Start: 8:42 Break End: 2:57:32 This episode was so good! Jack is such a good DM and all the characters are so fun, I can't wait to see what this campaign has in store! Also as someone who knows nothing about Pathfinder, this was really easy to get into, I can't wait to learn more about this system!
Archives of nethys has all the rules for free, AND the discord also has a lot of beginner box plays
Thank you for the time stamp, I fell asleep during the break.
Start of actual campaign 16:15
Ill be looking for your comment on the next video! XD thank you!
Thank you,I was about to mash double tapping
"I dont use negative or positive damage here, it's like necrotic or radiant." **shifty eyes at the remaster which renames it all (yet again) to vitality and void.**
...why not just call it holy? 'i hit the skeleton with vitality damage.' doesn't have the same ring to it. Paizo I love you but what the heck?
@@Wanderingsage7 Good and Evil damage is being renamed to Holy and Unholy damage
And Holy and Unholy are not attached to Void and Vitality.
I swear void and vitality damage are the worst descriptors...
@@cidlunius1076in one of the variant rules for 2E there's renamed damage types and they're called Radiant and Shade damage. No idea why they didn't just go with that tbh
@@paulrudd1483 I guess they want to make clear distinction from DnD radiant and Necrotic, as for why not Shade idk
wow going back to where early inspiration roots of pathfinder began. eberron pulp action adventure and world pretty much paved way for pathfinder world to exist. plus the main artist of eberron, wayne reynolds became main artist for pathfinder too.
Yeah they are a really good match
Yeah @dungeonmaster16 I just learned this about Wayne Reynolds today!
Basic save means
No damage on crit sucess
Half damage on success
Full damage on fail
Double damage on crit fail
He really is one of the most gms of all time. This was a blast and super immersive.
I think you accidentally a word.
18:30 Jordan's character
37:25 Colton's character
52:30 Spencer's character
1:00:00 Jacob's character
1:21:40 Tyler's character
1:38:30 Grace's character
some movement clarifications for severin. i believe they are a drifter, and one of their abilities for that way is Into the fray, which pretty much gives them a free action to draw a weapon and move on the first movement of their FIRST turn.
for stick, you also have to use one action to allow the animate dead summon to use two actions. they are fantastic summons for doing fun stuff like grab and nosh.
@@MrBakersdozen2020 I think that is true of all summons. The action itself is called Work Together.
For arena, the Haunting Hymn is a basic fort save, which is half damage on a success.
@@MrBakersdozen2020the actual action used for summons is “Sustain” which also allows you to issue a two action command for the summoned creature. It also prevents (until higher levels) multiple summons at the same time (although the witch using the “Cackle” focus spell can pull a dual summon at first level)
I love that you guys are doing 2e AND Eberron! Can't wait to watch!
As someone that had the privilege of learning how to play 2e in the safety of a non-streamed table, I hope you guys stick through the rough part its learning curve, and that the internet isn't overly judgmental of you, since IMO 2e it's a great system and really provides something unique for a fantasy TTRPG. It is common to stumble in the beginning, but the rules are very well designed and precisely written.
Uhhh! Been GMing a Pathfinder Game the last few months, my first contact with the system, love the variety as players and GM. Hyped AF for your series!
Same one major difference I've noticed with 5e:
In 5e, your class and subclass makes up most of your build, the feats add some extra.
In PF2e, your class and subclass acts as a scaffolding, with your feats making up the key parts of your build
I think colton forgot the 1st level free ability boost having three 10s and a 16 as your highest stat is kinda weird, unless it's a choice to make the character weaker
So so so very hyped for this; I’ve always wanted to see Eberron explored in an actual play and have been taken by PF2E since the start of the year.
Such a shame I couldn’t catch it live but I’ll be making an extra effort to do so in the future with this campaign.
If you're also having to constantly adjust the volume, I found out that you can get a audio compressor extension which helped everyone be audible without the laughter blowing out my eardrums
An Eberron campaign AND it's PF2e?!?!? Amazing!! I just recently converted my 5e Eberron characters to PF2e and it makes them so much better suited for swashbuckling pulp adventure IMO. Excited to watch this campaign!
One note though-- some of the mics are very quiet in this ep, hopefully next ep it'll be easier to hear! XD
Love to see you guys play Pathfinder2e, i think it deserves more attention! ❤
1:42:00 20 or 1 is not automatic critical hit or failure. It is just pushing success or failure one level up or down. Usually it is crit, but not always.
Hats off to you guys for learning a new system and streaming at the same time! PF2 is super rewarding but it can be frustrating initially because it works differently to 5e and there is a learning curve. One of the main differences is that with 5e everyone can pretty much do their own thing. PF2 is very much a team game - if the PCs don't work together things will be difficult.
