THANKS FOR COMMENTING!
What a voice and what a talent! RIP Laura.
Laura died in her sleep at her mother's home less than two years after this video was made. RIP sweet lady and voice.
That's really sad
@Aran Rasekhi ...And?
...and more than a decade later, Gloria would become an unofficial anthem to a city. Sad that Laura was not around to see it.
IIRC she was complaining of headaches for some time before that and died of an Aneurysm...
Jimmy Bergman
Good gravy.
Self control was a incredible song.
I jam the hell out of self control
+TheGodParticle yes
it has so many layers of interpretation... it's a gret song indeed
I agree.
100% agreed.
She seemed to be a very sweet person. Just the fact she took care of her dying husband shows great character and love for people. it is sad she died so young.
jean forichon I was thinking that too, shes a really nice person.
jean forichon So true, but why wouldn't she care for her sick husband if she was able?
Tom S Sick elderly Mom, dying husband, raising children - all that made her realize what is important in life and never looked back. Fame never got to her. She had her priorities right.
Tom S Wow. Lucky you !!!!
She ran her own website before she passed...having had a couple of my messages answered by her..I can confirm..she was a sweetheart
She was such a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice and soul. Rest in paradise
Ray Williams she ripped off songs by talented artists. Please don’t judge her off looks
@@wifflewizz No tenía el consentimiento de esos artistas para interpretar esas canciones?
@@wifflewizz she made them better tho? So she was original in a way. I'm not into her looks but She sang great rip laura branigan
What songs did she "rip off" ?
@@nolimitscostablanca hey search up umberto tozzi gloria. Theres a couple more but I would have to look for them. Idk but I like lauras versions better. Maybe because I listened to them first idk
fantastic talent and a beautifull lady! RIP laura
I Love Laura Branigan...
She was a beautiful woman
with a beautiful voice.
Rest in peace, love and paradise Laura 😢 ❤
It's really funny seeing her relaxing on the couch in house shorts with her mom and then belting out "Gloria" as loud and
clear as a trumpet blast.
Truly one of the best voices of all time,! Rip songbird, your beautiful voice is missed
Would have turned 68 yesterday, happy birthday!
One of the best singers out of the eighties. I still love you Laura! Rest in peace.
She seems down-to-earth and classy, unlike so many in the business I could mention.
She. Is greatly missed.
An incredible voice.
I am glad they published this. She was a great singer and a great human to sacrifice popularity to take care of her sick husband. May she be remembered for the joy she brought to those of us who danced in the 80's.
She was one of the greats from a golden era, I deeply miss her
Yes she was RIP and that era will never be repeated but we still have there songs long live Gloria
She was always so beautiful. RIP Laura :(
Very very sadly missed 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
God Bless Laura Branigan. May God be with her Forever !!!
She reminds me of Celine, not only vocally (in terms of key only, not in terms of tone/ colour of voice or emotive quality) but also in term of her love for the simpler things in life and her love for her family and close friends. She wasn't a diva going to parties or demanding special treatments. She was so incredibly humble and that made her so special I think.
I'm watching it in 2016.
So sad about Lauras's death. :(
Great voice...
...may our hearts be with you.
R.I.P.
Yeah, died so young.
@@youbestbequiet Hi there did she have any kids in her life?
Isn
at 2019
@@adape0884frank unfortunately, she didnt have children...
Until reading these posts I never realised Laura had died. RIP And thanks for the hours and hours of listening to your music.
God bless you! Laura Branigan was a special soul. When she sang, everyone else wanted to sing. I miss you, Laura Branigan. I named my daughter after you.
A talented and beautiful woman taken way too soon. R.I.P.
LAURA BRANIGAN was a very good singer and a beautiful girl !!!!! R.I.P. LAURA !!!!!!
So sad that we lost her before she could make her comeback dream come true.
Your hit song Gloria is helping the St Louis Blues this year...in the Cup Finals for the first time in 49 years.
They were in last place Jan 3, got a new coach, and played Gloria in the locker room after each win. Now on the verge of the Stanley Cup!
Thank you Laura! LETS GO BLUES! Play Gloria boys.
u did go up in my book....up to heaven,,,to sing with the rest of the angels,,,love you....such great talent,,,,and geogeous voice,,,,R.I.P.LAURA....
Her voice was incredible!!!
She is so missed. An amazing vocalist and wonderful person. I was lucky to have met her a few yrs. before her untimely passing. Her music lives on, never to be forgotten.
Hard to believe that roughly 2 years later, she would die in her sleep at age 92. She was one of the greatest vocalists of all time.
