I love the fact that you put as much emphasize on life skills as "book learning". I think it's really missing in our kid's educations and you do a great job.
When I was in school we had home ec and other classes that taught skills like cooking, sadly people are no so focused on book smarts that kids lack basic skills

I’m 68 years old and cookbooks were always a source of education. When I was younger and my penmanship was poor, summertime was spent coping daily out of a cookbook. I slowly improved my penmanship, did some reading and had a journal with my favorite recipes by the end of summer. I used recipes with my kids for reading and math. Doubling and tripling amounts or even cutting recipes down was wonderful for fractions. So very well done Maria and Peter.

How fun! It is so important for kids to learn these life lessons. I am teaching my granddaughter to bake. She was making cookies and I looked over at her and instead of measuring 1/4 tsp of nutmeg she had 1/4 cup ready to pour in. My heart skipped a beat. Lol
I know I am watching this way in the future, but I like going back and watching the videos that I missed! I just wanted to give a powdered sugar tip. Instead of a fork with your sifting, I use a whisk. Just circle it around and it's way easier and quick!
it doesn't take much cornstarch - you are looking at one or two tablespoons. It also works with your home dried powder spices. If you had an old style sifter it would help break up the lumps (the squeeze the handle and it spins blades in the bottom of the sifter), It is so nice to see kids that are interested in learning to cook. And for fun who can tie a knot in a cherry stem just using your teeth and tongue?
That is awesome you just roll with the cost when they want to learn and have an experience. There is nothing to laugh about that, have experience in the kitchen is so valuable worth the cost!
sugar and corn startch makes powdered sugar putting soda cracker in container helps it from becoming a brick you can also put it in a blender to make to fluffy again

Fantastic welding Sam, very tight and precise. As good as some seasoned welders I have seen.But then look at who your teacher is. Jennifer your wonderful teaching skills show in all of your children, your patience is amazing!!! Maria your cupcakes are beautiful, I used to make and sell cakes. I took cake decorating classes and I used Duncan Hines cake mix and added instant pudding, the recipe used to be on the side of the box. That was the secret recipe we used. Maria if you ever need the complete recipe you can have Mom Google Duncan Hines cake recipes. The last really big cake I made was a 5 tier wedding cake with over 200 white roses. Peter your guacamole looked delicious, but all of your dishes look great as well. I love watching Joe work with Mom in the kitchen, he does a great Job also. Sam not only are you a great welder but you are a fantastic musician and singer and every time I get to hear a little snippet, you continue to just get better and better. What a PRECIOUS FAMILY !!! The guacamole Peter made is actually American style … traditional guacamole is so much simpler … just smashed avocados… garlic salt and lemon juice to taste …however, you do need a lot more avocados than 2😀

The cupcakes and guacamole looked amazing...great job, Maria and Peter! Our kids school used to do a live stations of the cross on the altar...they stopped doing it a while back. Our oldest son was Jesus on year and he was so excited until he found out he would be up there with no shirt on..he did great though!I hadn't thought about that for years!

There is a Chips in Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids and Merrill. My husband and I had our first date at the one in Merrill. They are just a local chain and at one time they had two locations in Wausau, but they are long since gone. Thanks for another great video! Hope you all have a blessed day 💕

Chicken has been so difficult to come by here locally for a while! My family prefers white meat and the only thing that’s been available to us is drumsticks and occasionally thighs. I agree on the oyster crackers. The new version is definitely better!

Have you ever tried the lock n lock brand containers on WVC? They keep all the air out I put my sugars and flour in them and it never gets lumps. They have large and different size containers. Might be something you can try. Thanks for sharing 😍🌷
