- I reuploaded this video because I got the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the opposite places. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Note* It is true the Hebrew word for headwaters mostly refers to the head of something, but the root word has so many meanings from head, chief, ends, divisions, companies, top, ridge, best, etc.
biblehub.com/h...
Needless to say, but the Hebrew is not necessarily referring to a place where one river splits to form 4 but can be referring to the reverse. The same can be seen with the word yatsa. It can mean to go out or came out: biblehub.com/h...

One crucial bit of information to consider; Eden was an antediluvian location. Man in post-flood times saw rivers that resembled the tigris and eurphrates rivers from before the flood and named them accordingly.
For real, I was just thinking, why do they think the current Tigris and Euphrates are the same ones?? I mean it's possible because anything is possible, but why are we all just assuming this is fact?
The same way we have a few cities in the US named Moscow it's just people naming it after famous people and things
A little odd
I get it if it was just one of the rivers, but BOTH rivers??
The bible authors don't wanna confuse people now, do they?
Keep in mind that the first five books were written by Moses. So Moses named it right
A vegan paradise never existed. Nor did Adam or Eve. Humanity wasn't thrown out of Eden directly into agriculture with it's domestication of animals. A worldwide flood that rose above mountains never happened. Virgins don't get pregnant. Humans do not walk on water, and Jesus didn't know a trick called resurrection, unless it was a trick indeed, and the bold result of a conspiracy in which maybe even Pilatus was involved. That's what we call common sense. But please: feel absolutely free to enjoy your god and afterlife. Just if you can show me a soul without a brain and body.
Your unbiased dispassionate analysis of the text and the available Archaeology is truly refreshing thank you my friend and to be honest I'm also kind of fond of you cuz you don't seem to think that old Jews were making everything up constantly and that's a refreshing change for me
Even though I have already brought this post, I think it is necessary to make a reminder of the importance of the Biblicon study. God has given us the safest Prophetic Word and the Tool of the Holy Spirit for interpretation. Today we can see that the stories of the Bible are verifiable through history, archaeology and the sciences, let's make good use of them. GOD bless all of you. Amen.
And yet we have yet to actually SEE any of your evidence! None whatsoever. Outside of Jerusalem, there’s no proof of anything. None!
That is why the Bible described the two rivers in a past tense; flowed, which means the rivers certainly flowed but were no longer there at the time God inspired the message of Eden. I'm currently working on a video about the garden of eden and the next few weeks I will making some great videos about the Eden!

We have to remember that Eden was pre-flood, what exists today is nothing like what existed at the time of Eden.
exactly
Yes, after the flood God changed men's diet. They can now eat animals. Probably the land is not that fertile anymore, and the trees cannot produce enough nutrition, hence, the animals.
Could be very true
Also way before Voldemort and Potter battle of Hogwarts.
Ezekiel 28
Let’s pull the obvious from the chapter to find Eden:
“You were in Eden, the garden of God…You were on the holy mount of God…till wickedness was found in you….So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you…I threw you to the Earth”
Should explain a lot. Forget the flood. There, was not HERE.
Your explanation of this is great.
The place being lost to a flood tempts me to think of the other event.
When the last ice age ended, there was apocalyptic flooding across the world and sea levels rose by permanently by 400 feet. Doggerland (a widespread human civilization on the now-underwater plain between the UK and Europe) was completely destroyed, the Sumerians had to flee their homeland by sea to settle in Mesopotamia, and many low-lying paradises like the gulf river valley was drowned. I still laugh when people refer to the flood as a "myth shared across many cultures"... sheer theophobic ignorance. Even the most bitter atheist should be able to admit that the flood was no myth, those so-called lovers of science.
What event? I never heard of a flood of that magnitude ever. (joke)
Remember, there's Eden and then the garden of Eden. The garden was in eden. Eden as an area could have been much larger than we would expect and the Garden possibly the size of a country
U understand this like how its suppose to
India perhaps?
well dang i never thought of it that way. nevertheless Eden was lost in Noah's flood. its under, like, a mile of sedement, trees, dirt, whatever was piled on top of it.
You would be correct. The Bible does not say Eden is small in fact it says it was divided in four parts and God literally put Adam in the eat to tend to HIS garden.
This was the first video of your’s I ever saw. Ever since, this has easily become one of my favorite apologist channels. God bless the work you’re doing for Christ.

