Yes! Along with America Chavez. So far, we've only seen Kamala meet Kate Bishop. And I hope that when Ned and MJ remember Peter Parker, they will get to meet these other characters too. America Chavez was supposed to be in NWH originally. I hope we get to see these characters together for the next Avengers movies.
But other than those people, I hope we see Spider-Man with Star-Lord again. We barley got to see them geek out about stuff like Footloose. And just imagine them talking about that sort of stuff with Ant-Man. Peter Parker, Peter Quill, and Scott Lang would make a great trio talking about pop culture references and jamming to music.

As a fan of musical theater I was laughing a lot in the theaters during that scene 🤣
@@willpower8289 I know a lot of musical theater myself so I definitely should've gotten the reference when I first saw the movie, but unfortunately it went over my head.
The whole scene had me in utter stitches the entire time, and knowing the origin of the song definitely added to that. Really enjoyed that they used THAT as the backing for the whole sequence.

What I love most in the cat herding scene is the way Goose sits there next to the kitten and waits for them to swallow a person.
Parental encouragement/teaching win.
Yeah Goose is legit teaching the young cats to hunt, the motions are the same as regular cats teaching their young.
I like to think the dialogue between Goose and her baby goes something like this:
'Okay, kid... GET HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
Just a little reminder, the motto of this channel is "Because liking things is more fun than not liking things". Even if a film isnt great and does have many behind the scenes issues, there will still be things to like about it and those who do like it, and its better to have a positive space to enjoy things, than get angry about a film you can easily move on from, because it is sad to enjoy being annoyed, but fun to enjoy being happy.

You missed the best win of the fight with Kamala on the space elevator. Kamala disarms a Kree and gets their gun. There is a brief moment of "What the hell do I do now? OH" tosses it to Nick Fury. Who single hands it out of the air and starts kicking ass.
Kamala's gleeful nerdgasm overload is endearing and adorable 🥰😍
I love the double take Monica does when she first sees Carol's dress.

As someone who did NOT like the first Captain Marvel movie, I found this movie to be a vast improvement. Brie Larson was allowed to actually show some emotion here, her character was shown to have made a major mistake in the past that she has to overcome. I liked the dynamic between the 3 leads. Me and my friend went to see this fully expecting (and almost wanting) to hate it. and about 30 minutes in he leans over to me like “is it just me, or is this one actually pretty decent?” And i agreed, it was.
Twas the opposite for me. Enjoyed the first, expected the second to be better than what people were saying, didn't enjoy anything besides kamala and cats
You forget, she was literally trained to fight with no emotion in the first movie
But you know her being emotionless was the point of the first film right? For as long as she could remember she was taught, trained, and had it hammered into her that emotions are bad so if course she'd learn to be toneless and mission oriented. That was literally the point.

@@IAmHavok regardless of whether it made sense in context, it didn’t fit with the grand and operatic style that’s typical to comic book movies and the tone of the movie generally.
While I understand why it makes sense, it was a bad choice artistically (and inevitably a directing choice rather than an acting choice).
I loved the early fight scenes. A spectacular win for the choreography department!! Three sets, three actresses, all having to adjust locations and how they move because of the teleportations!!
Stunt doubles get a separate win for what they bring to the table as well!!
I agree. This movie was just *fun.* Not every MCU movie has to be super-heavy and super-plotty. Hell, I think the most underrated movie in the franchise is Ant-Man & The Wasp specifically because it's low-stakes and just wants to have a good time. Having one of these every now and then makes for a nice counterweight to the darker episodes.
Also I was laughing so hard at the Cats scene that I could barely breathe. No movie that makes me laugh like that is bad.

Antman and the wasp is so underrated. It's so much fun start to finish
They also did a good job at having serious scenes AND funny scenes (I also could barely breathe from the Cats scene), but not undercutting the serious with too much quipping which is something I've seen a few people get a bit tired of.
This film was so needlessly maligned; it's a fun ride the whole way through and the ensemble performances were so great. And that first entanglement fight sequence was amazing; brilliant cinematography, choreography and editing put together to make something feel kinetic and constantly moving.
I understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea (and honestly, not every film has to be), but the lengths to which some folks reeeeeeaaally went out of their way to bash this movie...like, go out and touch some grass my dudes? There's a plethora of other things in the world to get worked up over than a movie that wasn't necessarily made with you as part of their intended audience, just saying.
Yep, and that a lot of it was adult males bashing a movie aimed at young girls. You have to wonder what is wrong with them to get triggered by that.
I have no problem with the current MCU just as long as it doesn't disrespect the OGs!
I wanna add i love when the first fight scene where theyre changing places, the "inexperienced" heroes are always pitted against 2 people while captain marvel takes care of the endless hordes quite easily cause of her more experience fighting, and it also shows how powerful she is, yet letting the other heroes be helpful and compitent.
It sucks that the actors couldn't promote this. It was so much fun.