Oh and a request for the DM - please go easy on new players! A "moderate" encounter in PF2 is equivalent to a "deadly" encounter in 5e. I recommend really dialing down the difficulty until everyone gets a hang of their abilities and how they all intersect.
Pathfinder content from this channel
Very happy to see more Eberron live play!
I agree.
dm seemed a little stressed but i imagine he will get over it as time goes on over all good ep 1 and will try to continue to watch
PF2e takes a bit longer to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it's far easier to run than most systems.
Paizo designed the system with GMs in mind, so prepping and running the game is easier because the system helps a lot.
He was learning the system while learning how to run the game at the same time. While on stream, he's doing just fine
I love this so much! The cast, the setting and the System. This is gold!!
whoever is in charge of the music deserves mad credit. the elder scrolls soundtracks are PHENOMINAL
The corporate music is phenomenally ironic.😂
Just started and I can tell this dude playing Roy has a real talent. Damn am I excited for this series!
Great stuff!
I've been wanting to check out a good PF2 live play so that's perfect that it's the Arcane Arcade gang who launches one! 😃
Sweet setting to choose too & to see Jack DM.
I'm chuffed for the guys that the sound was good & there were no technical hiccups for the premiere! 👍
I can feel everyones excitement through the screen will definitely be watching through this one
So excited to see where this goes, really enjoyed this episode!
For Animate Dead and other summoning spells, the creature that you summon acts on your turn after you cast the spell. On later turns you can also command a minion to act by spending an action to sustain the spell. Be warned that summons are minions, and thus only have 2 actions and no reactions when they act (and since zombie shamblers are permanently slowed 1, they would only have 1 action per turn compared to other undead minions!)
Truly the most GM of all time!
I'm excited for this! GM is great, players and their characters are fantastic, Eberron is always a fun time, and Pathfinder! I'm very excited to see more Pathfinder!
8EER-8OT and Severin are my favorite characters so far
Great episode! I'm starting to write an advanture in Eberron and I really needed some good inspiration. It was great, going to watch the next episode :D
dudeeee i love yall for playing the hades osts during the combat its so good
also this is my first time watching a dnd play through !!!
this is very exciting
Super engaging, I’m gunna love watching this especially as they get better with the the rules too
When Roy is talking to Isla about a door code i could only hear in my head was
"Sovereign and sex, if i come here and bruce gives me that dumb look again. All like "whos there, i dont know you" imma punch him in his nuts"
Having been familiar with only 5e since i got into D&D, I'm interested in learning about PF2e
You won't regret it. Healing is actually useful and fun. Skills are more useful. And the races more interesting.
Oh! I'd be super interested to see what additional rules you used to play Eberron with PF2e, in particular how you're doing Artificers and Dragonmarks!
Well, PF2E does already have an inventor class, and dragonmarks could be implemented as Heritage options
@@theninjaguy2 also tattoos exist so just reflavour them
@@Dr_Robin_Zoro Dragonmarks are not tattoos, they are a set of magical bloodlines that manifests a visual mark on the heirs of said bloodlines. They're more akin to birthmarks then anything else.
But you could just reflavor the arcane tattoos in pf2e to be the dragon marks.
this was amazing, i'm already waiting for the next episode!
Same.
Wooohooo! When you started talking about Eberron in another video, I was hoping you were getting into it. This should be great.
Am I in the wrong or some people haven't distributed 4 attribute point for their characters?
2/3 with s flaw - from ancestry
2 - from background
4 - starting attributes.
Also I'd like to share one rule with you: the one who claims - the one who rolls.
Wish y'all had an audio format so I can listen while I'm at work.
I've been wanting to play Pathfinder 2e in Eberron for 4 years and haven't gotten to do it. I'm super excited about checking out this show.
Volumes are all over the place. Jacob can be heard most times but even he is low at times. For the other players when talking very low. However when the group laughs or gets excited gets very loud. Need to crank the volume to hear but then laughter and players when excited then gets super loud.
Crits work a bit diffrent for guns as they get insane damage on crit changing their base damage dice ornadding extra damage dice.
I mean it's not guns specifically that do that. That's the Fatal weapon trait that does it and while a lot of guns have it, it isn't on all of the guns. But more firearms have access to fatal damage than those that don't.
@@Nidrog yup its just you have to be more vigilant on guns themselves.
Yeeeessss, my favorite actual play people playing my favorite system, that's amazing
After years of seeing lots of other ttrpg settings shamelessly converted in 5e ,i never immaginated to see a on official dnd settings played in a different systems.
The pf2e curse of strahd fan project is v cool. Definitely check it out.
