Huh, I always thought that an "art director" is actually higher on the pipeline than a "production designer", like the director is the head honcho thinking up everything, and designer is the one working out everything in detail for production needs
I thought that too but it makes more sense for me at least when you put emphasis on _production_ designer. They're the designer behind the production as a whole

Finally somebody explains it! Honestly i'd find being the production designer of a show/movie would be amazing if I followed that career