I disagree with that. This thing was delayed four times and they shouldn’t have released it after secret invasion as now we know the skrulls do have a home and they still have the thanos sanctuary farm planet that apparently carol never asked the avengers or rocket or nebula where those coordinates were. In fact the third time is when it should’ve been released or that secret invasion shouldn’t have been made. Because on its third delayed release it had as much time as it could before the strikes as its release date was slated in early February and then was delayed until July. In which no trailer was released nor did they ever promote it or show any footage until July 20th, 2023. And thanks to this movie Deadpool three didn’t have any promotion in which they waited until the Super Bowl. That is terrible marketing as it comes out in JUNE.

I jokingly used to call Carol a deadbeat mom and I'm genuinely glad that that's actually a plot point that gets addressed and is the backbone of this movie, even if they're still playing a bit coy about her relationship with Maria. Her closet is glass at this point, though
The Memory scene had me giggling like crazy the whole time.

I personally thought the movie was a fun one. It continued the threads of Captain Marvel and the two Disney Plus show while still being standalone enough you could watch it and enjoy it without it. it tells you their powers and everything in the movie
This is why I love this channel. I had less than no desire to see this movie and now, after watching this video, I kind of want to see it. I might not see it still, but I love the positivity that this channel radiates, it makes me feel better about movies as a whole.
I've had this happen a few times. There are some genres I have zero interest in, and no review is going to make me want to see them. But every now and then I randomly click on an EGA review and end up watching something that I'd had little interest in before. And I usually like it.
That's part of what makes this a fun channel:D.
If you have watched all/most MCU stuff it is definitely worth your time. It is fun, which not enough movies are anymore.
Happens to me a lot. I've watched the first few minutes of this review, and went to actually watch the movie before finishing the review, because I didn't want anything spoiled. Goose, Kamala, and her family were just an instant win for me.
May just be me but one of the best parts about this movie for me is just how much fun you can feel everyone had with this movie. The behind the scenes show the actors and actresses genuinely having fun and even hanging out on their downtime and it just shows in the movie. Also may just be me but me, my family and my partner didn’t watch Ms Marvel. My girlfriend didn’t even watch WandaVision yet we all still had a lot of fun and followed everything perfectly! Not to discourage seeing those shows but Hey just a fun tidbit
yeah, I hadn't seen Ms Marvel before watching this movie, and I still haven't seen WandaVision, and I felt like I was able to follow everything, too.

15:44 dont worry, thats not the case. majority chose not to buy tickets. because they *assumed* that they wont like it(or bad marketing, or tickect prices getting more and more inconvenient and they preferred to watch it at home). but its audience score will tell you, the majority of *those who actually did watch* did enjoy the movie.
and that is also why many reactors on youtube who watch this film actually enjoyed their time and many of them pointed out how the bias it received was unjust.
I think my only problem with the movie is composer Laura Karpman not using Pinar Toprak's Captain Marvel theme from the first movie, especially after her first MCU gig (2021's What If? Season 1) literally relied on her reusing past themes and motifs. Heck, even Alan Silvestri referenced Carol's theme during her entrance in Endgame's final battle (even if it's not on the soundtrack itself).

I feel sorry for Iman Vellani, since she entered the MCU during its decline. Her turn as Kamala was honestly the best part of the entire film.

