@@rosemarywoolley8394 I think that might depend on the situation and the character of the person. It can be difficult for a person to get a word in when trying to have a conversation with others who may have very strong characters. I have personal experience of this.

Whereas "Taking the biscuit" is the total opposite.

Emma was the star of the show. Mike and Kevin knew it and were intent on competing for her attention. Frankly, I don't blame them.

@@catwoman7462 I remember a few years ago a murderer appealing against his 300 year sentence and the appeal judge agreed it was excessive and reduced it to.......200 years.

Not sure I agree about the Christian Eriksen argument. As difficult as it is to watch, I feel like the reason people in our society are so fragile and anxious about life is because of the lack of exposure to our mortality. If we censor everything bad that happens to us, we won't be able to cope with it when it's someone we know in our own lives.

When Ayrton Senna was killed in 1994 at San Marino the BBC cut away from the RAI feed to their single BBC operated camera that was located in the pit lane immediately it became apparent that something was seriously wrong while Murray Walker handled the situation single handed like the absolute professional that he was, so even back neatly 30 years ago the BBC had protocols for potentially fatal situations in live broadcasts and even as recently as two years ago ITV cut away from Billy Mongers crash as soon as that was obvious what was going on - so whoever made the decision to continue the coverage of the football player should be sacked, simple as.

Mike, you dismiss the possibility of having to get another vaccination next year. What about the flu? We have different vaccines each year because of the different prevalent strains expected. And these are yearly things. Before COVID tens of thousands died each year because of flu. There was gnashing of teeth about the NHS being overwhelmed each year because of the flu.
