I've been playing EVE Online on and off since about 2005. Gun types, ammo types and optimal ranges is beginner level stuff for sure, wait until you start learning about Transversal Velocity, Tracking Speed, Signature Radius, Signal Strength, Missile Explosion Velocity and Radius. All of these also affect how effective your weapons are. Many a Battleship has been laid low by a determined Wolf Pack fleet of frigates because it got caught in Low Sec or Null Sec space and couldn't hit the frigates because the guns can't track them fast enough. Eve is a beautifully complicated interlocking of mechanics, it would be perfect if not for all the asshole who play that just want to steal your shit all the time.
@@Renfail not always. Even in High Sec space you will find people willing to suicide themselves to destroy your ship and steal the cargo that survives the encounter... this is one of the reasons I am not actively playing EVE - even though I have enough PLEX saved up to pay for Omega on 2 accounts for a month, I currently just don't want to.
I "restarted" yesterday as well but i have only played like a few hours many years ago. But the new AIR career agents and the 5 "paths" you can choose to go down for a more guided start has been really great so far for me to not feel completely lost and overwhelmed, even though it probably isn't the most effective route i just did all 5 agents to learn about mining/probes/manufacturing/combat/fitting different ships etc. Have been a great experience so far for free! They also just gave me 7 days omega because of the new patch i think :)

Thanks, I'm 1 day in and was really confused on the combat mechanics and you cleared up a bunch of questions I had.....great video
Glad to hear it!
Literally the Best Video/Tutorial about what to look out for, what to do and how in Eve Online. Period.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Regards
You're very welcome!
My third day playing, thank you for this!
Have fun!
Don't use autopilot to jump from system to system. It will drop you much farther from the gates, making you slow and vulnerable.
Don't care.
Cheers good advice!!
Any time!
Great vid found ur channel as looking to start eve myself your vids been very useful so far thanks
Glad to hear it! I'm enjoying putting out some newbie content as it helps me and others!
You can hit 'open cargo' right away, it will initiate the approach.
Ahh groovy!

Thankfully you can avoid :)

@@fornavnefternavn208 it's a great starting point
Yeh i think i might do the same thing. cheers@@fornavnefternavn208
How do you have your ship offset to what you're targeting? My ship always ends up directly over what I'm targeting?
set the orbital distance and only orbit, not fly direct
I use to be a deep space miner, but always got stolen from or blown up
Doesn't appear to be an issue these days from what I've seen.
Shield hardeners need to get activated to work.
kewl
One of the best Eve vids I have seen. Very well explained. Thanks!
thanks!
