      My late father and I installed 8 foot typical woven wire spring through fall 1965. I was 9 years old. Every month 2 rolls were delivered to ease the $$ hit. It is still serving the purpose. Even after some straightening in places. Ironic back then zoo
      lion dung was used as a repellent. Now our came cameras in past month have captured 4 different cats ....and NO DEER anymore

    Bekaert always comes up with the best fence solutions, I don't believe any deer can jump that fence , even with a running start! Great job on the gates too!! May need a little bracing as time goes by, but works. For sort term at least. Greens in the high tunnel coming along well.

    Now, if ever a deer manages to jump over THAT fence, I hope you have a game cam on it because I want to see THAT particular deer! 😹🤣😂😸😅

    In Ohio we hang up bars of Irish spring soap! It helps mess up there sense of smell. You have to replace them when there sent dissipates but it takes a while! Drill a hole in the middle of the soap and hang a bar ever 10 ft in the middle hight of the fence it does help! The national park service uses it too!

    Several years ago I had a deer in my garden. I was talking to a lady and she told me to sprinkle some used kitty litter, remove the poo and pee, around my garden. I tried it and it worked.

    • @xyzsame4081
      @xyzsame4081 3 роки тому

      They say that dog poo and pee makes them wary - as it should, they are the predators (wolves, coyotes) that used to hunt them.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong. I just recently heard that deer are better at jumping up but not so good at width. These people just put up 2 fences 6 feet apart. They kept chickens in the "moat" between fences.

    • @BekaertFencing
      @BekaertFencing 3 роки тому

      This is correct. A deer's depth perception is very lacking. So we recommend going high or deep with a "3D" fence.
