Fact: Awakening was supposed to be the last fire emblem because the franchise wasn't very popular at that moment. But after that game the franchise became more loved, so basically Awakening "awakened" Fire Emblem from rough times
It wasn't "supposed to be" the last Fire Emblem game. It was IntSys's last ditch effort to save the franchise with what little resources were still keeping them from bankrupcy. It was supposed to be succesful enough to save the series, and went above and beyond anything IntSys could've expected, even though there were several things they had to cut from their plans for the game due to the aforementioned lack of resources.
@@Felixr2 I apologize for my ignorance, but does IS keep making other games? Or is it just FE?
@@MicaelHD That's a very reasonable question! They've definitely been focussing most of their efforts on FE since the success Awakening, but they have been doing other stuff. WarioWare and Paper Mario come to mind. They also developed Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. for the 3DS. I've heard somewhat credible rumors that a new Advance Wars game is supposed to come this year (though obviously, take that with a hefty grain of salt). Back in the NES days, they were involved with the development of quite a few big games, like Metroid, Mario Bros., Donkey Kong 3, Duck Hunt, Stack Up and Gyromite (R.O.B.'s games) and some of the original sports games, like Tennis, Soccer, Baseball and Golf.
I personally wonder how much of a part the ambassador program played...without that free sacred stones copy Nintendo handed out, wonder if I would have ever tried FE...

The canon is a lot like Final Fantasy: mostly the games are unrelated, but some are linked together, which is what the categories in this list are about: games that have story links are under the same heading.
to note is, Jugdral and Archanea/Valentia are technically in the same universe.
@@tirex3673 it's complicated.
@@Parmandur nah, Jugdral playing 1000 years before Marth's games is simple as that, to make it complicated, i could mention, the connection between fates&awakening though outrealm shenanigans, (that could be timeline shenanigans), and Awakening having some weird references to Tellius.
@@tirex3673 not to mention 3 character from Awakening are actually IN Fates and high Support between these characters reveals that they took a tumble through some sort of portal and found themselves in Fates world.
@@thesuminer There's actually a series of three DLC maps in Fates that tell that exact story.

Fire Emblem: *exists*
Smash fans: *visible anger*
Smash and fire emblem fans: LESSSSGOOOOO
The problem, I think, is mostly with how Fire Emblem as a series is represented in Smash. The Lord characters from the series tend towards being swordsmen with blue or red hair, and, since it's typically the main protagonists of a given game that are given first dibs on fighter status when it comes Smash, this results in the perception to those unfamiliar with the franchise that this is all those games are about. As you've seen, FE has more to offer than just swords in terms of what their characters are capable of doing. There are archers, mages, armoured knights, horse/pegasus/wyvern riders, shapeshifting characters that can turn into beasts or dragons, and so on. Of course, not all of those can necessarily translate smoothly into the Smash Bros format, either.
What I personally think would help in this regard is if there was a new summoning item akin to the Pokéball or Assist Trophy that summoned a Fire Emblem character as a supporting fighter, from a listing of a handful of the more popular characters from each title. Perhaps the Breidablik from Fire Emblem Heroes (being that gun-looking thing the guy at 41:20 is carrying). Wouldn't stop those from crying 'too many swordfighters', granted, but still.
@@theherohartmut magic sword is just a fantasy thing in general I mean even outside fe the majority of characters use swords

Awakening is a great place to start in the series. It’s modern, permadeath is optimal and it has an entertaining story with a slow difficulty curve. I feel that it was designed to welcome new players into the series and I feel like it’s a great place to get in to the series.
As much as everyone wants you to start with 3H, I'd personally recommend Awakening.
while awakening is the best starting point, i feel like it's easier to get into 3H since he has a switch(not sure if he got a 3ds or not).
I think Three Houses is a far better game to get people hooked into the series
Yes! That was my first and is my fav FE game
While Awakening is one of the best FE games, so is Three Houses. FE: Three Houses is not only really damn good but it is a much friendlier beginner game for those who has not played FE before.
Besides, by the time he starts FE a new one should have already released.
Both 3H and Awakening are very beginner friendly (compared to most other FE games, at least) and exceptionally good games, but I still think Awakening would be a better starting point.