Born: July 3, 1952, New York; Died: August 26, 2004, 52 years of age.
in sleep poor Laura when she opened her eyes in grave she definitely weep a lot and showked off .. pity her
I think she was 52 .....check ur sources
She was reported as 47 when she died but over a decade later it was revealed she did what most people in Hollywood do, lie about their age. She was actually five years older. Some reporter dug up old school records to confirm it.
She died at 52.
I loved her sound. I loved her voice. So sad that she left the music business to take care of her sick husband and then he died. Then she died. So tragic. I miss her.
Terrence Ragin wasn't it to take care of her sick mother? Anyways it's really sad. I hate cancer
Laura R.I.P. singing for the angels now 🧡
RIP Laura.thanks for your music.
RIP Laura, we miss your unique talent!!
She was such a beautiful lady Blessed with such a unique voice. I hope you're singing with Angels now. I occasionally come back to this video because that little giggle at the end is so sweet! You're such a beauty with such class!
ryans2kidz
Fell in love with that voice on an early single, "All Night with Me" and played it at KFTW. Atlantic sent me a copy of the LP, and I fell in love all over again. By the way, that 1990 'unknown', self-titled LP, produced what might be my favorite song of hers, "Never in a Million Years". That song still stops me today, and not just because she's gone. Stayed that way; still in love today. Be at rest, Laura, knowing we do love you.
Total package!!
Gifted with pretty face, fragile physique and distinctive voice!!
I was so in love with this woman since I Waz in my elementary years!
My elder sister used to sing her songs as part of her repertoire as a local artist band vocalist in our town that's how I've got into it!!
I love you and miss you so much Laura!!
I'd just stumbled Abt ur demised and I was sooo Soo saddened!!rest in paradise my love!
Man, I had a crush on her, she seemed so sweet and real.
This video was surreal. The ladder she speaks of was at my father's home in upstate New York. They were dating at the time. I am probably one of the few people that have a copy of that new album. She gave it to me before it was released. Due to her passing it was never released. R.I.P. Laura.
Wow. thats very surreal. Do you ever think you'll upload that album to UA-cam or just keep it as a family secret?
OMG you have to tell us more info, I am dying to know about her dating your father!!
your story needs dragons or chuck norris.
Simone .. wow sounds amazing xx .... You extremely lucky to have known her before she passed away, this is a priceless life time !!!
which Italian cover songs are on it?
A talented girl......who seemed to be down to earth. After all when do we see a singer relaxing in home clothes, sitting with mom on a couch belting out a line to a song out of nowhere.....GLORIA...and mom is as proud as can be. I also love her laugh. May she RIP and the music world lost another great artist.
+DG Hughes sitting with mom? i see a kid beside her at 3:07 , anyone else??
I think she was greatly underappreciated and greatly underutilized, one of the best female singers of all time
It's sad we no longer see female talent in the music scene like hers anymore . . .
It's that "Hard work pays off later, laziness pays off now" attitude.
You're right there, she's not.
Billie Eilish
@@nitishaggarwal3739 . . . Just tried a couple of her UA-cams. She would have made an ok lounge singer back in the day I suppose but no power singer for sure.
@@YManCyberDude She is on trend nowadays, most importantly she is 19 , I think she is doing brilliantly at this age
I was 3 when " Gloria" ....my mom used to repeat this song on the record player while cleaning the house here in the Dominican Republic...even our neighbors were enjoying it my mama told me...the 80's were awewsome! R.I.P. Laura Branigan... te queremos siempre de corazón!
Sad that she would be gone two short years later. Rest In Peace beautiful lady. 🌹
Some people made their mark, Laura made hers, how music changes when the stars that shone suddenly disappear. All we can do now is re live those times in our hearts and minds and never forget those who left us with happy memories.
Laura is one of the greats, with full self control. Thanks for the music. Never gone, always played and a star still shines.
Amazing artist, amazing wife...rest in peace.
You forgot "amazing daughter"! She was caring for her Mom when she died. Definitely one of the special ones.
Rip Laura. You are missed
Oh Laura, you'll never know how much joy and pleasure your music brought me. Some of the happiest nights of my life were spent dancing to your music. I bought everything you released here in the UK, and always felt your record company didn't do enough to promote your singles (The Lucky One & Spanish Eddie, for example) and back you as an artist - shame on you Atlantic records. I'll be a Laura fan till i take my last breath. R.I.P beautiful lady.
