Watching you throw your hands up in confusion, giving up on the weapon, and then just pimp smacking your opponent was the best thing I've ever seen someone do in this game.

Also, there's this one mode I found that enhances the enemy, makes their cooldown for attacks shorter and are a bit tricky at first

I tried a mod but it just made them overly aggressive and in your face which was fine for the sword and shield but not for other things

@@Apperceptive_Swordsman Was it Enhanced Difficulty or some other mod? Also Soviet's Extra Effects is good for a little quality of life

There is a 1v1 mode where you can do melee only. Its also good for training. Also I get enemies with long swords so it might just be that your using training mode.

1v1 melee only is what i use with the mods. i wouldnt be surprised if i havent noticed the longswords because they would be used in one hand in the game, which isnt very useful

If you have the ability to, I suggest increasing your FoV

the camera angle is a bit uncomfortable, it's zoomed in too much in my opinion

How does it work exactly? You said that your weapons collide and react to each other properly, including the crossguards. But in real life you are just holding a controller. If you swing your arm, colliding with your opponent's blade isn't going to stop the momentum of your swing. I really don't understand this.

Even if you continue to move your controller, the weapon on the screen will stop when it makes contact with something.

You can just keep moving your controller, but the sword won't keep moving, and trying to push through a bind usually just results in you dropping your sword.
As you play and begin to become more attuned to the way it plays, you hold your controller in the fashion of a sword, you start to move correctly, because if you keep just flailing your controller around, your strikes don't land properly and nothing really hits. There is a sort of artificial weight to the weapons that makes you play by the games rules, and while you might feel that would be frustrating at first, the limitation makes you work with the system, you start to play like a real swordsman, and that's when the game really works.
At least until you start playing with the magic system and throw the HEMA out the window for a while in the name of force choking someone for their lack of faith.