The reason? Simply because more recent games have generally improved what their predecessor did, and it's pretty obvious that 3H is better than most recent FE games; which in return means that starting from 3H and going backwards would make previous titles feel worse in comparison. Furthermore, Awakening has a single story line instead of three, so it would be a less heavy introduction to the serie. And also i'm super biased towards Awakening because i loved that game and you cannot judge me.
(Btw, i'm pretty sure he does have a 3DS, isn't he playing Ocarina of Time 3D?)
"Wait.. It's a mobile game... uh..." HAHAHAHA
lmao yeah i was waiting for it to show that it was a mobile game when he was excited during the first trailer
The two types of FE trailers:
-Big Operatic Epic Trailer
-Japanese girl plays FE with soft music in the background
side note: a lot of people are suggesting you start with Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but I actually suggest you start with Fire Emblem: Awakening, as it’s a lot more straightforward, and Three Houses can get tedious at times
So Japan in general
What about dorcas’ poisoned mutton
Personally I would recommend starting with sacred stones of Path of Radiance because those games are generally really easy And at least PoR has one of the best stories in the franchise
@@mythcommunication3220 those games cost a fortune tho. every copy i found was like 100 bucks or over. which is why i havent played them yet. black knight is one of my favorite characters but i havent been able to play his game.

@@bloonh8tr619 And then the infinite Id (Purpose) remixes
OH, BOY.
Hearing how "Valentia", "Elibe", and "Fodlen" is pronounced is interesting.
The "sections" are the "timelines" in the franchise and the names are the continents within the games within those sections (minus Hoshido and Nohr, those are kingdoms on an unnamed continent). 2020 was Fire Emblem's 30th anniversary, as the second trailer shows off. The anniversary launch of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light will go away on March 30th. In fact, every Fire Emblem pre-Fire Emblem 7 (Blazing Sword/Blade) is Japanese exclusive, so having an official translation of Fire Emblem 1 is nice.
The dedicated Fire Emblem fanbase doesn't shy away from using romhacking to not only play the older games (They generally avoid romhacking the newer games (Awakening and everything afterward)), they also use romhacking to make "new" games using GameboyAdvance Fire Emblem's engine(s).
18:00 The one wearing the mask is Marth.
23:16 Yes and no. They're not connected by timeline, as there's events in games that conflict with other games, but it's possible to encounter a weapon or a reference to a character in another game. Example, Ike (main character in the Tellius games) is referenced in Awakening by the existence of Priam, who is supposedly a descendant of Ike. The problem with this has to do with Tellius being the only continent to exist in the two Tellius games (outside the suggestions that Ike wasn't as straight as an arming sword is). Then you have Magvel's history making absolutely no reference to Naga or any of the other divine dragons (Mila and Duma are also divine dragons), not to mention lacking any reference to anything else in the franchise. So much so, that if you remove Fire Emblem 8 (Sacred Stones) from the franchise and treat it as its own game, nothing would happen to either game's storylines, not even by references (Awakening has a weapon or two from Sacred Stones). The "yes" comes from the fact that Fates (Fire Emblem 13) added something that was negative at the time. Those being the Outrealms (no, not like Mortal Kombat; 58:21), which are realms were time flows differently in each realm. Games before Fates hinted towards such things (Fire Emblem 7: Blazing Sword being the chief example) but not in such detail.
24:18 Genealogy. The study of bloodlines. This was the first game in the franchise to introduce "child" units. Fire Emblem 4 (Genealogy of the Holy War) is considered to have the darkest story in the franchise.
All I can say is two things about the commercial for 776, though. Japan and the 90s.
27:28 YESSSS. THE FIRST ENGLISH FIRE EMBLEM TRAILER!!! "What happened to Dorcas?" is a meme within the fanbase and is even referenced by Dorcas himself in Fire Emblem Heroes.
28:57 Those are more specifically Wyverns (yes, I know, they have four legs, but shh). The actual dragons within the franchise are far more magical than one might first think, as they can take human forms, and some are so powerful they're worshipped like gods (Duma, Mila, and Naga are three examples).
29:10 The third time you said "Elibe" is how its pronounced. The last 'e' is silent.
31:09 Fun fact, Path of Radiance is the most expensive game in the franchise to get your hands on if you don't wanna bother with playing it through a rom.
