Proverbs 30 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
1 The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spoke unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal:
2 Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.
3 I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.
4 Who hath ascended up into heaven or hath descended? Who hath gathered the wind in His fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if thou canst tell?
5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
6 Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee and thou be found a liar.
as you can see the Tanah tell us that GOD has a SON
Psalm 2 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people devise a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds asunder, and cast away Their cords from us.”
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure:
6 “Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion.”
7 “I will declare the decree: The Lord hath said unto Me, ‘Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.
8 Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings; be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.

We reject the demi-god model, since it contradicts what our Father spoke to us in His word, saying that besides Him there is no other, he is one. We reject the Greek book because it is riddled with errors, just as we reject the book of mormon and Ron Hubbard's scientology.

Krishna and Jesus both are son of God and born from a virgin.
Basically Christianity is a branch of Hinduism. According to Hinduism, 2 billion gods, goddesses all are branches of one God Brahma. And both are one but not separated. Base on the core formula they claim they worship only one God. Similarly Christians believe there are 3 gods: Father, Son, Holy Spirit all are branches of one God. And they altogether one God but not separated nature. No difference between two. Just one difference is Hindus believe 2 billion in One God. And Xtians believe 3 in one God. Almost same. But the Krishna playing a vital role. Roman stolen the concept of Shiva and begotten the Christianity. Both worship idols and graven images of Krishna=Jesus and his Mother.

So happy I gave it up and can look at everyone with love knowing they are in Ha Shem’s good hands only just like me. Now I can embrace them without this lingering thought that they are destined to be fuel for G-d’s fire without any hope of redemption. Nonetheless the logic of Christian theology requires either Calvinism or Universalism. Thankfully many Christian’s have chosen the latter route.

@Kenneth's - God & Nature: Your comment indicates that you speak from ignorance about Judaism. FYI, once a Jew converts to ANY OTHER religion, he is NO LONGER considered by the Jewish Community, to be a Jew - he has become a pagan. He is, however, welcome at any time, to renounce the false, pagan religion he has attached himself to, confess that sin, repent of that sin (called "teshuva" - return), ask God for His forgiveness, and start observing the Torah as God commanded us. He will then be welcomed back into the Jewish Community with open arms!
PLEASE do some honest research on this subject, and learn from the Rabbis, as commanded by God in Deut. 17:8-11. PLEASE buy yourself a Hebrew Bible (says "TANACH" on the cover), so you can see for yourself what God actually said to us at Mt. Sinai. Also extremely helpful to you would be Rabbi Singer's 2-vol. set of books "Let's Get Biblical - Why Doesn't Judaism Accept the Christian Messiah?" that shows us the vast differences between Judaism and Christianity, and the multitude of ways in which Christianity has raped and bastardized God's original words to us, and "Christianized" them, to make it 'appear' as though the "Jesus" character is prophesied on ever page, which, of course, is blasphemous, and it NOT what God said to us.

I cannot speak to the other poster's entire comment, but to be fair, the position of Christian theology is to present Christ as the culmination of Jewish writing not because we think Jews agree with it, but because we (as Christians) accept Messianic prophecies from the book of Daniel that Judaism rejects.
My point is that Christians understand the repudiation of Daniel by Jews for the same reason we understand the repudiation of Christ by Jews, which according to the most famed Jewish scholar in all of history, the Apostle Paul, was ordained by Hashem until the end of time.

