  • In this video I research what the current prices of GT-R's are in 2023. I used websites such as CarGuru, Cars.com, and KBB to determine current values. I also discuss the impact of Age and Mileage, as well as single ownership and modifications.

    1st class analysis D. Keep up the great work on your GT-R vids! I am deciding between 2 one-owner cars with about 20,000 miles on each of them A nicely modified ($25K invested) 2013 BE and a bone stock 2016. The 2013 is $68K USD and the 2016 is $84K USD. Your stats come pretty close but then the mods confound the value...somewhat. With the help of your analysis, I am ready to pull the trigger on the BE, after some vigorous negotiation, of course.

Thanks for doing this legwork on our cars, I do see them as an investment and although the FB groups like to troll everyone's asking prices, it does look like they're on the rise. I Agree. I was considering selling mine. After doing this video and doing more research, I feel that this car is only going to appreciate in 5-10 years as everything moves to electric. Especially given the low volume of R35's that have been sold, it will surely be a collectors item.

    Nice investigation! I bought a MY15 GTR Black Edition end of 2016, first permitted for drive in 2016, drove it roughly 7 thousand miles till today and still very happy with it. Slightly modified by a reputable tuner in Europe. When the car was new I paid 100 thousand euros for it. That´s very close to what I can get for it today! Despite the fact I don´t drive it that much, cause I wanna keep it for the rest of my live, I would never sell it, no matter if the value would turn up or down.

And if you do the fluid changes yourself, their really not that costly to maintain. I did have to change out the timing chain at a little over 100K, so now they typically go out around there, but other than that.. it's all good. Good luck buddy !!

There really hasn't been anything close to a GT-R in regards to it's rawness, and acceleration. And with everything going electric.. it for sure will be a collectors item !!

    - "You can pick up a used one for a reasonable price"
    ----> if paying $30K more than what they used to cost in 2019 is reasonable, then you're right. I sold my in '19, it was a '14 BE w/FBOe85 for $65K, now the same car costs $90K+
    - "GTRs tend to hold their value very well.."
    ----> 2019 was the year to get GTRs; they were cheap. I passed a deal at Glendale Nissan for a brand new GTR for $94K OTD!; same year I sold my BE when the market was low. So, I'd say, it depends on how the market is doing and it goes up and down.
    - "I did my research..."
    ----> I've been tracking the GT-R market since '19, and I can personally tell you that ever since the prices have gone up, the GT-R you see on these used cars (and sometime new GT-Rs) they stay in the lot for many months, sometimes years before they sell. Dealers are holding onto these cars like if they are the last Coke in the desert. Unfortunately, it makes consumers like myself to look some place else for a better option. ENTER STAGE LEFT the "BMW M4XD COMPETITION" for less than a GTR with more amenities, more room and a 0-60 that is incredible!
    - Porsches are multiple owner car as well, but are rarely modified.
    Bottom line: Great analysis.!

      I guess my point, and as a prior GTR owner... The car had its era. Now is way, way over rated and over priced for the under performance that it provides in stock form. Even for a brand new 2024 Premium going against the likes of M4CxD, it will get its rear end handed to it. I also had one of those beemers and its 8gear transmission puts the GTR's 6 speed DCT to shame.

    • @The.Garage.Studio
      @The.Garage.Studio  Рік тому

      All good points. This is a mystique about the GT-R though. And as you mentioned.. getting FBE is not too expensive, and it will outperform most others. There also that unmistaken mechanical feel of the GT-R that is well.. addictive. The GT-R's over the last half year have been dropping in price quite a bit. Now is not a bad time to try and get one.