Something I've thought about is that after the flood, it's likely the entire topographic situation might have changed. It is. Just because the garden of Eden doesn’t describe a literal place in the physical or historically factual sense, that does not automatically mean that it wasn’t a literal place. Now, to be clear, by “not literal” I’m not necessarily saying that it’s a metaphor, and I’m certainly not saying that it was purely fictitious; it just wasn’t physical, as many materialist-minded Protestants incorrectly believe it to be. Rather, it was metaphysical and transcendent. The Garden of Eden describes a spiritual, divine human state of being that all humans once shared. Not a physical, geographical location.
Same. I believe In whatever the Bible says. Whatever “new” theory we have today that contradicts the scriptures; is a lie. NASA for example means TO DECEIVE in Hebrew

Jane Erstić since you don’t know anything about me your assumptions are ignorant. I have studied this for years. The global flood plus tectonic plate movements and volcanic eruption throughout the one year Noah was on the ark completely changed he face of the earth. Wherever Eden was was completely destroyed. All the strata we see is sediment deposited by the flood waters. When the sediment falls it fills in the deeper areas first before finally laying flat surfaces. So yes I do know history and science.
Alex Swan we are seeing? That’s just a stupid statement. There is zero evidence? Shows you don’t know anything about science or philosophy. You are just a troll posting debunked information. "Now this doesn't prove any theological point per se. But it does prove that the account written in the Bible is reliable."
You hear that a lot when doing Bible research.
I think The Bible is reliable in the same way the myth of the siege of Troy is a reliable account. Troy did in fact exist, and there was a battle there, but that doesn’t mean gods were involved.
its not reliable when all of the events are out of order. Plants did not precede the sun . Humans did not precede other animals. The stars are not lights set in the sky . The human race has never been down 2 just 2 people that begat all other people. These are writing of ignorant ancient nomads .That much is clear. If one is to claim that the bible is a historically accurate or scientifically accurate piece of work then you are just intellectually dishonest at best. It is a collection of myths and nothing more. Many of the events and stories are demonstrably false.

That’s just Genesis, which is an old myth and extremely jumbled, but the story’s probably based on the land in the video above, even if there were no angels or gods there.
Similarly, there are at least two independent accounts of Jesus’ existence, which at least agree that there was a sign on his cross when he was crucified. That doesn’t mean he performed miracles, but the story is still based on something.
@@someguy4405 Its not just genesis. There errors and events that never happened in many areas of the bible including the new testament. There are zero contemporary writers testifying about jesus existence. Zero

I’m no expert, but historical criticism and evaluation of the gospels is an entire area of study and things can be gleamed from it using the same methods we use with other old documents. The Gihon translated from Hebrew means the gusher which is referring to an underwater spring. Also it is the most mentioned river in the Bible and by examining all the scriptures that mention the Gihon we can get a starting point of where the Garden of Eden may be. This spring is therefore to be regarded as the "upper water course of Gihon." from this "fountain" a tunnel cut through the ridge which forms the south part of the temple hill conveys the water to the pool of Siloam, which lies on the opposite side of this ridge at the head of the Tyropoeon, or valley of the son of Hinnom, now filled up by rubbish.(2 Chronicles 32:30), many other versus. I've been studying this issue for a while. It would seem to dovetail with the views of Reasons to Believe, and Sentinel Apologetics (Robert Rowe).

