think any of the hikes we mentioned should be quite safe. There are switchbacks but not really dangerous. OohAhh point probably has the best views.
Where would one park to hop on the shuttle initially? Would it be the visitors center? Also, we are used to hauling a case of water in our trunk at the parks. Are there water filling stations at the shuttle stops?
Hey There Adventure The map in our video shows little “bus icons” on it - those are all the stops. They are basically at every key place and trailhead as well as important overlooks - the village, market plaza, visitor center, south kaibab trailhead, hermits rest, etc. Anywhere half way important will have a stop and you can get a free map when you enter the park. Also, the big destinations like the Village and Visitor Center as well as key trailheads will have water filling stations. Please come back and let us know how your trip went! Hope our guide will be of use.
Great video so far, I would just be careful about talking about how the Spanish "discovered" the GC thanks to the Hopi who were already living there. It's time to revisit that narrative.
Hello! How many of the beginner's hiking trails can we do in 1 full-day? We wanted to visit Grand Canyon for 1 full-day and wanted to do RIM TRAIL (morning) and SOUTH KAIBAB TRAIL (afternoon). Is that possible? Thanks!
This was a really informative video! Please, for the love of god; learn how to pronounce the Indigenous tribes’ names of the places your presenting about!!💖
The canyon was not first discovered by Europeans in 1540. The natives had known about the canyon centuries before the Europeans. Do not whitewash history.
Hi Amin If you watched the video closely you would realize that’s what we said - watch it again s l o w l y if you need to convince yourself. Is says ‘discover by Europeans when they were taken there by local Hopi Indian guides’…. Just to be clear - Everything in the ‘new world’ was discovered by a European at some point. That doesn’t mean those places weren’t already known and discovered by natives at some point earlier. Unfortunately in most cases we don’t know those earlier dates, and more importantly, those dates are not relevant to the context of the story about the development of the canyon.
@@scottsdaletravelchick how were these things discovered when they were already inhabited. this is intentionally done to avoid feelings of guilt and shame. I didn't come to the video for this but when you say things like that its problematic
Hi Real King. See my other response to another commentor. Substitute “seen” for “discovered” if that makes you feel better! Hope you enjoyed the video otherwise.
@@scottsdaletravelchick Oh no feelings were harmed in the viewing of this video ma'am. Im just a logical person and so when I saw that portion of the video and heard colonizing being termed as discovery, it just triggered my logical brain and I thought "well that's not an accurate depiction of what happened!" But other than that I enjoyed the video and got what I came for, so no need to substitute terms for me, I'll leave the onus on you.
Great ad for overpriced restaurants, hotels, memorabilia shops, helicopter tours, etc., etc. I'm sure huge investments into the Canyon area would be returned eventually with huge profits.
How can you it was discovered when the local native people took them there. How about saying the Europeans learned of the canyon when the locals took them there.
Well, I was able to tolerate 17 minutes of that gawdawful music. Other than that, it's a pretty interesting video. Thanks for the 1st 17 minutes, at least. ;)
@jeaniee5524 happy for ya. I'll never figure out why a documentary can't just be a documentary. So many add that crappy, royalty free music that usually just ruins the video. If I want to listen to background music, I'll pick it. But, when it's in a video, if I don't care for it, I can't shut it off.
This is the best video I have seen in awhile. Thank you for your detail.
Thank you for the kind comments!!!! We try & make our videos as informative as possible.

This is the best video about the Grand Canyon South Rim that I have found! What time of year did you visit?
Thank you very much for the very nice compliment.

What overlook is that at 16:14?
Is there a haze problem when photographing in summer

Amazing, How many days you saw all of this. Attraction?
I think we did it in 2 or 3 days. So many hikes to take, we really enjoyed the biking as well.
Thanks amazing 🤩
hi! in what month did you guys visit the Grand Canyon? how was the weather? :)
Like always great content thanks for always showing us great sites
Good video
It looks amazing and I would now go for it next time the actual north and south entrance. The western part of the Canyon has not much to do. Gr8 tips
music off option?
Very interesting and detailed video about this beautiful place, I would like to visit it

Two of the three are possible. Like you are planning, doing the rim trail and then one of the other two is probably best.
This was a really informative video! Please, for the love of god; learn how to pronounce the Indigenous tribes’ names of the places your presenting about!!💖
The pictures would be better without the woman in every picture. Save those for your family photo album.
I discovered the Grand Canyon in 2015 lol
Love that!!!! It’s quite impressive
The Grand Canyon has been discovered hundreds of years before the Europeans found it by the native people.
You forgot the animatronic fox that lives down there he is a notable attraction
Hopi is pronounced with a long O. Its not Hoppy
Okay thanks for the information
Hopefully you got some details on how to make the most out of the Grand Canyon 👍 thanks for watching

You said “first discovered”
meaning Europeans didn't know about it before that. Yes, the Hopi did
地球是我們的,是國際村,不要計較那麼多的不重要的事情,歐洲人印地安人亞洲人⋯⋯重要的是我們活在地球上
how was it first discovered by europeans in 1540 when they were taken there by "local indian tour guides"?
Hi Real King.

“First discovered” Please kindly consider your point of view ❤
How can you it was discovered when the local native people took them there. How about saying the Europeans learned of the canyon when the locals took them there.
Is that the only thing that you “took” from the video?
Is everyone pronouncing Hopi differently now? I always heard it said “Hōpī”like hope, not “Hǒpi” like hop like a rabbit
Well, I was able to tolerate 17 minutes of that gawdawful music.
