Some clarifications: -Yuji didn't hit him twice but it was the effect of his divergent fist (as showed in S1) -Not sure if you noticed this but you didn't mention it during the reaction but Todo essentially faked a boogie woogie on Mahito making him think that he'd appear behind him, giving Itadori the perfect chance for a point blank black flash
yup, and to add to this and answer another question, Todo DOES need to physically clap in order to activate his technique. Just because he claps doesn’t mean he’s using it, but he NEEDS to clap to use it. The last episode was just an error they made, but I’ll never complain about any of the animation lol.
It's a shame the narrator's sentence wasn't included saying that Yuji mastered the Divergent Fist in his fight against Choso, for those who read the manga this isn't a problem, but for people from the anime they will need to make an effort to understand what happened
In a sense, Itadori has fallen into darkness. Mahito is definitely the one who changed Itadori's personality darkly. Mahito couldn't have imagined that Itadori would become like that.
while it´s true that since this moment (and the whole shibuya arc) itadori doesn´t think highly of himself at all, this is not itadori becoming a worse person, he just mattured, losing to choso because of his lack of conviction is what started it all and it kept going on during his fight with mahito, it´s only in this moment yuji realized what he must do if he really wants to save everyone he cares for, he can´t keep trying to save people while maintaining his moral "rules" untouched, he must work as the cog he is and in his eyes that is dying to take sukuna with him, we will see what happens in the manga though since this can go both ways with itadori sinking deeper into this mentality or with him finding another purpose for himself

In the Oficial JJK fanbook it’s stated that the only ritual condition it’s to clap ( either Todou own hands or 1 todou hand and another to make the clap) he lost it of real with the last clap with mahitos hand .

It totally makes sense, mahito had another growing to touch todo plus the transfigured human sword already had idle transfiguration applied to it so he ain't touching him directly hence why he didn't get his hand transfigured. But sure if you think that's an error all the power to you...now a real error was when yuji was fighting the 20% main body mahito, they had his clothes on when he clearly left the other 80% body that had the clothes, and then next shot they corrected it.

22:44 Clapping with hands is a requirement to use his technique. This episode confirms it as he can no longer use the technique by himself, however he did show that he can use somebody else's hand to activate the technique, so there is still hope. The scene in the last episode was probably a mistake, and they may have just forgotten to add the scene of him clapping.

I just love this and the previous episodes. Sukuna looking with that malicious stare at Mahito was just peak. Takada chan's sequence lol, gotta love Todo's imagination... The silence with just the howling of the wind in a snowscape; the depiction of Yuji as the alpha of his pack with the scar: he's not a lone wolf...he's got allies...🥹 I just love the animators...and your review Michael

I LOVE Mahito's voice actor, I've only seen one other major role of his, Nagi from Blue Lock, and if you know that character you'd see why I'm blown away by his voice acting, the difference between the two is unbelievable.
The manga clarifies the bit at 16:01 more with narration but it's Divergent Fist. Basically, Divergent Fist started as a bad habit that happened with Yuji, if you remember season 1 it was said that Yuji's cursed energy lagged behind his physical attacks creating a double impact which was Divergent Fist. However, as he improved his control of cursed energy, he lost the technique since his cursed energy didn't lag anymore, but since his fight with Choso, he's been able to control Divergent Fist. As many comments have said, what Todo did was a fake-out and yes he needs to clap his hands. What's being referenced to with the Hanami fight is when Todo said that clapping his hands doesn't mean he's using his technique, it could just be a normal clap, he's not saying he doesn't need to clap his hands, idk what people are talking about. Now Todo doesn't need to clap with both of his hands as we see in this episode he can use another person's hand to activate Boogie Woogie. The bit last episode was anime-original so the animators could've just messed up or maybe he clapped too fast for us to see, probably just an error though.

