  • I have only REALLY been riding for a year and a half. I've been fortunate enough to be surrounded by some amazing riders that have helped me advance my riding significantly over the past few months.
I have always heard that Windrock was the gnarliest place in the southeast to ride, and so I had my doubts on my ability to tackle the terrain. But I stayed confident in my ability and went out there to have an amazing time, regardless if I could ride it or not. The least I could do is try.
Willem drove down from Rhode Island to practice this week, and will be racing in the 2024 Tennessee Nationals Enduro. You will notice he is not in many of the videos.... and thats because he is fast... REALLY fast. I hope he is killing it out there today and tomorrow. Kris is always fun to ride with and if he's not absolutely dominating the trail, its always funny to watch him not be able to unclip his pedals and gracefully falling, multiple times lol.
Had the pleasure to meet Aaron Gwin and see the areas leading up to the new bike shop they are renovating. I am super excited to check it out when it is finished, and I CANNOT wait to make my way back out to Windrock.
If you'd like to learn more about some of the amazing riding Tennessee has to offer, drop a comment down below and I'll be happy to reach out!

It really is! Best downhill I've ridden so far. Will be taking another trip soon and getting some better film.

Would you say it’s intermediate friendly, or is it too gnarly?

I would say it’s an excellent challenge for intermediate riders. There are a couple trails that are flowy and easier to handle, and still fun to ride over and over and find new lines. Definitely ask around or do some research on the trails that are more difficult, because they come up quick lol. All in all, if you have good breaks and can find the berms, you’ll be alright.

@@RealtorMTB How are the surrounding trails? I’m planning a trip with a group of riders with mixed skills and don’t know if Windrock might be great for some of them. The thing is they don’t wanna wait till June for Snowshoe to be open lol

@@ShoneDaddy if you have any beginner-intermediate riders, it would most likely not be fun for them. But if you can make it over to Knoxville, Baker Creek and surrounding trails on the urban wilderness trails are amazing and have something for every rider. I’d love to show you around if needed

You'd be amazed at how hard it was back in the days of zero catch berms 😂