I've been waiting for you to do this video for a while. I am one of those people who saw videos from other reactors hating this movie, but when I watched it myself, I didn't get why. I Love this movie!!! Like you said it wasn't a perfect movie, but I think most of the issues that people have with it are more to do with the studios making dumb decisions, rather than the movie itself. The cast all did a great job and made this a really fun time to watch in the cinema. Iman Vellani continues to proves that she is one of the best hires that Marvel has made recently, and the chemistry between all three leads was brilliant. Thank you Lee for adding your voice to all the commentary on this movie and proving that it is always better to like things rather than hate them. Keep it up!!! 😊

Most of the issues "people" have with it is men who are mad a movie was made for younger girls (this clearly seemed aimed at the group that loved Ms Marvel) and not for them. They can't like anything that's for anyone else.

Kamala's fangirling was the most relatable thing in this movie. loved the dynamic between the main trio.
Yeah, this was a good solid film, and it's a shame the only thing it's going to be remembered for is that it was the MCU's first real box office bomb. Because whatever the reasons it did bomb, the movie's quality had nothing to do with it.
This movie had one of the most innovative training montages ever put to film. Training montages are usually about showing us someone training to get stronger or more accurate. This one shows us showing these three learning how to be in sync. Just

Kate Bishop: If I had a nickel for every time I came back to my NY apartment to find an ominous, yet very friendly girl with an advanced skillset, who knew everything about me and called me by my full name, who then has a fun chat with me and becomes a BFF, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice right?
The success of this film was also hindered by the writer's and actor's strike, which like literally ended just before this film was released. So That's why there was no press tour/junket or any online or tv promotion for it besides the trailers
I believe Secret Invasion was supposed to be released AFTER The Marvels and would therefore take place after canonically.

Yeah, Covid really messed up the release dates and timelines of a lot of MCU movies. Secret Invasion coming out after The Marvels actually makes a lot more sense.

I was kinda hoping that the reason for Goose stealing all the furniture would be pointed out - she was using it to build her nest/s. Little cosy places to lay her eggs.
I was actually surprised about how much I enjoyed The Marvels. I think the only part that was a little weird for me was the musical planet but it still fit regardless. I wish I wouldn't have been talked out of watching it in theaters. It would've been a cool experience cause the cinematography was off the chain!
Lee sir. I beg you. Please do an EGA of Speed Racer. It's my favorite comfort movie and I feel like it's thrown aside as a silly kids movie when it's actually much more than that. 🙏 I'll give you all the schmeckles I possess if you do!
That movie did come out at the tail end of the strikes too, which completely cut down the marketing options.

Ms Marvel is my favorite MCU character full stop. This movie continues everything GREAT about that show and its characters. The MCU was built on strong character development and I feel like it's lost its way a bit. But the Ms Marvel arc flips that on its head and gives us that character depth again and it's AMAZING! I love it! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!

As a movie it was also better than Cats, but that’s a very low bar.
Man I've had Marvel burnout for so long, the last project I enjoyed was Loki, but I was so surprised that I really enjoyed this movie. It was just so fun and I found myself getting giddy along with Kamala every time something cool happened.
The fights and switching between the 3 mains was honestly some of the most interesting action we've had in what feels like forever. I laughed the enitre horror-flerken scene, half out of disbelief that what I was seeing, and the other half just absolutely loving it. If you had told me 10 years ago that we'd have a Marvel movie where a swarm of kittens ate an entire space station of agents, I would have laughed in your face. Now look where we are!
I had a lot of fun with this movie.

I have seen this a couple of times now.. It is not End Game, but fun none the less.
Kamala's family was easily one of the highlights of this movie. Sure, they were overbearing, but at the same time, you can tell it came from a place of love. Also, the scene with the Flerkins eating the SWORD agents was hysterical.
Also, SUPER hyped about that post credits scene!
I honestly like the Marvels and consider it an enjoyable movie. It fills in some of the missing gaps to what happened with Captain Marvel after the events of her movie while dealing with the issues between her and Monica and how Miss Marvel gets to meet her hero after the events of her series. Not to mention that what happened to the skrulls sets up the secret invasion series. Plus, more multiversal shenanigans. The Marvels were both a more entertaining movie and team.
I literally just finished this movie as I got the notification that this was posted. It was a really fun movie much like how I recommended Ms. Marvel (it's a fun show with a bunch of culture that I love). I think we need to remind ourselves that not every MCU movie even pre Endgame were amazing (no one bats 1000). Even the quote bad ones were at the very least enjoyable. This movie I feel slots itself cleanly in the middle of the pack. I am confident that Marvel will right the ship (especially their marketing because come on) and as was said we're probably not going to get anymore sequels from this trio which is unfortunate but they're definitely going to be involved somewhere. I am looking forward to Monica's story.
I liked it a lot, despite some pacing issues imo, as well as some wonky camera work at time. But considering it's the shortest MCU film and they got all this in? Exceptional work.
My wife & I went to The Marvels twice in theatres. Great action comedy with extra "cats".
I’m just happy it turned out to be a fun diversion, some of the marketing for it made it sound gloomy and depressing, so I didn’t know what to expect from it . Honestly, if it wasn’t for the change in tone of the trailers, I was willing to go see it in theaters.
It was a lot of fun in the theater and my three young daughters absolutely loved it. Lotta bad faith neckbeards out there souring the internet reception of the movie, regardless of its faults.