It was an insane end for Mahito, the incarnation of humanity's hatred and fear of one another, who felt complete fear towards Yuji. Yuji used Black Flash with maximum cursed energy, the feat alone was something said to be impossible for Gojo, which speaks volumes for his potential. And it has still been wild, Yuji did all this stuff without a Cursed Technique.
Mahito's transformation animated was so fire and he was such a goated villain! "I am you" Yuji is HIM!! Todo is HIM as well!! Mahito is literally a baby curse, so of course he will start throwing a tantrum and crying when he finally experiences the consequences of his action as he's like 6-8 months old, MichaelAngelo.
Also I just LOVE when we see Todo’s imagination in the jumping you see his left hand twitching violently as if he is in seering pain punching with just that left wrist Such a good ep
This maybe, one of, if not the best pieces of media Ive ever seen. I couldn't stop screaming and replaying moments. I was standing almost the entire time and my lunch got cold cuz I was too focused on the episode. I legit have to force myself to not keep rewatching it so I can get actual things done and yet I keep sneaking in small clips and moments because I legit cant stop. Mahito is a Curse born from the dark essence of Humanity Yuji was a Human who has to abandon his mortality to fully become a Special Grade Sorcerer. This was so character defining for literally both characters and that's why its my favorite fight in JJK

Just to clarify, Todo's Boogie Woogie was dead, it got killed by Idle Transfiguration when he clapped Mahito's hand, that last clap with his stump was a fake to get Mahito to turn around, allowing Itadori to land the perfect Black Flash.
Gotta say this was one of my favorite episodes and Manga panels of Jjk, pretty sad that this season is going to end soon. Absolutely love your reactions, it's like watching shows and playing games with a buddy, which for a busy college student, it's great. Michael, if you ever do read this comment, I kinda wanna recommend Record of Ragnarok to you. It's a Netflix anime, with 3 parts of 2 seasons, whether you watch it or react to it with us is all good, but if you have time and the access to it, it is a very fire action anime.

This anime episode cut out a lot of the characters internal dialogue unfortunately. But Yuji used a technique called divergent fist which is why it looked like Mahito got hit twice.
I have a theory, it sounds very simple, but it sounds possible: If other sorcerers/curses have a deeper understanding of their techniques after hitting a Black Flash, maybe Yuji's Black Flashes gives him a deeper understanding about Black Flash itself, tot he point where Yuji can "use Black Flash on his will".
Todo didnt do boogie woogie with the stump, it was a distraction. Mahito literally said "i didnt switch places?", then Todo said unfortunately his boogie woogie was already dead.
The metaphor with the wolves hunting the bunnies in a cold terrain was 🔥 and i felt like the cheek wound resembled sukuna kind of showing how he's become a menace now turning dark
yo michael. Itadori didn't hit him twice, he just used the "divergent fist" of the first season. It's his "special" move that after the first ounch, the cursed energy come right after giving off a second blow, he used it against mahito at the highschool when junpei died. So yeah that's the meaning of the time lag. He probably used the divergent fist unintentionally since he was trying to punch him with a black flash
Some clarifications but i think others answered in the comments alredy but imma leave the answer aswell :)). The time lag was from his divergent fist that hits 2 times, and todo cant use his tehnique without clapping his hands thats why he clapped with mahito hand and in the end he did not use boogie woogie he just did that to fake mahito so Itadori could get a perfect chance to hit that final black flash. In conclusion Todo and Itadori duo is the best.
i think we should quit ahead and stop wondering/asking which JJK episode is the best. we have been blessed with peak since the very beginning. the only negative thing about JJK (the anime) is that we only have 2 episodes left.
(Sry about the Yappathon) *"You are me"* alot of people don't seem to understand what this line is supposed to signify. It basically means from a moral standpoint, Itadori and Mahito are same. Itadori saves people without a second thought, Mahito kills them without any. Mahito doesn't care about the humans he's killed cause they're insignificant to him, and neither does Yuji about the curses he's exorcised. Only when met with dilemmas like transfigured or possessed humans does Yuji falter. If u think about it, its the same situation as Sukuna and Gojo. Both do what they do for one reason, because they can. They are the only ones who truly understand how lonely being at the top is. They are the only ones who can sympathize with each other despite being enemies.