35:04 MY GIRL, TITANIA, WOO!
35:32 Fates could've been the best Fire Emblem if its story made sense (and not like 70% of the script was canned).
Huh, I just realized how interesting the choice of the "yin-yang" imagery is in Fates' Japanese trailer is... I won't say more than that, but it's an interesting choice. Idky I didn't notice that before. I will say, though, there's only two choices that actually matter. One is basically "I want this route" and the other has to do with choosing between a new unit or a pair of boots (Boots give one to the movement stat).
40:36 "Zenith" is actually Midgard, but anyway. Fire Emblem Heroes is the mobile gacha game. Considering the likelihood of you not playing it; the guy is Alfonse and the girl is Shaerna. They are brother and sister. The guy with the mask is supposedly Alfonse's best friend, Bruno, and the even smaller girl is Bruno's sister, Veronica. Bruno disappeared, looking to cure himself and his sister of some curse that's supposedly afflicting their minds, causing them to act more malevolent every passing day. Veronica, not knowing this, is acting out, summoning heroes from the rest of the franchise and forcing them to sign "contracts" (we have no context of what or how these contracts actually work) and believes the Kingdom of Askr (Alfonse and Shaerna's home) did something to him. Veronica and Bruno are royals of Embla, while Alfonse and Shaerna are royals of Askr. Alfonse, Shaerna, and Veronica have shown up in other games outside the franchise, specifically in Dragalia Lost, another gacha owned by Nintendo. If you think "Embla" is a cheeky reference to "Fire Emblem", it's not. Askr is Old Norse for "Ash tree", while Embla is Old Norse for "Elm tree".
Of course, there's a lot more going on, as I mentioned "Zenith" is Fire Emblem's version of Midgard from Norse mythology. So the story involving Veronica and Bruno is only in "book 1" (Fire Emblem Heroes is in book 5, which has to do with "Dwarves").
42:05 You actually did hit the nail on the head. Fire Emblem Heroes actually has added some characters people were unaware even existed in the franchise. What I'm surprised by is the lack of the other books trailers in this list. The second trailer is actually more about something within Fire Emblem Heroes called "Brave" alternatives. Brave units are characters picked by the playerbase to put alternative versions of them into the game. The characters shown are Ike (in his father's armor), Lyndis (don't quite know the context of her outfit), Lucina (in her promoted outfit), and Eliwood (in his promoted outfit). Ike is from Tellius (of course), Lyndis and Eliwood are from Elibe, and Lucina is from Archanea. To make it easier on who is who. Ike is the guy with the axe, Lyndis has the bow (Lyndis in game has green hair; adding, 56:16 is Lyndis), Eliwood has the sword and horse (Eliwood has red hair in game), and Lucina is the one with the spear (Lucina has blue hair in game).
45:12 I remember watching the E3 live at my place of work. I had to keep my excitement down when I saw it. I first thought it was for Octopath Traveler, then I heard the main Fire Emblem theme on the organ and the dialogue. But it was exciting seeing it. Just so you know, the voice in the first trailer isn't in the final game. That was the voice of Edelgard, which was Cristina Vee at the time. The voice in the second trailer for Edelgard is Tara Platt, which is the finalized voice for Edelgard.
Cindered Shadows is a DLC side-story.
Three Houses is considered to be tied with Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn and Genealogy of the Holy War/Thracia 776 for having the best story in the franchise.
With that all said, the only spin off I care about is Warriors; TMS can die in a ditch for all I care.
54:41 And another day he did. He was added to Ultimate; sadly without much fanfare, 59:22.
On the note of Corrin's Smash trailer; the fandom considers some genders of the "avatars" are more canon than the other. In Robin's case, it's male Robin. In Corrin's case, it's female Robin. With Byleth, it almost appears tied (though, most siding with male Byleth).
There's another "avatar" of Fire Emblem, but they're not in Smash. That being Kris. Male Kris is considered "canon" by the fandom. There's also Mark, but gender isn't a choice with them, so it's personal preference on that one.
I will say, the "best" places to start in the franchise are Three Houses, Awakening, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, and Blazing Sword. AKA, Fire Emblem 15, Fire Emblem 12, Fire Emblem 8, Fire Emblem 9, and Fire Emblem 7.