@Daniel Paulson you make no sense
@Daniel Paulson I agree Christian love to make up story's to benefit themselves
@Daniel Paulson actually you would be surprised how many of us have the exact same belief. For instance, here alone where I am at, there are mormons, jehovah's witness, seventh day Adventist, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, light of the world, Baptist, calvinist, pentecostals. Historically, mormons, jehovah's witness, and seventh day Adventist are sects of christianity, meaning they diverge from historical christianity in things like jesus isn't God, they have to do certain things to be saved, and other different view points that make them a class of their own. The rest, all believe in the trinity, but they differ in certain in-house things, like whether to baptize kids, do you truly have free will or predestined some celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving, while others celebrate everything, then you have those that just choose not to because of the roots of those celebrations, but inherently it doesn't mean you lose your salvation. Then within pentecostals, which are the people who heal and gifts of the spirit, their are genuine people who do, but they are no names who are surprisingly humble and just keep to themselves, and then you get the others who exploit the church and all that terrible stuff. Yes I am a follower of Jesus, but when it comes down to it, the majority of denominations, with exception to the ones that don't hold to historical christianity (deny the diety of jesus, or the holy spirit, works based salvation) and Catholicism and orthodox (they have things added throughout historical and beyond the biblical definition of christianity such as devotion to Mary and the saints) the disagreements and differences are largely cultural liturgy, and their interpretation of the bible not in the basic doctrine, (trinity, salvation, redemption, judgment) but in the areas that are truly hard to fully grasp like whether we're truly have free will or are we predestined. Blah blah blah unimportant stuff. Anyway I know it was a lot buuuuuttt the grain of it is that we humans just suck at agreeing together in general.
@Daniel Paulson christianity is the continuation of Judaism, sadly they don't see it like that, Islam, is the descendants of Ishmael and Edom, Ishmael was the brother of isaac, and edom the brother of Jacob, God chose isaac and Jacob therefore the whole battle is that Islam wants the birthright back, even though they weren't chosen. Thing is even before modern day conflicts, the bible actually predicts that Ishmael would be against his brother, likewise edom. Furthermore Edom married the daughter of Ishmael. And 4000 years later look at today. That's the very conflict today.

Hi! I'm a hebrew speaker and there is a small mistake that was made at around 4:46 you said that כוש without the vowel sounds something like KSH but actually if you take that word and pronounce it without vowels it would be KVSH, this is because the letter ו can be read as either v, o or u. And it cannot be silent as many other letters in hebrew that can be silent. Either you pronounce it like a vocal or you pronounce it like a v. Also the hebrew in 5:56 is verly poorly translated and the words in english don't match with the words in hebrew.
Well, you saved me from saying the same things but you were much more detailed than I would be :)

And the second one is really misleading. ראש (rosh) means head in Kings too - the upper 'end' of the pole, meaning the higher end, as is our own head. Rosh never means 'end' in Hebrew.

I always remember Schwantes's wise thoughts, whose hermeneutic method always highlighted or suggested the strong relations of the Bible with a "deep memory” of Middle East's ancient populations. As such, Schwantes looked for narrative clues frequently with support in historiographical and geographical scenarios, very important to know the biblical times and the meaning of texts that for me at least, have divine inspiration. In this sense, this video is magnificent because does a consistent exposition about the ancient environmental landscape of Mesopotamia and besides, does a go over very well structured of the biblical Hebrew (I would like to do a mentions about the wonderful video's images: lush forests, light, and mist, springs, and rivers, the ocean, always joined with absolutely reliable cartographical snapshots). Moreover, these pieces of information are explained and intertwined with concerning to highlight Eden's prototypical geographic position, an issue that the video shows with strong reliability. This likelihood is not a fairy tale and therefore, deserves all attention of people that respect the biblical accounts. Matching all these ideas whit elegancy, this material outperforms the simplistic interpretations that unfortunately are very common in the biblical field. This video is a good option for everybody people that want better biblical knowledge and a commitment to truth.
Very interesting, I appreciate the work you put into bringing this together.

