That's about the best Lazy J demo I've heard! That's exactly how that pedal needs to be played.. Great style, man. That's a marriage of a player and his rig. For this video, I will buy me one... Thanks
Hey Daniel, Your demos are the reason I ordered a Lazy J 20 amp. Most demos just show how much overdrive one can get out of a rig. I like appreciate the clean tones .
HI Johhny. I was using the amps' reverb. Its an option in the J20 and done as a module in the back, but the cOOLEST thing is that the footswitch also has a reverb dial on it so you can control it right from your pedalboard ;)
Hi Daniel, thanks for responding to my question about your Tele on another vid. I have another question for you if I may?... I'm a fellow Lazy J20 user and am thinking of dropping the coin on a Cruiser Deuce... since this video was made a few years ago, do you still feel just as strongly about this pedal, or has something else replaced it on your board? Cheers mate, Alex :)
Can you say this still in 2020 Dan? You are Aussie ex pat yeah? Great playin here man 1:48 is just gorgeous.. I listen to a few seconds of another demo of Lazy J Cruiser before this and the guys clean through a Deluxe was horrible before the pedal came on so I didn't bother persisting here. I then proceed here and heard your gorgeous starting tone... gotta start with a good clean first or why bother?
Superb tones there Daniel. I have the J20 and the single cruiser and have put up some demos with Les Pauls, Les Paul Specials and Strat's, they all sound amazing, truly inspiring bits of kit. I know were your coming from with your comment about the cruiser sounding like a fuzz, i said the same thing when i first heard mine. Best amps in the world and the best overdrive pedal in the world..
🤘👍🏿 Dan, this is obviously a video now from a galaxy far far away but what are your current thoughts on best pedals to use with tweed amps? Still boosts and ODs? How about types of fuzz?
All depends on how you’re running your amp. If the amp is breaking up then boosts are great at increasing the gain. If the skip is cleaner a good boost can give you more volume and grit
Man I know the Lazy j 20 can be driven into screaming territory , I am just as impressed with the cleans though. The Lazy J 20 would be perfect for my solo act .
Hi Daniel, THANK YOU!. Because of you I now own a Lazy J20 and a Cruiser and I have to say my life's drastically improved :-). Thinking about getting J40 as well - do you have any experience with the J40 and if so, what is the main differences?
The amp is outstanding and the pedal is too. Tell us what tubes do you use? Did you go for NOS vintage tubes? What circuitry is the amp developed from? Thanks.
Hi Daniel, I'm ordering an LJ20 now thanks to hearing you playing it all the time on That Immensely Entertaining & Educational Pedal Show (just love it). May I ask what you think about the reverb and trem in the LJ20 (if you have them) - not sure if I should get them, can't find any info about them.
Thanks Daniel. Sorry to be a pain. If pushed at volume though I presume you could get a good degree of clean up through judicious use of the guitars volume control?
Love the tonality, but there is so much compression in the recording it's difficult to tell one overdrive mode from another. It all sounds smooth, including the un-affected begining licks. Probably the camera you're using is adding it, but defeating the compression would help the demo be more useful.
It has a dingle gone control, and it's sell you need. It makes it so easy to fail in the sound. Aldo the two volume controls are very interactive so I plug into the bright channel but if I need a tad more low end I turn up the normal volume control and it adds a bit of girth.
its great, really thickens up the tone, and if you're driving the vox hard, it drives it beautifully
Lazy J Cruiser Deuce is incredibly transparent and extremely versatile.
That's about the best Lazy J demo I've heard! That's exactly how that pedal needs to be played.. Great style, man. That's a marriage of a player and his rig. For this video, I will buy me one... Thanks

LOVE IT! the amp sounds absolutely stunning, so is the OD, good job
works really well into voxy amps, but the way it interfaces with the LazyJ is glorious to my ears.
That´s a killer tone, the overdrive kicks ass, but I mostly loved that twangy clean tone!
HI mate. Nope, it has a gentle buffer, but its voiced so well. its definatley one of my fav OD's ever
I'm keeping my single for a smaller board, but the double is a must, such a great pedal ;)

Mark from Ox4 here.. sounds fantastic man! Love your playing feel mate!!
glad you dig it. thanks for watching ;)
That amp sounds amazing. I'm just now hearing about Lazy J amps.
It is the best amp i've ever played, i'm so connected with this thing, if I never played another amp in my life, I wouldn't care. ;)