One small correction: you _can_ choose the gender of the FE7 avatar. However his/her relevance in the story is so small that it doesn't matter either way.
I'd love to see you cover fire emblem. At least the newer titles (awakening, fates, Three houses)
SoV too
It's an advice from Silas, the gray-haired Lucas.
I think he should start off with the very first FE game since its going to be removed from the Eshop in March

Real talk: the to Jugdral games are great, but... different. Very different.
Real talk: all the FE games are very different, the Jugdral games are no exception. Shadow Dragon, Mystery of the Emblem, Binding Blade and to some extent Blazing Blade are the only games that fit what people actually tend to consider "standard FE". Gaiden/SoV are weird. Fates/Awakening are weird. The Tellius games are weird. Sacred Stones is weird. Three Houses is weird. I don't see what about the Jugdral games makes them stand out that much, honestly.

Awakening was actually my first Fire Emblem game. I was born in 92, but I never got any of the games that we actually got around that time. I need to rebuy Awakening and play it again.
Also, the game has an amazing cast including Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, Sam Regal, Travis Willingham, and more. All legends in the VA community. (Probably the most "star-studded" cast for anime dub fans in the series)
Wow, I never expected something like this from anyone really! I suppose I should since it's really starting to grow with three houses. This series is probably one of my favorites from Nintendo and I recommend it if you like srpg's or want to get started with them
Three Houses pulled a lot of new people and continues to.
The names of the categories are the names of the world/land/realm the game takes place in. Games from the same category all have the same lore. For example, the events of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light are brought up at least vaguely in Awakening. In fact the masked character from Awakening uses the name Marth as an alias, paying homage to 'the legendary Hero-King' as they set about trying to be a hero worthy of the name. However she drops the name in favor of her real one when she reveals her identity to the game's Warrior Prince.
The Tellius games, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, follow the same characters. Radiant Dawn is the sequel to Path of Radiance, taking place three years after, and introduces some new characters as well as fleshing out some others. My favorite example is that at one point in Path of Radiance, during a span of three or four chapters where your band of characters has been granted passage on a ship to another nation to request asylum and aid, at one point it's revealed that a boy stowed away, and if you let him join your army he reveals at one point that he's looking for someone close to him. A girl he loves like a sister. Unfortunately this character is a thief who can't class change, and by that point you can already have a thief who's better in every way and said better thief will class change into a unique class as part of story progression. He becomes a character that keeps his thief abilities, but also becomes a valuable offensive character as well.
Now, Radiant Dawn opens with a cutscene showing a girl hiding from a group of soldier who are trying to capture her, and while they do find her and start to restrain her, before they can take her away the stowaway I mentioned before saves her. That girl is the 'sister' he was looking for, and not only does he get much more development as a result of being a member of the core group for the first part of the game, he also starts as a second tier class surrounded by first tier class characters. Of course he is still a thief meaning his only defense is the ability to evade, but he's pretty good at that and is a valuable asset. However that could be attributed to being a second tier class fighting a bunch of first tier class enemies.
I love how he chuckled during the Dorcas commercial. Honestly I'd love to see you try these games out
I know next to nothing about Fire Emblem, but what I do know is which games the Smash reps are from:
Marth: the first one and a lot more
Roy: The Binding/Blazing Blade
Ike: Path of Radiance / Radiant Dawn
Robin, Lucina & Chrom: Awakening
Corrin: Fates
Byleth: Three Houses
Well this is an unexpected surprise! Fire Emblem is my favorite Nintendo franchise so I'm happy to see that you're interested in getting into it! I definitely recommend either Awakening for the 3DS or Three Houses for the Switch as I feel those are the best ones for beginners to jump into.
I always say "Awakening" is the best entry point, and then go to "Three Houses". The latter has four different routes, and that can be intimidating for beginners. "Awakening" is more streamlined in that regard.
I highly recommend you Fire Emblem Awakening, and Fire Emblem (The Blazing Blade) for GBA is a beast. Three Houses turns a little long with all the grinding and rpg extras, but it's amazing
"There's only ONE punishment!" *shows big breasted woman*
xD they did that on purpose.