It easy to forget that Mahito is a very young curse . Mahito thought he was Gojo and did a .2 sec Domain Expansion... he found out, thanks to Yuji, he couldn't handle the aftereffects.
My boi Todo a true one to the very end. His technique may be gone now, but he will forever be *OUR BESTO FRIENDO!!!!* Fun fact: Itadori is the only sorcerer in history who has ever used a black flash on command. And FYI, Mahito in his true from is most likely the strongest Disaster curse. Normally its Jogo. But Mahito was only born a few months ago. And it makes sense that he's the strongest because the only thing humans fear more than the nature, is themselves. and Mahito is born from that hate and fear. He has the potential to be strongest cursed spirit in the series(without counting Vengeful spirits like Rika).
No, Todo HAS to clap with his hands in order to switch. Since Mahito deals direct soul damage, reverse curse technique can not heal it. So Todo's technique like he said, is truly dead. His hand can't come back and Todo waa simply bluffing at he end
The next episode is gonna be wild . We will get a lot of interesting informations and the plot will move a step further giving us an idea of what the next arc is gonna be about . Unexpected things gonna happen in the future episodes of shibuya arc .
I don't know why it took me so long to notice. But Gojo made Yuji a jujutsu sorcerer uniform with a red hood attached and man does it actually remind me of a black flash. Not just that, but itadori's hair is almost the same. It could be a mere coincidence, but just something I noticed.
The last episode was very weird because it wasn't in the manga so we really dont know what happened when todo clapped there. This episode though, when todo clapped with only 1 arm it was a fake clap. He gave mahito that speech to make mahito think that he would switch with him, thats why mahito looked away from itadori for one second. And that second gave itadori the chance to black flash and finish mahito while mahito got distracted. Also when he says my boogie woogie is dead, he really means his cursed technique is gone.

Just to clarify, Todo's Boogie Woogie was dead, it got killed by Idle Transfiguration when he clapped Mahito's hand, that last clap with his stump was a fake to get Mahito to turn around, allowing Itadori to land the perfect Black Flash.

This anime episode cut out a lot of the characters internal dialogue unfortunately. But Yuji used a technique called divergent fist which is why it looked like Mahito got hit twice.

yo michael. Itadori didn't hit him twice, he just used the "divergent fist" of the first season. It's his "special" move that after the first ounch, the cursed energy come right after giving off a second blow, he used it against mahito at the highschool when junpei died. So yeah that's the meaning of the time lag. He probably used the divergent fist unintentionally since he was trying to punch him with a black flash

Some clarifications but i think others answered in the comments alredy but imma leave the answer aswell :)). The time lag was from his divergent fist that hits 2 times, and todo cant use his tehnique without clapping his hands thats why he clapped with mahito hand and in the end he did not use boogie woogie he just did that to fake mahito so Itadori could get a perfect chance to hit that final black flash. In conclusion Todo and Itadori duo is the best.
i think we should quit ahead and stop wondering/asking which JJK episode is the best. we have been blessed with peak since the very beginning. the only negative thing about JJK (the anime) is that we only have 2 episodes left.

It basically means from a moral standpoint, Itadori and Mahito are same.
Itadori saves people without a second thought, Mahito kills them without any. Mahito doesn't care about the humans he's killed cause they're insignificant to him, and neither does Yuji about the curses he's exorcised. Only when met with dilemmas like transfigured or possessed humans does Yuji falter.
If u think about it, its the same situation as Sukuna and Gojo. Both do what they do for one reason, because they can. They are the only ones who truly understand how lonely being at the top is. They are the only ones who can sympathize with each other despite being enemies.

The last episode was very weird because it wasn't in the manga so we really dont know what happened when todo clapped there. This episode though, when todo clapped with only 1 arm it was a fake clap. He gave mahito that speech to make mahito think that he would switch with him, thats why mahito looked away from itadori for one second. And that second gave itadori the chance to black flash and finish mahito while mahito got distracted. Also when he says my boogie woogie is dead, he really means his cursed technique is gone.
