    - To tell more stories from a place of empathy.

    - To improve my vocabulary
    - If there is no conflict in my story then there is no story.

Ricky Ponting was a far better cricketer than Sachin Tendulkar - Batting in Test Cricket and ODI Cricket, Captaincy and Fielding.
And he as was passionate about the game AND TRAINED when he played from Mowbrays Club in Launceston as he was in his 168th Test.

    3. Build bank of stories
Reflect on your life: proudest, what made that happened, biggest failure what you learned.
Stories in organization, products, projects. Failed products. Milestones.
    Sports and Mythologies
Listen a lot more to know more stories.
    Leaders other people's stories.

10 minutes to get used to his accent wow! Hope that's not typical of the majority. In the global village that we live in there are a lot of native English speakers with different accents and it would be a shame if such a valuable speech as this one was to be lost on them. Appreciate your thoughts though, and thanks for sharing 👍

  • @bangmachiv
    @bangmachiv 3 роки тому +5

    2. stories speak to emotions of people. Decision science tells business decisions are influenced when you speak to people emotions. Lessons :
    - don't start from 'I', make audience agree and nod with you
    - contrast is biggest tool, find fertile grounds of contrast, as if you are building new product means you are building a new world, explain that new planet the use of product takes you to
    Eg. Symoathy to empathy
    3. Long shelf life dont leverage falsehood, come from place of truth. But truth alone is not sufficient.
But truth has to be articulated well as well. Presentation matters.
Eg. If you give bad feedback good way the employee could want to work with you all life
    4. CTA : call to action is not mandatory, don't state the obvious, remove obvious from presentation
    5. Conflict, Resolution, hero : problem, product, innovator.
What kind of world you envision. Eg. Dove rewrote the story of ownership of beauty.
To find conflict you need insight.
    "Imagine a world where...."
    Vocabulary
New ideas interestingly, old ideas in new way