Fire Emblem games are connected in that many take place in the same world, just on a different continent, or a different time period. Only a small number of them are directly connected in a traditional sequel sense. (Thracia is a midquel to Genealogy, taking place in a neighboring nation during the middle portion of Genealogy. Thracia is also considered the hardest game in the franchise)
Was joyed to see you dive into Halo and gears. Happy to see a dive into fire emblem, my favorite Nintendo IP.
fire emblem sacred stones was my first fire emblem game that I played. It is still one of my most favorite games ever. Such a good story
This series really teaches you to think two steps ahead and exploit the enemy AI.
"some characters may reoccur in certain games"
Anna: Welcome!
btw, if you love games with a great story, you should definitely give Three Houses a go!
Ok, here goes the story behing Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem.
Back then in 2013 Nintendo released a 40 seconds teaser hinting a crossover between these two franchises. The teaser basically just showed the games' names and a bunch of characters from the main titles. Despite being so bland and not giving any information, the teaser sparked a lot of interest on both fanbases. On one hand we have SMT, a series known to feature serious tone, difficult decision making events, and usually 3 different endings (law, neutral, chaos) in a world full of gods and demons (from different mythos and real life religious icons). On the other hand we have Fire Emblem, a series known for the war between kingdoms in a medieval setting and losing allies permanently. Naturally, the fans of both franchises expected a very serious game merging all these adult themes + prominent characters getting to know each other. Sadly, we got the most unlikely thing: an idol-focused game with a few character Fire Emblem cameos with SMT combat. Many fans were disappointed that day and hate united both games' fanbases toward this game for a long time, but after years of that incident many fans learned to like the game for what it is. Gameplay is fun and storyline is tolerable if you don't think it is connected to Fire Emblem of SMT, but I still wish we had gotten a more serious game considering the base games where it was established.
Also I noticed you said you've not played an SMT game but I think you might have before. Not sure if you already played that Persona 5 Royal standing next to FF7R in the background, but let me tell you that Persona 5 is part of the Megami Tensei franchise (one of the 3 pillars of JRPGs alongside FF and Dragon Quest). It isn't exactly a Shin Megami Tensei game as that title is only used for mainline numbered games, but Persona is a spin-off that takes a ton of elements from mainline SMT such as gameplay (kinda easier though), enemy demon designs, monster collecting elements, and some sort of adult themes but toned down for a younger audience. So yeah, if you liked Persona combat, at least I think you might like SMT x Fire Emblem: Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and even most of the SMT games and spin-offs.
Hope this explanation clarified some questions regarding that game. I'm a fan of both franchises so I wanted to give the full context behind the game. Keep up the good work man! I started seeing your videos just a few months back but I can say it is fun to watch you play games from any franchise or console and these reaction videos are very fun too because no one seems to do em or act as enthusiastic as you.
Can confirm. I love both franchises and this was the least thing I'd expect to see from a crossover. It's fun though can't say this was the best route to take during development
Didn't nobody point out, that you not only have Character Progression by leveling up, but also possible friendships / romances between your team ?
And that (at least in Awakening) the children from those romances join you as well ?
Last but not least, not to forget the Perma-Death

A lot of other questions are probably being answered, so I’ll answer the small smash ones at the end!
- It did say that Chrom would “get his chance” at the very end of Smash 4 Robin’s trailer, however he was only included as apart of his final smash/winning cutscene.
- So the Chrom trailer was just him being added as an echo fighter for Roy into Ultimate.
- Yes Roy is a very fun character to play (no main bias, promise) I’ve been waiting for you to unlock him in Ultimate!
Finally, I do recommend you play 3 Houses (Byleth’s game) of course maybe on stream for a bit and if you enjoy it continue. Then for the sake of not recommended every other game, if you like 3 Houses then take a look at Awakening (Lucina, Robin, and Chrom’s game) as it’s also very good. Hope you’ll check out the 3D mario series soon! (64, Sunshine, Galaxy 1-2, and Odyssey)
wall of text oh and 3d world is being released on the switch soon, which is *technically* a 3d mario game though it’s better enjoyed with a couple of friends
Well, DeeBeeGeek will probably never see this comment, but Fire Emblem is a loosely connected story. They all exist in the same world, but most of them take place on different continents or in different centuries. As far as ones to play first, I'd highly recommend either Path Of Radiance for the GameCube, Awakening for 3DS, or Blazing Blade for Game Boy Advance. All three of them give a very good intro into the Fire Emblem universe and have some of the most consistent and polished gameplay for their particular takes on the Fire Emblem formula. Three Houses is a very good game as well, but its so incredibly different, it'll be very hard to get into the earlier games if you play it first. Good luck you mad lad, its a wonderful and maddening adventure you'll be diving into.