Suprisly your young daughters are not the taste makers for the world.. I'm glad they liked it but most likely that's becuase 1 they are square in the target audience for the movie and 2 the haven't seen much female led movies that was better to compare... I love this movie. It's easily a top ten MCU movie for me (maybe top 5?) and I've seen them ALL in theaters. Although it performed poorly in theaters, it was the number 1 stream when it hit Disney+ (not just #1 on Disney+ btw). Also, Goose licking himself was hysterical; I need to know who green-lit that.
Also, I liked the fact that Kamala used a scarf as a non lethal takedown weapon. She fought alongside soldiers, without becoming a killer, which is always an option.
ngl I was dying laughing when I saw the Flerkins running amok when this was in theaters while everyone else in the audience that was younger than me was scratching their heads all confused. 😂
This movie was great fun and Iman Vellani was outstanding. I also love movies that come in under two hours.
Like all superhero movies, it doesn't entirely make sense if you think about it too hard, but I don't watch superhero movies for realism.
Feel sad that Nia DaCosta got thrown under the bus for this when it was released during the strike and had to win viewers back after the disappointing Quantomania and Secret Invasion.

So, I heard the director took inspiration from FFVII for this final fight. Dar-Benn was Sephiroth, Carol Cloud, Monica Barrett, and I’m calling Kamala Tifa. If the director did take inspiration from there, it was beautiful.

It was actually a super fun movie that was breeze to watch. I actually thought it could have been a bit longer.
I did like introducing Capt Marvel via the drawings. That was a clever touch and it worked.
UA-cam channels like yours make me appreciate movies so much more than I already do. Even the ones that critics and many fans say suck because of politics or a certain actor. ❤

I really enjoyed this movie. My biggest complaint was that it wasn't long enough. Give it an extra 10-20 minutes of run time to show us the destruction of Hala, Carol & Monica's tension, and allow other moments to breathe, and this would easily be the one to beat. Outside of that, this movie was fun. It developed our characters. Most of all, ot has me hyped for what comes next!
Personally, I thought it was ok, Dar-Ben could have used more screen time and motivation, and the movie as a whole could have definitely been longer. But the movie got WAY too much hate, and ultimately, I still like it, especially in the wake of Madame Web.

Maybe frame it from Dar-Ben's point of view, so you could sympathize with her and Hala's plight in the present day (like Bruce Wayne witnessing Superman and Zod's brawl from the ground level in BvS). It would be an easy way to explain why she would hate Carol so much and would explain her present-day motives immediately.

Yeah, the hate was overblown for this movie. It was more Dark World level than Eternals.
Loved this film, genuinely think it's a great start for those Marvel fans who haven't caught up with the MCU the past couple years. I think a big issue was that people were convinced you needed to watch several shows to watch this, when the reality is you only really needed to watch Captain Marvel. It's doing great on Disney+ though, so that's good.

I'll level with ya lee I did not watch this movie in theaters, souly cause of marvel fatigue. That said i didn't think it deserved to bomb it looks fun and hey maybe I'll give it a shot now. Love the channel buddy, keep it up.❤
The only things I heard online about this movie were basically “women movie bad and unpopular” so I appreciate this video and I might even watch this now

Oh, "The Marvels"! A perfectly (and purr-fectly?) fine, even good, film that got the short end of the stick in its box-office -if that's a thing that matters to any other person than the House of the Mouse and creeps who parrot stuff about whatever "woke" means this week.
It had to do one thing only and it did it greatly: the chemistry and banter of our lovely protagonists. It had humor, it had heart, every one of them learned something from the other two.
It would be a Phase 2 film from the high shelves -and it still works as a fine chill Phase 4/5 film where we have a bit of fun and don't worry about the Multiverse Saga (for the most part).