Bet he could still. Cheers.
It's 2023 - still favorite even today?
Some of your phrasing is Derreck Trucks like.. very nice playing. Killer overdrive and amp interaction too.
That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Thank you :)
That clean tone at the beginning is mind boggling. I really wish I could find a used one in the US. I'd drop my Twin in a heartbeat to get it.
Love the playing and tone with the pedal off!
Whilst I'm sure the amp is incredible, that playing through any clean tube amp would sound amazing
Philip White ah, thans Philip, glad you like it ;)

yeah, its pretty special. Thanks for watching ;)
Thanks Martin, glad you like it ;)
Wonderful tone
Phenomenal sound! Inspired
Beautiful playing 😊
Hi. I use full volume 99% of the time, but i sometimes just back it off a hair to clean things up a tad ;)
You really know how to make a Tele roar!
ah, cheers, thanks matey. New demo showing your fantastic pickups coming up soon ;)
Lovely demo and you have a very nice vibrato.

It's 2024 and I am going to have to have the pedal and the amp
sounds incredible dan!
Man I know the Lazy j 20 can be driven into screaming territory , I am just as impressed with the cleans though. The Lazy J 20 would be perfect for my solo act .
Hi. Yes, I have reverb and attenuator.
i want these this is probably the best sound if heard in a long long time AMP & PEDAL = LOVE how much would this cost for the pair?
Hi Daniel, THANK YOU!. Because of you I now own a Lazy J20 and a Cruiser and I have to say my life's drastically improved :-). Thinking about getting J40 as well - do you have any experience with the J40 and if so, what is the main differences?
How far on your videos have come Dan. Pedal show and quality of vids is great.
Cool. Been wanting to hear more about this.
The amp is outstanding and the pedal is too. Tell us what tubes do you use? Did you go for NOS vintage tubes? What circuitry is the amp developed from? Thanks.
Sound great as always Daniel:)
damn, that sounds sweet!

+Hot Rats don't have the trem but the reverb is divine :)
thanks mate, such a great pedal. too much fun ;)
Love this - definitely one of my favourite gear demos on UA-cam! Does your J20 have the Celestion Blue or the Tayden Ace speaker?
Ah, cheers mate. Celestion blue all the way :)
Thanks Doug ;)
agreed 100%, really wonderful stuff. ;)
Hi Daniel, nice boost pedal & your tone remained transparent. On your guitar, did you have your volume flat out or did you roll some off?.
Sounds great. I love my Tweed Deluxe for all of the same reasons. Sounds like a great pedal for tweeds. What reverb where you using on this?
Thanks matey ;)
there are some tricks for me to practice... bending DOWN whole notes now...
Can anyone share the price for a Lazy J20? I see no price ranges on their website. I do see one for sale somewhere for $3,200 used!
Hi Daniel, can you tell me what your amp settings are or were in this demo?
Gonna have to try one Dan...now, just got sell a couple of things! :-)
Dan does it add much apparent brightness? Gotta admit I'm a bit scared of not having a tone control :-)
what are the tabs for the beginning riff? it sounds amazing...
Hi Daniel, would you say the J20 has enough clean headroom to compete with a drummer?
You can get a high powered version, but this amp does compress and crunch, its part of its character. Its more than loud enough for a drummer :)
Thanks Daniel. Sorry to be a pain. If pushed at volume though I presume you could get a good degree of clean up through judicious use of the guitars volume control?
Martin Allcock no probs, yeah, exactly what I do, sounds incredible
Thank you.
Oh can't remember if I asked what it's like through Voxy stuff?
Love the tonality, but there is so much compression in the recording it's difficult to tell one overdrive mode from another. It all sounds smooth, including the un-affected begining licks. Probably the camera you're using is adding it, but defeating the compression would help the demo be more useful.
Does yours have any of the options? Reverb, tremolo and attenuator?
How do these work into a Voxy circuit Dan?
You don't miss having a tone control with it Dan? It doesn't seem to add any ugly top end...
It has a dingle gone control, and it's sell you need. It makes it so easy to fail in the sound. Aldo the two volume controls are very interactive so I plug into the bright channel but if I need a tad more low end I turn up the normal volume control and it adds a bit of girth.
Daniel TheGigRig I meant the Cruiser Dan...
Realfi sorry, what a numpty :) no, its the only one i don't miss having a tone control. its voiced just perfectly :)
£2.5K GBP..worth every penny 8-)
The cleans are superb but the buzzy quality and lack of dynamics in that drive is horrid.