PLEASE, as I mentioned above, buy yourself a Hebrew Bible (says "TANACH" on the cover) - PLEASE, I'm begging you! Nowhere in the original Hebrew scriptures given to us by God at Mt. Sinai, did God ever mention anyone named "Jesus" or "Christ", and nowhere did He ever tell us that we need to be "saved", or that He requires HUMAN blood (a purely pagan ritual that God ABHORS!) as atonement for our sins. It's strange that Paul would say people cannot keep the law, when he seems to say he did keep the law. "In righteousness based on the law I was blameless." Phil 3:6. He also praises the law. Back at my time in Bible college, I was a reformed Christian. Listened to all the popular reformed theologians of the day. Matt Chandler, David Platt, John Piper, R.C. Sproul, James White, Jeff Durbin, etc.
Jacob Arminius believed in a partial depravity, whereas the followers of Calvin believed in a complete depravity. As well, Pelagianism rejects depravity all together and said Adam's sin had no effect on man. I would argue that the Reformed position on Total Depravity is just a little bit different than what you had presented. All Christians agree that no righteous deed can earn salvation, but total depravity takes it a step further and says that man is not capable of repenting or even believing the gospel. Meaning, that an un-regenerated man left to his own doing would never ever choose to worship or follow God. They are "slaves to sin." and that "no one in the flesh can please God."
Arminius believed that mankind is partially depraved. They are unable to choose God on their own, until God "draws" the person to them. Most Christians who don't believe in reformed theology but still hold to a partial idea of depravity says that it is through the power of the gospel that enables unbelievers to repent or have faith. But to the Calvinist, faith itself is a gift. If the Holy Spirit did not regenerate your heart and give you the gift of faith, you would be forever stuck in your sins and never repent even if you heard the gospel day after day.
So I would argue that Total depravity is controversial. At least to the Calvinist. Without total depravity, there is no need for irresistible grace, unconditional election, limited atonement, or perseverance. (Which is why I always joked with people who called themselves, "3 point calvinist.")

I've been watching your videos a lot lately and have found them to be very eye opening. To find out, after so many years of Christianity, that I might not have ever had any good idea of who exactly hashem is has been a tectonic realization for me. I'm still wrestling with what to do with this knowledge.
I present the following in all respect and earnest, mainly because I believe you can give a good answer. These matters are important, and they are questions for which I need answers as I consider the course of what remains of my life.
Firstly, let me point out that I share every bit of the revulsion and disgust that you have toward Calvinist theology. It seems, however, that the problem you've identified here is fundamentally the problem of evil, and is a consequence of the idea of an all-powerful god who created all of us, of whom not all will find our way to him. In short, if god is all powerful, and if he created us all, and if not all of us find our way from damnation, then he is ultimately responsible for those who will be damned. I'm afraid I find very little in what I understand to be Tanakh that can lead away from this understanding. Did god not harden pharaoh's heart? Did the firstborn children of Egypt get a chance at redemption? Indeed, the very idea of a chosen people implies that there are those who were not. It grieves me to be forced to conclude that Calvinism, for all its repugnance, unfortunately does not seem to diverge from these fundamental understandings.
    Help me.
    Thank you.

I don't know if this little key will help ?
The " chosen" is a Christendom interpretation - and wrong -
G.d offered the Holy Torah to all the peoples, but only the Jewish people accepted to take on the task to observe these instructions from the Most High- somehow the xtian church has turned that into "the chosen" which is a misnomer, I guess ' choosers ' would be more accurate.
G.d loves all of his creation, and all of humanity was given the 7 Noachide Motzvot to observe ( before the Torah revealed at Sinai to the b'nei Ysrael and b'nei Noach ).

It might. If we operate under the assumption that I have a lot of post-Christian ideology that's coloring my understanding of scripture. Perhaps you can help with that. When I read Deuteronomy 7: 1-7 (as it appears in the Christian Bible - I looked for a Jewish source on this and couldn't find anything), I read an account of divine selection that is in perfect accord with the ideas in Calvanism - to the point of genocide. Again, however, I'm bringing a lot of personal history to the reading, and I'm reading a passage that has come to me through the filter of translation and of Christian theology (they have been known to change Tenakh to suit their ends.)
Could you expound on that passage, and perhaps help me to arrive at a different interpretation of what I'm reading?

Also in Luke 2:25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
Paul himself said 3 times.. once in acts 25:8 8 Paul argued in his defense, “Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I committed any offense

This reminds me a little of the patrician disciples of Shammai and the problem they had with accepting Noachides, Gerim Toshav, and the doubts they had about the self-loathing Gentiles they converted having a share in the World to Come.
It is taught in a baraita that Rabbi Eliezer says: It is written: “The wicked shall be turned back to the netherworld (sheol, lit. the grave), all the nations that forget God” (Psalms 9:18). “The wicked shall be turned back to the netherworld”; these are the sinners of the Jewish people, as only the sinners are sentenced to the netherworld. “All the gentiles that forget God”; these are the sinners of the gentiles. From the fact that it is written: “All the gentiles,” it is apparent that none of the gentiles have a share in the World-to-Come. This is the statement of Rabbi Eliezer. Rabbi Yehoshua said to him: But is it stated in the verse that the sinners of the Jewish people will be like all of the gentiles? It is stated only: “All the gentiles that forget God.” Rather, the wicked shall be turned back to the netherworld, and who are they? They are all the gentiles that forget God. Gentiles who fear God do have a share in the World-to-Come. Sanhedrin 105a.
      R. Eliezer was a follower of the School of Shammai, and his rulings were always in accordance with their views (Jerusalem Talmud, Betsah 1:4, Shabbat 130b and Tosafists ad loc.).