I never knew FEH had a live action trailer wtf
Fire emblem three houses when?
Seriously it’s so good, please play it deebeegeek!
Also, three houses is kinda like BOTW in the sense that it’s one of the most recent games in the series, is very different from most of the titles but doesn’t need any prior knowledge of the series to get into it. It’s a great starting point, and I’d recommend playing it first then working backwards like you are with Zelda
Was not expecting to see this in my recommended!
Fire emblem is legit one of my favourite game series ever
I've played Awakening 7 times completely and I fully intend to play more
Nani??? This was unexpected, would love to see him play Three Houses. Either Blue Lions or Golden Deer. Personally my favorite Fire Emblem is Path of Radiance & Radiant Dawn. Ike is my favorite Lord in the series and my username actually comes from those games. Smash Bros Melee was what originally introduced me to the series and I've been a fan ever since and played every english released game.
Three houses being my favourite game of all time and currently playing through awakening this is the most exciting I've been in a long long time
you must be really boring, child
January?! How on EARTH did I just see this video now??
Alright, listen. FE is great, it really is. I would love to see you play the newer ones (Three Houses, Echoes, etc.), but I don't think that I can overstate how absolutely amazing Genealogy of the Holy War is. Yes, it's older, yes, you need an emulator to play it, but the reward is fantastic. The story is unforgettable. If you end up playing the game, I guarantee you won't regret it.
That's why I'm hoping for a Shadows of Jugdral, I wanna experience FE4
Fun Fact about some of the fire emblem characters in smash. Roy and Corrin actually got into Smash bros before their games had released. corrin's game had come out in japan but not American but Roy appeared in Melee several months before his game (binding blade) came out making Smash Bros his debut game.
Also on a seperate note Chrom wasn't in Smash 4 he was just part of Robin's final smash, he did get his chance as a character in Ultimate though.
I lovvve that 90’s anime style for the original fire emblem
There's an actual anime based on the designs.
@@barcster2003 oh yeah it was just like two episodes tho right? :0 what a missed opportunity (well somewhat missed we did get those pilots at least ^^)
@@OhThatRobin but maaaarrs
I did start 2 old Fire emblem games but It wasn't for me back then. After a lot of years Three Houses came out and hands down it's one of my favourite games on the Switch. It can proudly stand next to Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 / DE and Mario Odyssey. It's a great game that eats hours and is really satisfying to play.
The music in this series is incredible, even FEH has amazing tracks. If you’re looking for a quick one, FEH is free and relatively quick on easier modes (not stuff like abyssal mode, people will sink literal hours into one map sometimes) but may contain spoilers for the games, but it has its own unique original characters and stories.
I think recommending FEH is a bad idea. Its not going to give him an idea of what the games are about.
23:18 Some of the Fire Emblem games are connected in that they take place in the same universe. Others take place in their own separate universes.
Awakening is my favorite, it’s a love letter to the whole franchise, three houses is still on my list
Dude, how have I never seen that live-action trailer for Heroes. That was awesome!
Now all we have to do is get him to play Shin Megami Tensei.
Wich one do you recommend to start playing that series?
@@jancarmona1155 we should wait for V. If you need him to speed it up IV. Or I guess any of the modern personas.
I think people should wait till Shin Megami Tensei V then recommend that.
@@jancarmona1155 i only know well smt: devil survivor 2. As good a start as any, I think, but I already knew about Persona at the time
You know what was the best part of Byleth's smash reveal direct? The Cuphead Mii Gunner costume. It was such a big controversy that after 4 third party characters the final fighters pass fighter was a first party character and a FE character at that, plus Byleth now makes it 8 FE fighters and people were not happy since theyve voiced that there are too many FE characters. At least Byleth is more than just a sword fighter, I enjoy breaking shields with neutral special and down special.