Great group, great DM, great setting, look forward to watching more of these.
Please, please enable auto subtitles or non-natives like me will suffer
I liked this episode. First time watching. The group is good and kept me engaged for 4 hrs
Jacob should look at the unexpected sharpshooter archetype for his character, feel like it fits and gives jacob a reason for more shenanigans
Oh yeah definitely. That would be beautiful
Eberron is a great setting! Sharn is probably the best place to start an Eberron campaign, but I hope they go elsewhere because there are so many interesting cities in khorvaire that ive never seen used
And xendrik and Sarlona too. With pf2 now got psychic and rules around psionic like features they can do Sarlona with some tweaks.
I'm sure you've figured it out already, but where the GM was confused about using deception against a NPC's deception DC, their deception DC is their Modifier +10
I'm not sure if you're homebrewing weird ancestries or low power characters, but 8eer-8ot has significantly lower attributes than a level 1 should have. Hopefully you can fix the character sheet up.
Happy to see a quality pathfinder live play. :)
Pf2, the only d20 system game system where 'x on a crit' features are worth taking imo.
Trying to learn the game myself so this is great. I also love using the Hades soundtrack for my combats
It's awesome to see more and more channels try other things other than DnD. More games deserve a chance in the limelight.
DnD is a good starting point, but for those seeking a more specific experience (Crunch, narrative, tension) other games certainly do it better. I've moved on to Pathfinder2e since I prefer more mechanical control, but plan to try other games like Mask, Blades in the Dark, Legend of the 5 Rings, etc.
We don't play the same video game or watch the same movie forever, why do the same with our RPGs?
It's a good time for TTRPGs.
Man the memories of my Eberron campaign, starring a Shifter Rogue and a Changeling Artificer who grew up rough as street kids deep in the underlayers of one of the towers; the Warforged Fighter that was built by the Artificer while they served in the Army during the war (they were basically a “covert op” strike team with rotating fourth person based on the mission); and a Half-Fae Sorceress that found herself dropped into this world from a magical disaster both where she was, and one happening simultaneously in Eberron (Experimental Portal magical devices are dangerous kids!).
“I’m your fucking nightmare buddy” will never leave my brain
Pathfinder 2e is so fun. With Eberron one the best d&d settings next to Golarion.
Previous fan of Evenfall, so great to see this cast in Eberron my favorite setting!
Nice an immersive pf2 campaign hyped!!!
Omg some Eberron, my favorite D&D setting and the only one I actually know more than a few names of !
Me likey.
Hype for this!
I’ve only played the pathfinder video games and never seen a table top pathfinder game, so this is going to be an interesting watch for me
Combat Mode Engaged is officially one of the greatest things I've seen in awhile
EBERRON HYPEEEE
I can see you put a lot into staying cool. I hope you get AC there soon. Great video!
Here's some clarification for the players at the table if the overlay is representative of the PCs:
As a rule of thumb, characters should have 18 on their main stat unless the build they're doing really demands otherwise, which means the folks at the table need some fine tuning on their characters while things are beginning in order to have a good with their characters. +1 really matters in PF2e.
Also, that Gunslinger character NEEDS to change ASAP. You CAN'T have 12 on DEX on a class that mainly shoots at people. They need that bonus and they need it at max to increase their critical hit chances.
I hope you guys see this and take it to heart. It is basically the only rule you need to follow while creating characters in PF2e "As long as you have 18 in your main stat, you can do whatever you want with everything else".
Beerbot also missed 3 boosts somehow
Sometimes, playing sub-optimally is part of the fun
@@stevendorries Playing sub-optimally is quite different in PF2e, I'm afraid.
You can have a fully "optimized" character and still play sub-optimally, because in PF2e, the way you use your abilities, and when, is more important than the stats you have chosen at character creation.
My comment was geared solely towards newcomers to PF2e. Every bit of info helps.
Having a 18 on a character stat is not being "optimal", it's just a good rule of thumb for new players. 16 is fine, though, because dice variance is a thing, however, only a few builds call for it , so if you can, you should aim for that 18.
@@LightningRaven42 if your comment was general advice for anyone new to PF2e, why was it directly addressed to the players at the table? Did you use the royal “the table”?
@@stevendorries Because the guys at the table are also new. But my comment is valid for all new players.
PF2e is a great game, but it demands a lot more from its players as well, so anyone who's a veteran will reach out to help, because people already have done a great disservice to this game by badmouthing it online and spreading misinformation.
There's been a tendency of prominent figures online trying out the game, applying their DnD5e "knowledge" to it, then once their experience don't match their wrong expectations, they just call the game bad and dismiss it entirely, which leads to other people, those prone to follow online discourse, to dismiss the game as well.