I don't buy that at all. The only things that fail as hard as biblical archeology are the prophecies, production of verifiable evidence to support the stories' historicity and how the bible got things wrong ie, plants created before light, humans as well as other animals created in their current forms as the only life on the planet, and then there's the "and the son's of god saw the daughter's of men and came into them" kinda sounds stupid if ole jeebus boy was "gods only son".
But, what do I know I've just read 7 different versions of the bible and many other texts...
It's not like I searched for evidence to warrant belief and didn't find jack squat.
Im not Cristian but damn, this is a very good knowledge
It’s “Christian”. And by saying that, you clearly down realize what religion is or what Christianity actually is. Christianity is the belief of Jesus Christ as the Savior for all of us sinners. If you trust in him, he can save you from your sins and you can go to Heaven. Don’t get this confused with Catholics because they’re different. Christianity is the best one as it refers strictly on the Bible and what God says. If you’re an atheist, don’t be because you’ll go to hell and lemme explain. Atheist believe in the scientific impossibility that everything came from nothing. If your questioning how God was made then, God is beyond our understanding and He is everlasting and has always been here. We cannot grasp that knowledge because we’re not smart enough as humans. You WILL go to hell if you don’t trust in Jesus. He literally died for you. He payed the price for you. Saying that you don’t believe in hell doesn’t mean anything and isn’t going to change anything. That’s like going to a judge and saying that your not going to jail because you don’t believe in it. If I haven’t scared you enough I’ll explain the place your going to if you die and you didn’t trust in Jesus. Hell is an everlasting pit of fire full of demons that will rip apart your body over and over. Your body will go back together just so you can feel the pain all over again. You can’t breath very well at all or see. You will be stuck there forever. I do not want you to go to hell nor anyone else. Please trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I know as a teenager or kid your in that phase of life where you think religion and all this stuff is stupid and isn’t real. Trust me I was in the same position. “There’s no proof at all that God is real or any of that stuff” you might say “If God were real how come he doesn’t come down and save us”. Those are common moral questions people use as an excuse. Don’t fall for them as society tries to grab you. There’s many miracles that you can even see today for yourself that God has done. God doesn’t come down and save us because that wouldn’t be fair. God is all perfect and just. Forcing people to come with God wouldn’t be fair and then we wouldn’t have free will. These questions are common questions that are false and just trying to give an excuse. Look, trust in Jesus Christ and accept him to pay for your sins. I’m not asking you to become religious or pray 10 times a day, I’m asking you to trust in Jesus so I can see you in Heaven.

Imagine this Moses actually goes up to the mountain of the MOST HIGH known as Mount Sinai with the burnt black and peak. And while up there the children of Israel made themselves ready and waited at the foot of the mountain while for 40 days and 40 nights Moses was shown everything up until that point or beyond? They're called The five books of Moses for a reason. Moses was the only one that sat down and spoke with the MOST HIGH. What do you speak about for 40 days and 40 nights? I bet you don't speak at all. You just listen and you listen well and you learn everything from the beginning of time up until your point and beyond..... I really doubt that any of the children of Israel ever saw the garden of Eden including Father Abraham. What if this is how we know about the beginning of life on Earth?
Well prior to the flood people did see eden from a distance at least. They were aware of the place. The Babylonians had depictions of cherubs and even the city was fashioned after a garden. The Euphrates passed along Babylon. People just couldn’t access it nor the tree since the cherubs that guarded the place stood there until the flood. The garden of eden must of had huge cliff mountains surrounding it with an entrance to it. The mountains most likely had sheer drops that made it impossible for anyone of the time to climb and get inside. The tree there was a reminder of what was lost. It was Gods sovereignty on earth. By the tree of knowledge of good and evil he was able to allow humans to have free will. If they obeyed him on this simple command he would know that they are obeying out of love and not because they were robots only programmed to obeyed him at orders. In reality Adam and Eve would of had boundless freedom. Since they were perfect they would not have known or done sin and neither would we. In fact they would have still been alive and we would never grow old nor die ourselves. But as we know someone else tried to spoil Gods purpose for mankind. Eden wasn’t going to be in a fixed location but rather it was to be expanded to the entire earth. Meaning a global paradise. God gave man all the elements and materials to create to build and discover. God gave man Gold, silver, marble, clay, silks, peacock feathers, woods, all kinds of gems and earths minerals and the ability to create and build beautiful homes and utopias as the populations grew. Gods purpose has not changed.
The Solomon's Gold videos by God culture present a thorough and convincing array of evidence that's consistent with scriptural history and convincingly shows that the garden of Eden was in the Philippines.