A person must choose to immerse themselves and a person must choose to walk upright. Proof text that it can be done is in Luke 1:66 And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord. Also says in your writings that Simeon was righteous
Even your Paul claimed to keep the law in his own defense and in acts he had to go to the temple and sacrifice as proof he is in complete observance to the law...
So were the people that were called righteous by obeying the law in your writing just filthy rags.. are they destined for hell even though your writing say they were righteous
what about Romans 2:13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.
1 John 3:4 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
Matt 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matt 13:41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers,

One of the problems with Christianity is that most Christian Sunday sermons are either solely about the New Testament or are Joel Osteen style sermons that have very little to do with either the New or Old Testament. Most of Joel Osteen’s sermons resemble improved motivational speaker Tony Robbins type lectures on how to be successful in life.
Deuteronomy 4:2 basically says not to substitute other Joel Osteen type material for the Old Testament that supports Christianity’s adulterous, idolatrous worship of idols, money & financial success.
The reason the Old Testament is so important is that the Old Testament is more or less a history book of the human race. And if you don’t learn from history, you are doomed to repeat the same mistakes you have made in the past. The main problem with the New Testament is that in terms of a history book, it only goes back to the time of JC. The New Testament just doesn’t cover a very long time period. The Old Testament goes back to creation of the universe and covers a much larger time frame. -

I enjoy these, as a reformed baptist, I watch many of your videos to get a better understand of our roots; I’m 22 and fairly new to reformed theology so I apologize if I do not represent it as fully, election stands as follows:
Romans 9:9-13 displays the argument of election as the method God has chosen, not according to works and it’s according to God’s foreknowledge, Paul demonstrates this by quoting Malachi 1:1-4 (Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated) when it is written “is not Esau, Jacob’s brother?” before they had done any good or bad work, God in his foreknowledge had already elected Jacob
Those who repent/faith in Christ are elected are therefore chosen by God before birth in His foreknowledge and omniscience; Paul writes that the wages of sin is death, separation from God, therefore, is not election and the fact that some are saved and not cast unto death already infinitely more merciful? that there are those who are elect that accept the blood of the Lamb and be saved?

God creates evil people that he may burn them. You cannot manifest justice without having evil and without subjecting that evil to an unendurable punishment. He does it because that is what he likes. Being that he likes it, that makes it good by definition. Those who do not like it also are necessarily evil and are purposed as fire food.
It's really that simple. If God likes it, it is good. If you hate what God likes, you are the lowest kind of evil. You will scream forever, and it will delight all good people.

