I personally loved the Battle Subway and it's bosses. I always thought it was cool that didn't have legendary Pokemon. They were just really strong trainers and I really liked that
It's very similar to the Tower with all of the formats, so if you like Tower you'll like Maison. If you like gimmicks you'll miss having the other Facilities.
The Johto starters from XD had their special elemental hyper move. Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, and Frenzy Plant. I think its the only way for them to have the move before being fully evolved.
Its the ONLY way for them to have those moves. As Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, and Frenzy Plant is ONLY for the Kanto Starters in Gen 3, the other Starters got to learn those moves in Gen 4.
There will be an unknown battle challenge in the upcomming CrownTundra expansion. Even the uniforms gave me a battle frontier vibe. Finger cross for an overdue battle frontier.
The Battle Palace was the first place I won a Frontier Medal from. Wasn't trying to be competitive it was just my regualr team and I LOVE the concept behind the Palace. The idea of using your bond with your pokemon to communicate without words is fire. But it can also be frustrating in practice. It just has a special place in my heart.
Hard disagree on the battle mason. Partially salty about it in oras, but I think it lacks the appeal of a tower you must get to the top of. I will say that the chatelaines are hot.
Also, THANK GOD Pokemon Masters has given Thorton the spotlight after he and everyone else but Caitlin and Palmer got the shaft and never appeared in the anime
I was never a big fan of the Battle Frontier style facilities. I was never interested in finding a greater challenge and it just seemed like too much work for to little reward. I only started liking them when they got to X and Y. Unpopular opinion for such, but that's just how I feel.
I remembered the Battle Frontiers and I did enjoyed/liked the idea back in the day (though I've only ever battled Lucy in Emerald. I did however managed to beat all the Frontier Brians at least once in Platinum/Soul Silver and others in later games when I had more experience with EV trained Pokemon). I agree that I don't like the idea of Pokemon battling by themselves in the Battle Palace and I prefer using my own Pokemon over rental Pokemon. I think I liked the Battle Hall best. Liked the Battle Masion too. I've heard that they did not make a return to the Hoenn remakes because people didn't like extra challenges and it apparently only appealed to a small number of players according to an interview with Junichi Masuda yet I have seen other people suggesting otherwise. Looking back, I guess that the main problem was the grinding for Battle Points with some prizes are expensive (especially in Heart Gold and Soul Silver) and the frustration of restarting if you lose. Whilst later games may not have Battle Frontiers, I liked on how they make grinding for Battle Points more manageable starting with the Battle Maison by getting BP after each battle you won and having the option to take a break (as well as having prizes that are generally less expensive). I wouldn't mind Battle Frontiers to make a return or at least have more battle facilities while retaining the BP mechanic as of X and Y.
In your honorable mentions you forgot Kalos' Battle Chateau! I think I like the Pike a lot, but I've never been good at any of them. I still have emerald but I don't think I've done much. I hope we get more Frontier brains in Pokémon Masters! How about you do a Top Ten Sync Pairs you want to see in Pokémon Masters? Not a lot of those videos out there...
I like it as well. My only complaints are that the cpu don’t often Dynamax their Pokémon. I’ve done around 200 battles, and only encountered 1 trainer who had a Dynamax ban, and they didn’t even get to use it because I beat their whole team. I also wish you could choose Hop or someone to team up with like how you can choose Lillie to help you with the battle Tres in USUM
It was in taking on different battle facilities that I realised the battling wasn't why I was into Pokemon. It's fascinating watching people's strategies and listening them talk about their different experiences in different types of facilities with such passion. Like in this video! Me? I'm bored after max 20 fights in a row... the white tree hollow in White 2 is the only one I've actually completed without wanting to go do something else midway.
One of the best parts of the Battle Frontier arc of the anime was Carter and Michele really having Team Rocket down pat right away when they took over the roles. I can even say the same for Bill Rogers as Brock. I can’t for Sarah as Ash but it just took her a little longer (by the time of the DP Tag Battle arc), but Team Rocket was perfect right from the start
I’m super into Pokémon but only for the world lore of Pokémon as well as the relationships you can form with Pokémon, and although I like battling (correction; I like *winning* battles, but that’s besides the point) it’s not my favorite thing and if I could play a Pokémon game where I didn’t have to be a trainer taking on the league challenge I definitely wouldn’t be a trainer. I wish there was a Pokémon game where you could explore different options, like a game where you study under all the professors of all the regions learning how to become a professor, or a game where you train your Pokémon for contests, since in the world of Pokémon there are trainers who exclusively do contests.
In Pokémon Colosseum. There were different types of Mount Battle challenges, depending on whether you were in the story (The one were your Pokémon could level up) and the special modes outside the main game (Locked levels in single or double battles). The version in the main story mode was not were you got Ho-oh. Only by beating the locked level challenge all 100 battles in a row got you Ho-oh.
In the manga it explained that Spencer touched the red or blue orb? And then Kyogre tormented him but he gained the ability to see others who also touched the orb
Since the Chatelaines have SUPER obvious UK accents/mannerisms in their dialogues (oddly they aren't the same despite being sisters; there's North and South accents among them), I made a video a while back theorizing that they spent time, maybe for school, in the then-unrevealed Galar region, and I used that to predict gen 8 with success. This was around the time Sun and Moon was hinting UK in the anime a bit. Of course the sisters outright say they were born and raised in Hoenn amd live in Kalos more now, but I still think they went to school in Galar and got their accents and mannerisms. (The Hoenn Maison is the true original but because the Kalos Maison is more popular, the Hoenn one is honorarily called a "replica" which is annoying. In fact, they plan on giving ownership of the Hoenn one to the player until the Battle Tower is built.)
What about the Orre Colosseum? That was freaking awesome and had lots of cool characters. It also makes mention to a part of the plot where Eldes promises you'll meet and fight on friendlier terms.
You will need a lot of strong synch pairs for battle villa however the good news is your starting pikachu with synch grid potion master and rosa Serperior both early game mons are super useful. And the free mew as well. Battle tree was great because it was not a serious in it's a.i. using broken strategies to wipe your streak. Instead you would be introduced to an array of matchups and battle strategies or gimmicks you may encounter as you transfer into competetive.
I've always avoided the battle facilities from all my games, thinking there was no way they were for players like me. But this video makes me want to pick up my old games, dust off my old teams and give these facilities a go.
@Proton Gengar oh yeah obviously but I love that it usually means toby does cool videos centered around pokemon characters aaaand I hope dena continue sponsoring toby :)

Black and white 2 has a battle tree but I don't know if that counts as a battle frontier but for me was it really challenging and I think it had a interesting twist to it

The bitterness I've felt toward Ash is how his frontier experience is NOTHING like the real Battle Frontier. It would have been a nice change to the formula
The chatelaines are not that terrifying in fact they're far from terrifying. Evelyn is shy. Nita only cares about having fun in a battle than strategy. Morgan looks like a perfect definition of a Slytherin (heck she's wearing green to top it off) and Dana isn't that intimidating

If they had some mix like Raikou, Regirock, and Azelf that would be fine, but how they building Teams is mega lame.
I need a ds and pokemon emerald again. Its been years
The bitterness I've felt toward Ash is how his frontier experience is NOTHING like the real Battle Frontier.
Which of the 4 battle chatelaines do you like the most or is your favorite?
@@cordovaman335 I like all of them design and personality wise
Their teams...
Wait what’s the battle agency?😂