Had so much fun with this one. Iman Vellani is the best and I really like how they gave Brie Larson more to do in this emotionally. The power switching is fun and well choreographed. The only actual issue I had with this is how this and Secret Invasion are supposed to be in the same universe and they just don't feel like they are. So there was a planet for the Skrulls after all? Where's Fury's wife? Noone referencing majority of the world hates Skrulls now? But I don't think any of those issues are with THIS movie, they are with Secret Invasion. A show that started so strong and then just lost me.
I didn't get a chance to see this in theaters but was honestly surprised how much I loved it when i finally did.
Also, with the new The Crow coming out, please do an EGA for the original!

This was a great movie wrapped in a very sub par plot. I thoroughly enjoyed the pacing, characters, action, but the nonsense plot and forgettable villain dragged it down for im sure is a lot of other people. I just hope we get to see these actors in a movie together again.
This is fair. If I had to argue, (I don’t and fully accept your opinion) I’d say that producers and writers are afraid to create a compelling villain when they already have to make sure 3 mains get enough screen time and development. I didn’t dislike Dar-Benn, but I agree there is a middle ground between Thanos level character building and like Kro from Eternals.

idk what do you mean by sub par plot. but dar-benn was definitely one of the better mcu villains. she had understandable motivations, she brough real struggles and stakes for the heroes and she restored her home by ruining the planets that her enemy call home. that is the type of poetic shits that usually badly written villains dont have.
if i have to point one real issue about her, that would be the actress. but over all she had more plus than minus.
I personally enjoyed this movie. Is it a remarkable accomplishment of cinema? No. Still, I had fun watching it, which is sometimes all I really want. (And the singing planet was based on a comic storyline, so keep in mind, these are comic book movies and comic books be like that.)
Was totally worth it for the bilingual joke alone.
There is so much to love in this movie. My main problem (though I admit I've only seen it once) was just that the structure feels bizarre. Feels like it jumps from mid-act 1 to late act 3.
I watched the movie when I was bored and sick., It was fun. Definitely not a best of all time but very enjoyable and some of the more character based emotional writing was nice. it's nice to see heros acting like real people/talking about their feelings. Wish some of the male characters would do that from time to time, lol.

i actually really enjoyed this movie. i was surprised given the negative press even before it came out, but i also really enjoyed the ms marvel show so it was a no brainer to go see it for me. sure fatigue is a thing, but thats no reason not to make good movies, they just have to be ok with not haveing every one of them breaking financial records... this one was for the fans, not the masses perhaps, that doesnt make it a bad movie, and it doesnt mean it shouldnt have been made. also dont listen to all those sexist trolls. super hero ladies are great! keep em coming!
We saw this at a private screening, so our mom came. She’s seen like five Marvel movies, so when Goose first ate that guy and then the couch, she had no idea what was happening. And that certainly didn’t help the flerkitten stampede scene. Hilarious nonetheless
I watched this movie a little while ago, not in cinema as I'd intended to.
But it was better than I'd feared after the reviews from people calling it mid-tier.
I'm honestly excited for Monica/Cpt. Trouble's adventures going forward.
Mostly because I'm curious what Disney's gonna do with that IP of theirs.
I really appreciate these videos. I liked this movie, and it's hard to not get weighed down by all the negativity.
Watched this twice in the theater. Once with my wife and once with my sister, bro-in-law, and nephews. Very enjoyable both times. It is not my favorite MCU movie of all time, but even among the MCU, I think it is average to just above. That means in the set of all superhero movies, it is WAY solid. All three characters are excellent and who you relate best to probably has more to do with your age than anything. (I, a gen-X, relate best to Carol, while my teen / tween nephews were HELLA into Kamala) So while it isn't perfect, no one is asking Quantumania to justify itself like this has been scrutinized. And having seen both, and Q wasn't bad, I would MUCH rather re-watch this. Thanks EGA!
I loved this movie ^_^ I laughed a lot. Glad I got to see more of Captain Marvel's personality which I felt was missing in the previous ones. They did an awesome job, 🌠
