I ordered the refurbished M1 14 pro and the 15 air both spec’d to 16/512, the 14 pro cost about $100 less. I’m having a hard time deciding which one to keep as I’m just a casual user and the I think the added performance of the pro would be wasted on me. It comes down to my preference for a bigger screen. I’ve seen them side by side at the Apple Store and the only difference I’ve noticed is the Pro’s brighter display and a little bit better sound quality. I just think I would miss that bigger display that the air has. A really difficult decision. Thanks for your review.
That's an interesting point of view - if bigger screen is your thing Air 15 would be better and thinner. Specifically if you don't need all the performance of 14pro. On the other hand the main bummer in case of air 15 is passive cooling so be careful if you want to do some gaming.
Jestem w trakcie podejmowania decyzji odnośnie tego sprzętu, świetny film! Mam pytanie co do After Effects - 16 gb ram poradzi sobie ze średniozaawansowanymi animacjami czy lepiej dopłacić do 32 gb?
Hi, tkanks for this video. I am thinking about upgrade from 2015 MacBook Pro to edit photos and weddings video. What are the specs of you model? How much RAM do you recomend? Best regards from Poland :) Łukasz
Interesting considerations. However I made a different choice. I found the NEW base M2 pro for €200 more than the refurbished m1 pro 8-core and the same price of 10-core (a bargain!). I was coming from an intel 2017, so I had to choose between m1 pro and m2 pro. I was initially influenced by the various negative reviews, then I realized that which made no sense to me. The slower SSD compared to the previous model is not a tragedy, both because it is still very fast and responsive, and because the faster speed of the previous model would ONLY be noticed if you transferring a very huge amounts of data to an external SSD (or from an external SSD) that is faster than the internal SSD... which NEVER happens! On the other hand, performances has definitely improved. I did a final cut export test using m1 pro 14" 10 core and m2 14" 10 core. One hour and 36 minutes of video, 4K prores: masks and various effects applied (filmconvert, luts...). Export completed about 40 minutes with m1 pro (very good result) and 26 minutes with m2 pro (amazing result)! Honestly, I don't know why this huge difference, but this was the result (maybe they improved the performance of the m2 chip even more with the updates?). For me nothing else is needed, 14 m2 pro base was my choice. Obviously if I had to choose between m1 pro 8-core and m1-pro 10-core I would choose the base model, because the performance differences in what I need is not at all evident and the price is lower.
@@JacekSopotnicki I'm afraid this information may not be useful to you my friend... in Europe. I bought it in Italy, new for 500€ less than Apple site.

Przyznam, że mało siedzę w AE, bardziej we fusion w Resolve i średniozaawansowane efekty 16gb wymiata :)

16 giga ramu, podstawowy model, w zupełności daje radę. Cheers From Portugal :)
