Thank you for reminding me of a great time while I was in stephenville a couple of years ago. I went to or went past so many of the places that you passed along the way. Looking forward to getting back there one day.
Nice video, I see they removed the guard shack going onto the old base, I worked it for the last 6 to 8 months that the base was opened and lived in the barracks across from the theater and later on in the red brick barracks until leaving on December the 5th 1966 . Married Adam Bourgeois youngest daughter Linda and come this Jan. 7th we will be married 54 years, again the video brings back a lot of memories.
my dad was actually born and raised in Stephenville and probably within the next 8-10 years I plan on moving there myself along with my girlfriend. Both of us are from Ontario and its getting ridiculously expensive here, plus my hometown Barrie which is about a 45 minute drive to Toronto has been receiving people wanting to leave Toronto and they're moving up to Barrie for a cheaper place to live which is causing more traffic and construction. My girlfriends family left Toronto and moved here for a quieter place to live now its getting just as busy plus I never planned on staying here so were gonna save up to make the move to Newfoundland for an escape from the busy cities
