RGPZ you hardly do any math at all. The register does it for you. All you have to do is count change... Also what kinda school doesn’t teach math? The only exceptions is if you live in a shitty third world country.
Dirty Dan school teaches math it's just some people aren't so good at it like others. take me for example I suck at adding and multiplying and adding 2 digit numbers for example like 54×72 I wouldn't know shit like that and it's not like you'll use this in a cash register lol but you get what I mean. my mother on the other hand is like a fucking mathematician lol. some people are just good at it.
Applied to many jobs the last 2 days. (looking for one asap) Some are cashier positions and some aren’t, hopefully I get a job where I don’t have to use the cash register. This shit look complicated asf.
This is very helpful, I just need more information to understand what I'm working with. Because there's a lot of Cashier jobs and I'm scared as shit to apply because I don't know how to do it and I get shy, scared, nervous and embarrassed and mentally freak out in my mind. Because nobody is Patient with me, let alone anyone nowadays.
I'm new here, Monday start as retail/sales assistants and as cashier if needed at Times The Bookshop. I feel nervous and excited but mostly nervous because it's my first time. the video is quite helpful. thank you so much for uploading this!
Thank you so much for your clear and concise video. This awesome video made everything easy to understand and going forward I will know exactly how to run the cash register. The video actually showed the same type of model that we used over the weekend when we volunteered to run the cash register for a non profit event. Unfortunately, we were instructed to key in the amount of the item on the right side key pad (that we now know should be used for departments), then hit subtotal, then immediately key in the exact amount of the item on the left hand key pad, then hit subtotal again. Finally, pressing total and then putting in the amount of the cash the person gave. You can imagine the incredible mess that this created as we were ringing up items on both sides, no one knew any different so it was a stressful day with the cash drawer opening over and over again, long lines forming and on and on. Thank you again, we totally understand what to do now!
We just got a really old register at work and it is confusing to me considering everything was done by a computer guided register. This is the only video I've found that took enough time to really explain it, thank you!
i work at this food place where instead of all numbers, on the side it has what people order for example "2 burritos" you press that key (burrito) and it gives you the price of it. but whats complicated for me is when people order multiple things and apparently i have to press a few other keys and ugh i hate being a cashier.
You seem to be one of the only recent comments. Did you get the job? And if so how was your first day there. Was it different from the instructions on this video or was it exactly the same?
thank you for saving me so much time and trouble. time for the manuals to be written by the people with common sense! so much easier to understand with the video!
woow it’s easy but somebody told me the cashier is so hard i was scared that how i can do my job on the cashier but now i saw u r video i think it’s not hard
This would normally be simple, except for those people that give you a random number of coins or bills which you have to add up at the speed of lightning and input into the register. XD
Bless my cash register operations so that I do not make mistakes in them but actually so that they are successful and benefit both the customers and my employers.
I’m starting my first retail position this week I’m just wondering if this video would be accurate for Ardenes it’s the store I’m going to be working at.
The department buttons....like....when it said 1, does it mean one of the item. Like let's say I got a can of...idk beans and it 1.00, when u hit the 1st department, is that saying I got one of that item? Like in quantity?
A credit card transaction requires that you process the card using a separate POS (point of sale) system, like that black box you swipe or stick your chipped credit card in to when you, yourself, pay for something at the store. Once you have done that, and the debit or credit transaction has been approved, then you enter the totals in to your cash register the same way you would as if the customer were handing you cash.
I love to pay for an item, say it costs $11.31, and hand the cashier $22.06, then watch her stare at the money in her hand, look up at me like a deer in the headlights, then back at the money and say "You gave me too much". To which I reply "Just give me the change I have coming from what I gave you". Sometimes they press on and totally screw up my change, try to figure it out on paper, or just call for assistance. Either way, it just tickles me. I was able to figure out IN MY HEAD what I had to give the cashier to get $10.75 back, and she has to burn a life line to find out how much change I had coming. For those of you out there who stink at math, PRACTICE! figure it out! Don't be forced to pay a tutor to teach your kids basic addition and subtraction, chances are, your tutor will demand payment in cash just so they can screw you out of some!
I definitely recommend watching a UA-cam tutorial when programming this register ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUfV3__sR_Jf5SY4t3gDY4RnI5yDVWuFa but it really is fairly easy to follow along when you are doing so! After I did it once, I was able to go back and fix a few things and change a few things on my own without having to refer back to the video… Out of all the registers I have priced in a similar price bracket, in my opinion this one is the best.
I wish everyone good luck on their new jobs! U can do it!
Thank you! You too!
thank you!!!!
Thank you. All the best to you.
Lol i think we're all watching this video because we got a new job
Yup.
Alexandra Heinstein hell yeah

Yep
I'm applying for retail jobs for the first time ever, so this was a little helpful. Money makes me so nervous. :
Me too

RGPZ you hardly do any math at all. The register does it for you. All you have to do is count change... Also what kinda school doesn’t teach math? The only exceptions is if you live in a shitty third world country.

Tell me about it
This is the most quickest and easiest training on the cash register so far.
Am I the only one new to a job? Lol
Nope, I'm starting my first cashiering job this week!

Seeing almost everyone here is a little nervous with money I feel kind of relieved
i start tomorrow first time using a register
This is very helpful, I just need more information to understand what I'm working with.

Very helpful. As someone going to retail for the first time this was pretty informative.
Thank you this was the easiest tutorial I ever watched now I'm less nervous about the cashier job i just applied for
You seem to be one of the only recent comments. Did you get the job? And if so how was your first day there. Was it different from the instructions on this video or was it exactly the same?
@@nandortherelentless3151 it was actually different still a huge learning curve to it but I'm getting better
if anyone hands me an extra coin to make it “easier” i will self implode

This would normally be simple, except for those people that give you a random number of coins or bills which you have to add up at the speed of lightning and input into the register. XD
What if the price is 8.99 you don’t have to press the 00 anymore right?

I’m starting my first retail position this week I’m just wondering if this video would be accurate for Ardenes it’s the store I’m going to be working at.
Brandi Genaille given that this video is 9 years old I don’t think it will be as accurate with any store today
Best instructions
that was helpful.
Thanks :)
For my new job and I don't know how to use this 😂
Thank you..
Wait why do you have to put it into a department? What is it for? What does it do?
thx mate
Merry Christmas
My mom is making get a job so this helped.
The department buttons....like....when it said 1, does it mean one of the item. Like let's say I got a can of...idk beans and it 1.00, when u hit the 1st department, is that saying I got one of that item? Like in quantity?
Very easy you don't have to count anything
What’s the department? The amount that person buys of it?
What about taxes. In my state anything non grocery is taxed.
Thnk you.
Thanks
Quero saber o valor da maquina

and im just sitting here perplexed as fuck
Is this still the same in 2022
How do you input things like discounts or percentages off into the register to take off from the original price?

Hold up, so at the end of the video the total they have to pay is $20, so why would anyone pay that with $25?
For change ???
How to change the language Eds cashier machine