A STAR BURNS BRITE THEN THEY ARE GONE! BUT FOR THE MOMENT SHE LIT UP OUR WORLD AS NO ELSE CAN. THANK YOU GOD FOR SENDING HER TO US IF ONLY FOR A MOMENT IN TIME. LOVE YOU LAURA ALWAYS
You left us something great and timeless. You will never be forgotten.
a REAL WOMAN... to give up her carrier for her husband... man i admire such a lady
Yeah we need more people like these.
She's an exception to the rule
P
user 192 he’s saying he admired a woman who put her family before her career. Does - does he have to say it again ?
side2 Side There are no ladies like that anymore
Unforgettable, no one like her. Will always love her.
Her a capella bits of "Gloria" she casually busts out are incredible - and such a contrast from her soft speaking voice!
Her songs made me very happy...love her
No one filled your shoes Beauty be sure of that.✰✰✰✰✰ world def is NOT the same without ur magnificent Soul, voice and smile.RIP Laura Darlin' love ya.♡
How true. They say Only the good die young. Laura had heart, passion and a light that you could feel and see. Her concerts were so electric and she was not just a star. She was down to earth. We lost a great one. I to this day still listen to her. She is on my ipod and i take her everywhere i go in the car and on my walks and to stores or wherever. Goodbye Laura. But not forgotten.
I listen and dance to Laura Branigan's music forever she lives in our hearts.. 😍💕🔊🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I love her, very much I listen to her songs over and every single day R.I .P Laura you will always be in my heart ❤️ forever.
Missing her that much and her music and singing! She was lovely soul and talent!
I used to admire her voice in Gloria in 80's but never knew who was branigan ,so beautiful and died so young in 2004.
Laura had a powerful voice, charisma and the end showed us wisdom ,Never look back ,always looking forward to reach up there! God Bless you!
Laura...you were amazing and your legacy will live forever.
"Never look back" ... Wow after all her tragedies ... How *stronger* can someone ever be ?!?!
What a beautiful person she was, I will always be in love with her.
rip laura i loved listening to ur songs when i was playing the gta vice city games
She lived a sometimes tragic, but great life
A BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND BEAUTIFUL MUSIC WILL LIVE ETERNALLY.
I still miss Laura Branigan so much!!! RIP!!!
Sad she died so young.
Que pena saber que nos dejó muy joven. Linda su música. Hermosísima mujer. La recordaré por siempre.
I'm moved by how much wisdom passed forth from the departed Laura Branigan's lips.
i love you laura
It's not where she played, her age ,or anything in the sorts!! So she played at a carnival....,,, I can say this at least she lived her dream up till the night she fell asleep on August 25 to never wake up on the 26th... she had guts and a voice for a woman who believed in her style of music.. some of these comments make me sick just by how people respond or comment,, let's see some accomplish what she did in her life.... SORRY but IT WAS her passion!
Her spirit was taken to heaven while she slept...everthing about her was so out of this world...celestial that is.
She was a very rare and extremely talented vocalist. She had a decent soul also
Até hoje não me conformo que essa muller, cantora maravillosa nos deixou...! Eterna laura amaremos voce para sempre...!
I loved Laura Branigan, and was very saddened by her sudden death. She had great hits in the 80's. I will always remember her wonderful voice. Loved to sing to "Gloria" and "Self-Control."
RIP to one of the greatest...and a good woman.
even when she got reduced to just performin at the park or somethin, man what a voice still!
I knew It! Gloria totally sounded like a song from Italy.
RIP Laura. The more I learn about you the more I'm amazed by you.
DIVA... DIVA... DIVA... NO MATTER WHAT... everybody has problems but this lady will always be a DIVA...
We all love u Laura!
Big Heart's Laura .. Never look back!
I love your songs and energy Laud Branagin
I just loved her so much!!!! Gloria was the ultimate song for those of us coming of age in that era. Gay or Straight, we danced to Gloria and will always remember that time in our lives thanks to Laura B. We loved you darlin and will never forget you :)
Loved her version of "Power of Love"...
it's a shame she passed away only 4 years after this footage was shot and 2006 we lost a marvelous entertainer. RIP, you beauty. We all who grew up with you miss you dearly.
I agree, so tragic. By the way, Laura died in 2004. But Gloria never will....
Indeed even worst, 2 years later in her sleep :(
Miss her so much. A real WOMAN ! Class,Cute and awesome singer. RIP Laura
She is in my heart..
Inesquecível Laura Branigan eu era e sou Fã dela até hoje sempre escuto a música dela pra matar a saudade da minha infância .💞

Wonderful voice .
She was such a pure soul that related to regular people and not stuck up and such a voice so sad she is gone. May Laura and the other angels watch over her children.