One of the main sources of Calvin's theology is Paul's quoting of Jacob have I loved but Esau have I hated, which was said before either Esau or Jacob had been born and therefore before either had done anything good or bad. However, Paul also said that if Esau had not sold his birthright Esau would have inherited the blessing. Unlike Calvin, Paul attributed election to God's foreknowledge of what was going to happen. Foreknowledge also explains why why God was content that Philistines remain in the land of Israel, that Canaanites be driven out of the land and that the remembrance of Amalek be blotted out. God foresaw Haman and every other Agagite that would try to destroy Israel. Peter also says God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Also, Luke who is closely associated with Paul as a travel companion and most faithful to Paul during Paul's second more severe imprisonment, said of the parents of John the Baptist that they were righteous before the Lord, walking in all the commandments. Jesus also said he had not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance, which presupposes that there were some righteous people he had not come to call to repentance. Calvin seems to have treated the scriptures as if they are given for making mathematical equations and that you can take a few words skipping here and there and put them together according to a preconceived framework and not come up with something that says more about the man Frankensteining the equations than about God. The things Paul said about the Gentiles in Romans chapter 1 and 2 are not about the Church, but about people who do what is righteous without knowledge of the Scriptures. Paul consistently speaks of three distinct entities, Jews, Gentiles and the Church and warns Christians not to give offense to any of the three. The reason the Paul speaks about election in Romans is primarily to inform Gentiles that Jews are elected because of God's promises to the Patriarchs concerning their nature seed, that God would be their God. Paul says God counted all the Jewish people, with the obvious exception of those like Paul who believe in Jesus, in unbelieve that he might have mercy on all Israel at the resurrection. Paul goes on in the 11 the chapter of Romans to warn those who were formally Gentiles not to boast against the branches, i.e., the Jewish people, who had stumbled, but not for the purpose that they would fall but for the sake of the Gentiles to be saved, though unlike the Jewish people, there is no promise to the Patriarchs to save all Gentiles, but the Gentiles stand only as long as they believe and that shall be counted to them for righteousness, where God will be merciful to the Jews unrighteousness when he opens their graves. There is another problem with total depravity which is that Jesus says that as it was in the days of Noah so will it be in the coming of the son of man. In the days of Noah, every thought of the heart of man was continually evil all the time. If we have gone two thousand years with the Son of man returning then we have not yet come to the point of total depravity of man. I have heard preachers say you have to depend on Paul not Jesus for theology. That is nonsense. Paul distinguishes where he says something he thinks is right concerning marriage from what is said by Jesus, which Paul holds to be superior to his own ideas, even if based on biblical principles rather than by revelation.

The Canaanites had not done it yet, and the measures to prevent the Canaanite from leading Israel astray we're severe. Even more severe was the pronouncement against Amalek. By not completely eliminating Amalek but leaving Agag alive, even for a little while, gave Agag to time to reproduce and thus Haman was born many years later, an Agagite who almost succeeded in killing all of the Jews in the Persian Empire.

I do believe that there is strong evidence has many historians, most of them secular/atheists, that points otherwise to Jesus existing and that he was a Jewish man. I was hoping if you can help me understand who is this messiah that the Jews are waiting on. Apparently there are prophecies in the old testament pointing out of a savior for the Jews. I find Jewish people to be most fascinating and I envy them for various reasons. But mostly that there God has a direct connection to them in the past and arguably still does to this day. Do you suppose that the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament will soon arrive for the Jew or am I misinterpreting scriptures? Thank you

Protestantism/Reformation happened in mid-1500s, starting with Luther a failed Catholic monk. Many denominations followed after that, Luther himself regretted it. Calvinism is one brand of Protestantism.

Great talk, Rabbi! I'm an atheist ( raised Catholic), but I gravitate where my thirst for a lifetime of continuing education takes me, and you are a great teacher and expositor. In fact, you're better at Christianity than most Christians I've known in my 40 years. Frankly, Paul lost all luster for me after I studied Nietzsche's estimations of him in my early twenties - "...Paul nailed Jesus to HIS cross...". Jesus was a Jew; Paul (along with John, I suppose) made him into a Christian. If the "belated testament" consisted solely of Mark and the Epistle of James, I might still be able to live with being a Christian. But 2000 years of utter confusion and theological rubbish proves too much a horror to even spend a moment of my limited life trying to unravel and make sense of...as my wonderful grandma used to say, "...like trying to pick the peas out of the stew..." Peace and Love to All!

Also, just as Muslims quote, "Not all who say to be, Lord, Lord shall enter the kingdom of heaven" and miss "not all," thinking it means "no one," you have omitted, "until all be accomplished" from "not a jot or tittle shall pass from the law." Once you're done reading the five books of Moses you can clearly see that there was never a time. Never a time that someone could mistake Hashem for multiple bodies or different personalities. Hashem can choose to manifest himself in different ways, and sometimes an angel that is at a very high level can be referred to in a word that means G-d but is not. Also with how controversial it can be, but I would like to add, that the L in TULIP, might not necessarily mean they were elected for (Heaven) and the unelected are damned to hell. For illustration purposes, The people who were (let's say) not elected, might be the ones who are left behind in the rapture according to Pauls's epistles. If that is the case, then they will still have an opportunity to be saved (elected ). My understanding of the L isn't fully concrete I do recognize that, but I'm just playing a little devil's advocate. Because I don't think at the time of reformation they would believe something so obviously absurd.