I think ALL the comments about "Duh! The flood!", missed the point of this video. Of course this guy surely knows about the flood and it's effects and/or ramifications on the earth. My take away from this is that he is trying to make a case for where he, and possibly with the help of his well educated colleagues, based on his/their research and resources pose a possible alternative location for where the Garden of Eden may have been. Was it in Turkey? Was it in Saudi Arabia? Was it in Africa, or more specifically, Ethiopia? Rather than trying to present facts he can't prove regarding those unknown rivers, he "speculates" to make his case for why Saudi Arabia should be considered for the possible geographical location of Eden, or as others would prefer to call it, 'The cradle of civilization". Obviously his case, based on his research of the biblical account, understanding of early Hebrew, understanding of archaelogic evidence and modern Satellite technology, is for a place located in Saudi Arabia. He is simply sharing with us his understanding of biblical accounts, achealogical information along with modern tecnological advances as evidence currently available to make his case. I feel that it gives me something to think about. I think believers and well reasoned and insightful archeologists and scholars as well as the average person (that's me!) who believe that Eden is NOT a metaphor understand we can never get back to Eden because it no longer exists on this earth. Bible believers look forward to when a new Eden is established on Earth after the return of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I think he gives a valid case to consider. I also think it is a very good presentation. I really appreciate his explanation at a level most people who are interested in this topic can understand. This puts me in mind of a college thesis. Of course, I could be wrong. This is all just speculation on my part based on what I saw as I watched the video twice. In the "END", ALL will be revealed. Peace.

Curiously the river in Eden is not named, the most important river. There was an ice age going on at the time that lowered the sea level 120 meters and exposed the bottom of the Persian Gulf. As such the mountains of the Kassites were probably snow covered if not ice bound. The rivers would be very short and thus not flowing through the land. If there were enough monsoons from the Indian Ocean to keep the Pishon flowing, then they would have been more intense to the south which was called Cush in ancient times. The river running from there would be called the Gihon.
I don’t think you’ll find actual Eden though, because God put 2 cherubs to guard the entrance so man wouldn’t be able to go back and eat off of the tree of life as mentioned in Genesis 3:24.

@@jrcuartz1829 So you just blindly believe the scholarly consensus? The scholars used to doubt the existence of King David, the consensus on that has changed now. You can't just believe what the consensus is, you need to look at the actual data. There is evidence of plagiarism between the flood account in the 11th tablet of the late babylonian version of the Epic of Gilgamesh and the Atrahasis Epic. This evidence being a fair amount of identical or very similar lines, different words used than in the rest of the tablet like when referring to Utnapishtim's wife, different formula used for introducing speeches, different less repetitious style, the very out of place list of gods, or when Utnapishtim is literally called Atrahasis in one instance. The evidence here is crystal clear. We however don't see this between the Bible and these stories, in fact, there are differences which would support the view that the Biblical story is a result of independent oral tradition originating from Mesopotamia.
Correct. I was looking for a comment like this. From my understanding of the Sumerians, they claim their land had been submerged underwater. If we are looking for correlations, maybe the Israelites got their Eden Story from them?
The hypothesis to locate Eden in the prehistoric plain beneath the Persian Gulf seems to have originated in mid-1980's by Professor Juris Zarins of Southwest Missouri State University. David Rohl proposes a neighboring region to the north in Tabriz, Iran. Rohl equates the Gihon and Pishon with the Araxes and the Ulzhun rivers, equating the Noqdi with the land of Nod and Kheruabad with the land of the Cherubim.
Rohl also refers to the Sumerian epic Enmerkar and the Lord of Aratta, which refers to the plain of Edin, arguably an ancient reference to Eden by other, early groups of the region.
After the flood of Noah, wouldn't that drastically change the land and erase the rivers?? In sure the original location is completely different now..
It’s in Iran. The Gihon is just a stream now, south of the caspian flowing west to east. Horseshoe shaped mountains open to the east above it.
Something people often forget is that the garden of Eden existed before the flood, which means that if it was a real place, the geography of the earth would have been completely different. Trying to pinpoint where the garden would have been today is kind of pointless for that reason
This is how fandoms overtime fill plot holes the original author didn't even think about.
The Bible is completely true
The river flowed through Eden but was parted into four heads ie tributaries; Tigris, Euphrates and two more. That puts Eden under the northern Persian gulf (there were no oceans at that time).
The creation story in Genesis clearly says there were oceans / seas before Eden is mentioned. See Genesis 1:10
Tigris and Euphrates were never mentioned in the original Hebrew text. The Garden of Eden is not in the Middle East nor Africa.
The rivers mentioned are Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and Perath....