Yees Lets go Gamecube and GBA Nostalgia :')
Deebee I have to say if you're reading, you're my favourite creator on UA-cam even though I just found your channel 3 months ago. I love all your halo and Zelda content and I love how diverse and open minded you are when it comes to the different consoles. You let yourself have the most fun by not restricting yourself. Zelda is my favourite game franchise ever and fire emblem is 2nd or 3rd, and I'm passionate about halo, I'm getting into kingdom hearts and gears of war soon so it's so cool to see someone so like-minded in experiencing games published from all 3 different companies. You're the face of a united gaming community that I hope to see all across the internet one day
Oh, wow! I'm especially glad you're looking at stuff for all of the games, not just the popular ones. I think Path of Radiance is my favorite video game in general.
If you want more recommendations, my top 3 FE games are Path of Radiance, Sacred Stones and Three Houses, in that order.
Dee Bee Geek: (reacts to every smash trailer)
Dee Bee Geek when he sees Lucina/Robin's trailer: I don't think I've seen this one
This didn't have my favorite Shadows of Valentia trailer, though
I just realised it’s ordered by where they’re set
I’ve only watched someone play three houses (which was good) but because I watched that I know it’s in fódlan
Three Houses is one of the best games on the switch it’s up there with breath of the wild and Super Mario Odyssey
I’ve never played a Fire Emblem before last year but during the pandemic I bought Three Houses and eventually the 3DS games because I got instantly hooked. Looking forward to you playing this series!
Fire emblem is a very niche franchise. I’m glad you’re reacting to this!
Depends on what you mean by niche. It's around a 3 million seller now and Three Houses won the Player's Choice Award in 2019 at the VGAs.
It USED to be niche, but became one of Nintendos Main franchises years ago when the 3DS titles already became really successful.
*old man voice* Back in my day, finding someone else who'd played Fire Emblem was an event!
@@pallao3500 yeah, Awakening was basically the FF7 of the franchise. Not necessarily the best one, but the one which thrust it into the western mainstream.
@@pallao3500 RPG's are to sell in the West back then.
Just so you know, the first Fire Emblem game is only going to be available to purchase on the Switch until March 31st. So make sure to get it before then if you're interested in it.
IMO there are two epic rpg Nintendo IPs which make the ideal paring with Zelda fandom. One is Fire Emblem, and the other is Xenoblade. Between them, ample grand strong story driven games with serious themes and immense amounts of content.
Also, be warned, Three Houses is basically 4 games in one game and a full playthrough of each of the routes plus the expansion can easily pull 400 hours.
400 hours is stretching it a bit much, over 200 hours is a more reasonable average.
@@Felixr2 Well, I don't go completionist on rpgs but I do tend to get sucked in and do quite a bit of side content. Plus I'm a bit of a micromanager.
@@badlatency9979 Still, 400 hours is impressive for 4 playthroughs
Fun fact:
The very first fire emblem content the West got was Roy and Marth in smash bros. Practically no one knew who they were or what games they were from, but smash bros’ popularity generated huge interest in the franchise. The first fire emblem game the west would get localized was simply titled “fire emblem” and was for the game boy advance and released in 2003. However, that game was technically the 7th game in the franchise. It’s only as of VERY recently that the west has gotten remakes or ports of almost every fire emblem game now. The only ones that are not localized in any official capacity are:
Fire emblem mystery of the emblem
Fire emblem: genealogy of the holy war
Fire emblem: Thracia 776
Fire emblem: the binding blade
The first game, shadow dragon, was remade as a Nintendo DS title that was for many years the only way for western players to play a remade retelling of the original game.
Fire emblem gaiden was later remade into “fire emblem: shadows of Valentia” which was a 3DS title.
"wait... it's a mobile game!?" lmaoo
his face during that part was a face of "I've been betrayed"
Aside from Three Houses, I'd recommend also checking out Awakening and the Tellius Games (Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn).
I was literally playing a fire emblem game when I got this notification. Made me day.
Fire Emblem and Golden Sun was my childhood favorite games.... i can't believe some people missed out on them
OMG HE'S GETTING INTO FIRE EMBLEM TOO!?!?
35:08 Thats best girl Titania.
Petition for him to play three houses (golden deer would be awesome)
Tokyo Mirage Sessions is more akin to Persona than SMT, it's a more traditional turn-based RPG game in the vein of old Final Fantasy but with a modern day setting.