All six of these characters are so fucking cool! I love each and every one of them
Natural 20 dosent auto crit it inly increases the tier of sucess by 1. So a natural 20 for total 28 vs a DC of 30 will be just a sucess. 28 vs a dc of 48 will make a crit fail into normal fail. The opposite for natural 1s.
Yup! That way a level 1 can’t just randomly crit success a DC 40 lock, or even succeed. A nat 20 would just make the crit failure into a failure.
The gunslinger has too low dexterity to be effective in combat
One of the few games I actually got to play in, and one of my favorite ones (ah, to spend 4 decades as a forever GM) was playing a Waterdeep setting using PF1e rules. A human Kinetisist that the GM decided to make more interesting by telling me that his powers didn't interact with the Weave whatsoever, thus making his abilities a curiosity AND a danger. Perhaps to himself, but certainly from those important folks that might find out. The deep lore of Ed Greenwood and the near infinite customizing that was available in PF... a truly magnificent combination.
Needless to say, I'm greatly looking forward to watching this campaign.
You guys combined my two favorite things! Eberron and PF2e! Any chance you'll release this as a podcast version? I would love to be able to listen in places where I can't use UA-cam!
Woot! So glad to see Eberron being used!
Dude I love this channel so much
Absolutely loving this
Eberron is my favourite setting, been running my D&D games in it for 5 years now and I'll be sticking with it when we switch to Pathfinder for the next campaign
And I am totally stealing Blinky's
Nice to see some pathfinder 2e content. The 3 action combat is fun.
Gameplay begins at 16:15
Oooh! Pf2e! I am so excited! 😁😁😁🎉🎉🎉
i see Eberron, I watch
Thank you for this. I have loved Eberron since first released. I am hopeful the PF2e plugs into the campaign setting better than 5e.
Thanks again, and I look forward to learning PF2e with you.
Yeah the safety of ranged combat comes with reduced damage. You can flatfoot at range by making prone, by grapple or even by making a distraction.
loving the new show! so sad i cant binge it but am excjted for the next episode!
It's a Pathfinder play, in Eberron... But it lists as "The Witcher"? TF UA-cam!
Please keep it like this! I just loved the swearing and the RP. Dont censor yourselves! Just loved the show!!! Bravo!
Only problem is that theres some player who seems to try DM the game which makes the DMing clearly awkward.
A PF2e Eberron campaign? Count me the fuck in 🤘
I'm very interested to find out how a Juggernaut warforged With a furnace in their belly Would look After they take off their heavy plate Armor. A juggernaut warforged Can take an hour after a Long rest and completely stripped their armor down to the dark wood core for stealthy purposes, But it has to be a do or die situation because it takes another long rest and an hour to put the armor back on. Inadition Warforged armor is not only very heavy but it can also fetch a pretty penny, So removing it Can lead to the DM pulling shenanigans.
is there a wiki for this campaign?
Characters should have 18 in their key stat for their class. Everything else is optional more or less.
The Create Undead (that can be cast even by pure martials) ritual does need a corpse unlike the spell animate dead. And is Evil
I can't be the only one that noticed the warforged is missing a few ability boosts.
1:13:54 Definitely to much description, lol. Lovely game so far though. I'm a big fan of Eberron and using PF2E for it? Thats pretty cool. The setting and the system go pretty well together.
A lot of stuff also has critical fail. So feinting makes you flatfooted on crit fail
Also guns need to reload. For an action
Capacity still needs an action to reload it just dosent need a free hand to reload.
Create a Diversion is for ranged.
Cant wait for the next one !
I'm very curious how pathfinder system will fit into the world of eberron. Most classes should be pretty easy to integrate and the inventor and gunslinger will be right at home. The Ancestries will be interesting though. Its one thing to just say leshy don't exist in this world, but certain eberron specific ancestries will be hard to fit in. Shifters can probably be substituted for a combination of catfolk, kitsune, and the beastfolk versatile heritage. Kalashtar would also have to be a versatile heritage. maybe Amphorite or Ganzi?
No idea what to do for changelings and dragonmarked houses aside from homebrew
dragonmarks can be ancestry feats and shifters can be changelings with veil may 1st lvl feat, changelings are similar to beaskin
Changeling is a rare ancestry, I believe
Wait my boy Jack DMing? Say less I'm in!
How did I miss this.
Dropping am item is a free action. Stowing or shething it is an action
Game start 16:17
Roy is - in fact - our boy!
The warforged"s art shows the weapon on the left hand
aren't Coltons stats too low?
The sum of the stats should be 78 (60 base+4 ancestry [+6-2]+4 backround+2 class+ 8 free). His is 72. Is this intentional ?