Yes, there was just one family on the Ark. Hello. So, what I want to do with this message is to simply show what the Gospel is. I am not trying to force my belief down people's throats. It's your choice whether you want to accept it. So, a question: Do you think you are a good person? If so, have you ever stolen anything, lied, looked lustfully, watched adult material? All of those are sins and anyone who sinned is not good(on God's standard). You, I and most( most because babies don't sin, and maybe specifically mentally Ill people) purely human beings have violated God's moral law. Since God is just, He can't let sin go just like that. So is there any hope? Yes, there is! Out of love and mercy, God became a human being, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a sinless life and finally died on the cross to bear the punishment we deserve, we deserve to be punished because we have sinned. The reason why blood must be spilled for forgiveness of sins is because the life of the flesh is in the blood, in the Old Testament Jews sacrificed animals for sins but the sacrifice of animals were enough to temporarily cover some sins. (it did not allow forgiveness of sins, Unlike Jesus's, it only temporarily covered them). Jesus is the Lamb of God, the ultimate sacrifice for sins which is enough for all sins that have been done, are done and will be done. Jesus was buried and rose again. His resurrection proved that His death was enough to pay our penalty, the penalty for our sins. Jesus paid our penalty and in order to accept the free gift of salvation from God, we must trust in Jesus's spilled Blood, His finished work on the Cross for our Salvation. And then your sins will be forgiven because of what Christ did, you will be saved. in the book of Enoch it mentions Eden being in another realm (one of Heaven's realms) when Enoch was taken there, so to me that explains why we wont find it on earth. I don't think God would have destroyed it in the flood if he had (has) angels guarding it. He just placed it in another realm where we as men can't have access to it. Also the great flood would have messed the whole landscape and paths of most rivers and their original paths so we will always hit so many dead ends regarding this.
The authors of the books in the bible was under the influence of God, but not the book of Enoch, that is why it has nothing to do in the bible. Its not the word of god but only men.
Don't take torkils words to heart. I do believe many changes were wrongfully made to the book of enoch but I also believe that they are obvious and easy to spot if you invite the presence of the holy ghost into your study and pray for its guidance and wisdom. Call me crazy but I think I saw some allusions to a Flood, meaning you'll do a video on the flood next :)
Video failed to adequately discuss the effects of the complete upheaval of the earth because of Noah's flood and the complete likelihood that the modern Tigris and Euphrates Rivers are NOT the same Pre-Flood Tigris and Euphrates Rivers (rather given the same names in memorial, as humans often do); or any discussion of whether the Persian Gulf may have collapsed and was Pre-Flood higher than the surrounding terrain; or give any proof of the start of Noah's Ark journey was anywhere near the end of the ark's journey; or discussed how any gold mining evidence would have survived Noah's flood, when seemingly nothing else survived the flood. But I loved the graphics and the heart of a man who is willing to ask difficult questions, but probably should have discussed his ideas with Noah's Flood experts prior to making the video.
Yeah you're right. The Great Flood totally changed the landscape of the Earth, including the Garden of Eden. It's just a matter of really understanding every thing that took place in man's history before making an opinion on something.
“Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.”
- Proverbs 26:5 (KJV)
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
- 1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV)
