Awesome review! When I climb with it I like to attach a large williams carabiner to get a better handle. Also handy when u need a quick 3 to 1 pulley. It's versatile and I like it.
This is amazing croll by petzl
Hey Derek! Wonderful video as always. Do you know if ascenders from other companies like CT and Camp have the same issue with using soft steel in the cams?
Camp uses anodized carbon steel and CT uses chrome plated steel (like Petzl once did). I don't have many miles on these, but I expect they don't have the same wear issues as Petzl. There are other variables though, and for now I still favor Petzl mostly for things like size, weight, efficiency in crossing rebelays, and efficiency climbing rope. I'll be spending more time on the Camp and CT ascenders once things open up, and I'll do a thorough review then.
Do you have any experience with the CT chest ascender hc? Could the high corrosion resistance be more suited for caving applications?
I don't have any experience with the HC version of the CT Chest Ascender, but the "hard coat" appears to be an improved anodizing on the aluminum body of the ascender to reduce wear. Everything else about the design looks the same so I'm sure they function identically. If you can find the HC version at the same cost then I guess why not, but I don't see it as widely sold as the standard CT Chest Ascender.
La técnica de ascenso es lo importante.
Nice
