@KevinTalbotTV you may use dumborc X6YCG receiver instead of X6FG. X6YCG receiver have failsafe feature for gas and nitro engines where as X6FG is for electric cars and dont have a failsafe.
Quick question if heat removes thread lock was there any point in thread locking the exhaust bolts instead of using spring washers?

It's great fun. Gets you outdoors and active too. I met my current girlfriend because I was driving around in a park and her son wanted to see it so it's a 10/10 hobby as far as I'm concerned.

I really like the indestructible body panels on the cheap one, the single piece thin cheap plastic bodies on other rc’s are just junk 👍

This is a great video. It shows you can have a lot fun. You don't have to have the most expensive truck. Both trucks were fun and you didn't have big biggest and baddest motor. I have found here in the U.S. you can buy that same truck with a 29cc motor, servos, pipe, and receiver pack for under $1,100.00. It is very tempting. Thanks for sharing. This a very useful review.

Hey kev, the reason your receiver was cutting in and out was because you were holding the remote too close to the receiver. I had the same issue with my dumbo. The remote just can’t be close to the receiver that’s all.

I have a Losi, but am gonna buy a 30° north truck next, they are awesome....this is one of those times that you don't always get what you pay for, the Losi is great, but so is the 30° North!!!! For a lot less $$$....💯
On a 2 stroke engine. The more oil in the mix, the better the ring seal and the better compression and protection the engine will have. Up to 16:1 anyway. Of course you have to rejet for that as well.

I've also had that same issue DumboRC receivers and transmitters....one might have gone bad. I've moved over to cheap option Radiolink rc4gs can do 30 models memory so you don't have to reset every time, cheap $10 receivers and $17 if you want Waterproof, and same parent company/Tec of DumboRC but better!

You can prevent the receiver “brown out” in the future by running a capacitor plugged into the receiver, commonly found rc item

Hey Kevin I know you’ve had good experiences with the dumbo but I would really recommend something like a radio link rc6gs there much more responsive have more settings and are much better quality I had the dumbo cause a electric rc have a runaway and blew up vintage esc and motor really horrible quality and just honestly not great I mean I’d rather have quality over price and the rc6gs is still a pretty cheap control with great range and are much better than dumbos also backed by a company that is know for making great transmitters

I started my rc journey with 5th scale petrol. Had two losi 5T then moved to racing. MCD RR5 ultimate. You should get the buggy or stadium truck on the channel. Work of art. I noted your mate ran the road car ultimate in rally form in a car park.

Got my 5ive t about 5 months ago... 2 problems right from the start ... skeptrum receiver was faulty.. all functions worked but wouldn't steer 100% to the left ... then problem 2 was steering servo screw wouldn't stay tight .. tighten twice then 3rd time with some blue loctite .. been good ever since.. i definitely like that 75k steering servo you have so im going to get one ... only 1 other problem ive had is small gravel getting stuck in the knuckles and or the steering saver and would lock up while driving losi.. other than that Kev this thing RIPPS!!

Thanks for this video, I have been back forth about should get the 30 degree north 5ive t clone or the real Losi 5ive T 2.0 version. I'm not sure which one i should go with since the 30DN is cheaper and i watched Thunder RC's videos on his version and the 30DN is one of the strongest RC's he has.
His electric version is tough very very tough. I did watch one go on bay for 650 last week already converted so they are out there
@@davejohnson3474 Yeah his electric one was very very tough and is why i'm interested in the 30DNT. And you found an electric converted 5t clone for 650? Wow i'm jealous of whoever bought it. Even though i don't plan on buying mine until next year if i get the clone or until 2025 if i get the official Losi truck.

@@davejohnson3474 I think he uses either Rovan XLT wheels and tires or Pro-Line MX57 tires with raid wheels. I'm going to keep the stock short course style tires on mine when i get it.

Wow 37mph that's fast for a trophy truck that big with that big of a motor seems like the suspension needs a little more travel about 3MM more for that no bounds landing But outside of that mighty good work sir Mighty good 👍

It’s not double wishbone suspension, it’s a single lower wishbone with a camber link…big difference

With zenoha would just make an engine with what I would say is the most modern porting. Every one of my zenoha piston port engines I copped what yamaha did back in 1973. In 1972 their r350 was a piston port engine. And in 73 they added reeds and cut holes in the skirts of the pistons. I have done this with over a dozen engines. No failures to date and better tourqe and higher rpm. Wakes the motor right up!! And when 2 extra ports are added, even better. Not sure true HP numbers but way better than stock in top speed and zero to top speed.
Honestly, it would not be that hard or less reliable if zenoha updated their ports.

You should do RC cars under $200. Love your channel some of the stuff is a tad expensive however. I would love to see some R c's under $200. Not just the super cheap but the mid level stuff

Doesn't the esc normally provide the power (through the receiver) the power to the servo's?
yes but most rc's have much smaller sized servos that draw far less current but most receivers can handle them fine, i think its the cheap dumbo receiver that cant

LOSI is a great rig! but i have to say i used to love the HPI 5SC 2wd better... only because you really had to drive the 5SC, the LOSI 5 drove itself! haha

hi kev, could you review the hsp backwash? its pretty cheap but its a good little nitro buggy, although if you go over a ramp at full throttle the wheel can break off.

The dumbo reciever can only output up to 8 volts to a servo. That one may be a bit power hungry. Spektrum can do 12 volts. My dx6 does anyway.
