Hope the methods help! For me the sticky traps helped most, plus frequent vacuuming the gnats walking on the sides of the pots (very careful not to vacuum the plant!).
This was very helpful information. Thank you! I wish I had seen this before when I was at war with fungus gnats! I finally got rid of them by using colloidal silver mixed in with the water and covering the top of the soil with sand, (I didn’t know it should have been an inch deep) and yellow sticky traps. It took 7 months to get rid of them all. They came in the potting soil and I had repotted so many of my plants! It was a nightmare. I almost threw them all away! I’m going to get mosquito dunks and treat every bag of soil I use before I plant or transplant anything for the rest of my life!
@msgreenjeans5733 I never got them before with new soil, this year was the first time and it was good brand, good soil... And I'm hearing so many people have this problem this year that it's surprising, at least. Glad you found the solution and saved your plants! This is what is fascinating about gardening - experimenting and figuring things out :)
Thank you! I'm new to indoor plants. The gnats have been a problem. Thank you for the great tips!
